One of my many aspirations at the University of Texas is to become a principal factor of the scholar community. Being a pertinent part of this highly-educated group will be a crucial part of my future as well as my fellow colleagues at UT. Not only will the Forty Acres Scholar Program help pay for my education at the University of Texas, it will teach me the values of education and teaching others. The scholarly community will help me branch my passions to other people so that they can also be shown the same light that was shown to me and they can see what made me adopt my taste in sports, music, and life in general. They can do the same, which will increasingly make college life much more amusing. This great opportunity will provide everyone
I am a high school senior at Fair Park, looking forward to my first year at Jackson State University in the upcoming fall. My cumulative GPA is currently at a 3.6 average and anticipating to increase next semester. I would be considered the best person to receive a scholarship simply because I go the extra mile to assure my success. Although college is an extensive goal, it could be quite expensive. There is no better way to pay for college than by being awarded money for outstanding academic excellence.
Scholarship and learning are things I strongly value in my day-to-day life. I have completed my freshman and sophomore years so far with an unweighted GPA of 3.94 and a weighted GPA of 5.57. I’ve challenged myself in various Honors and
During grade school, I won many academic awards and was also a member of the academic bowl team. At the graduation ceremony in 8th grade, I received the R. During freshman year, I had a GPA of 4.37, and during my sophomore year, I had a GPA of 4.40. I am committed to improving myself academically, and my past academic accomplishments showcase this.

Being that I am a first-generation college student, finding guidance as I matriculate through college has been tough. I do not have any family members that have went to college, therefore I solely depend on my university for guidance in my college endeavors and my career path. Due to this, I want to be a part of the TRiO Scholars Program so that I can gain valuable advice, counseling services, and guidance to graduation. The experience that I am seeking in this program is the ability to meet and connect with other students like myself. I believe that to be able to identify with students who have come from various hardships like myself, allows for personal growth and a sense of community. I hope to gain this sense of community by participating

The thrill of moving out for college, the new profound independence that one encounters once they indulge themselves in the undergraduate experience is something I’m yet to experience. ASU recommends every Freshman to live on campus at least their first year of college and to join various clubs and organizations in order to fully enhance the undergraduate experience. Unfortunately, I couldn’t partake in that tradition, due to financial problems, I haven’t yet had the privilege of living on campus. Throughout my undergraduate career thus far, not living on campus has been a huge burden that often prevents me from being able to attend beneficial events that will help me in my future. If I’m selected into the McCord Scholars Program, it will greatly
