Although I do not have extensive experience with young children during my B.S.W. studies, I developed the knowledge and skills needed to conduct through interview with clients. This is a reflective essay based on a event which took place in a hospital setting. The aim of this essay is to explore how members of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) worked together and communicate with each other to achieve the best patients outcome.
While I appreciated that one of my peers provided feedback on my work, I feel that the feedback that was provided did not fulfill the assignment. My peer did not provide detailed feedback on my paper that could be adequately incorporated in my review and revisions. Most of the information that was provided as feedback were simply statements that reiterated what the prompt question was. Please see the below feedback provided to me by my peer.
My journey to become a Counselling Psychologist began in 2008 when as a Life Coach; I had a self referral who suffered from anxiety over his forthcoming exams in his second year at university. I started collaboratively setting goals to manage his workload and set timetable into manageable chunks through asking him challenging questions so that e can start to think for himself. He had plenty of resources namely his family, time, books but he just would not settle into coaching which left me feeling I was inadequate as a Life Coach and started to doubt whether he could manage at all. As a life Coach I didn’t have a supervisor so had no one to maul this situation over with.

Alcoholism and the addiction to any drug destroy lives, families and financial security. Growing up with an alcoholic as a parent not only tore my family apart to the point of divorce in 2013; but also left me as a financial insecure college student and a supporter for my younger sister through the years to come. Faced with the sudden tasks of paying for myself and raising my sister, I struggled to through the semesters trying to pay rent and be at home. Academically, I was disappointed in myself and knew I needed to make a change. Through many appointments through the success center, I became proactive to take control of the difficult situation I was in. Though I am still in this situation today, I have learned to time-manage and prioritize
The internship for Optimist International has turned out to be more than I could have ever expected. It all started with a bit of luck as I missed out on the initial internship that included assisting two managers that were in charge of an annual convention in New Orleans and an annual golf tournament located in Florida. Instead, I was tasked with assisting the convention director with the tasks leading up to the convention. As I settled into the internship the tasks quickly evolved in to a variety of tasks that covered a large number of aspects in the business world. In the beginning of the internship, it felt like I had to prove myself to the management involved, but as the internship moved on, I believe I gained more trust with the faculty and I began to get tasks associated directly with management. There was an onsite representative in New Orleans that was in charge of finding community service opportunities that members could participate in the buildup to convention. I was tasked with setting up the time and dates for an emergency kit assembly project for Save the Children and helping paint two rooms at a local culinary school for at-risk teens, called Café Hope. I was able to reach out to contacts with
Having the opportunity to work with our client on home modifications over the past month was an enlightening experience. Not only did we learn how to implement contextual interventions, we also were given the opportunity to practice building rapport, administering assessments (COPM and SAFER-HOME), and developing our first evaluation report. Amongst this learning experience, the first step to making this summer fieldwork successful was developing rapport with our client, B.K. As learned in our previous fieldworks, developing a trusting, partnered relationship is key to creating a successful experience for not only you the therapist, but to assure the client receives the most benefits they can from the therapy. To build rapport with B.K., we spent our first two sessions getting to know all aspects of B.K.’s life including her work, play and leisure interests, ADL and IADL performances, social participation techniques and educational background.

I was a 13 years old when I joined Shamrock in 2007, and it was the first time I was living away from my family. It was pretty hard to get used to everything at first, but things started to get only better and better.
Writing is the unlimited practice of expressing one’s own ideas and beliefs. It is complicated and confusing at times, but once you understand what the writer is trying to say, it becomes in adventure. For me writing is difficult because I truly never learned how to write. I struggled in English for SAT and in Reading for the SAT, but I always tried to better myself. I learned that writing isn’t about how the grammar necessarily, writing is about what the content is telling you. Writing is trying to grab the audience to read your story. It is your chance to have a voice and have chance for people to hear you. Writing is the necessity to learning and the necessity to life. It connects everyone around you with you. This practice will continue to flourish and will always be an important quality.
Over the summer, I traveled nearly 600 miles away from home to work for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. I spent twelve weeks working forty hours with the Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Office (PASHPO) and multiple PennDOT offices. During my internship, I updated information on over four hundred metal truss bridges, mapped historic sites using the Geographic Information System (GIS), presented several properties during Determination of Eligibility (DOE) discussions, and attended meetings with other staff members to observe the status of current ongoing projects. These tasks allowed me to experience the daily responsibilities of a CRGIS Coordinator, National Register Reviewer, and Historic Preservation Supervisor, positions that caught my attention and sparked a high level of curiosity. They also showcased how the theories I learned in my coursework can be utilized in real world situations.
To describe an event or experience in my life and how it influenced my decision to further my education was a culmination of several situations that had happened in the last two years. It started with my place of employment. I had gone up as high that I could in the company and without any further education I no longer had the ability to make more money or to do anything else in the corporation. I began to get frustrated with the situation and with myself. I knew I had more to offer and the desired to do so. As the days passed I had a conversation I had with my daughter. She had questioned the importance of her schooling. I was stressing to her the importance of a good education and how that education will change her life for the better. I explained how an education can give
Over the course of this summer as a CIT at RISE camp I have used this experience to identify many skills that would be advantageous as a counselor.
Before I became a student at BCCC I was attending CCBC the college was awesome my field of study was Nursing. I left the college because I needed to be close to my grandmother because she had some illnesses going at the time. My main focus when I attended BCCC was to get all of my pre-requisites done so I could attend the Nursing Program. When I started classes in fall 2011 I started during well, but I fell short in some of the classes because of appointments I had to attend with my grandmother. Fall 2011 I received an F in English 200 and a D in Math 107. I knew this would affect my GPA. So I said to myself, maybe I should take a break and I had a long talk with my grandmother. She told me to make sure I focus on school and she will be fine. So spring
