Hi guys! This past weekend we were graced with a much needed fall break. After a few weeks of constant studying, it was nice to have a four day weekend to sit back and relax. After my two tests on Friday I drove seven hours to meet my dad and my girlfriend's dad in Pittsfield Illinois for a few day hunting trip at a lease that my dad has. It was a long drive, but it was worth it when I arrived to a 16oz prime rib at one of my favorite restaurants, the Red Dome. Unfortunately the corn and soybeans had not yet been cut around our farm so we did not see as many deer as usual, but we still had fun and relaxed for a few days.
Unlike most people my favorite months are November and December. I love the coldness and the christmas decor and hot
After an eight hour drive we finally made it to Yosemite National Park. We were minutes away from starting our camping adventure and none of us could hold in our excitement. As we pulled into the parking lot we instantly noticed that the whole place was completely abandoned. We were puzzled as to why the park was closed. Annabelle was the first one to break the silence. She turned to Wyatt and said, “there is no way in hell that I’m leaving this place without going camping.” The furious look on her face made us realize that she would be impossible to reason with. Wyatt tried explaining to her that it might not be safe to camp at a deserted park but she grabbed her backpack and marched over to the fence. She promptly threw her gear over the fence
La Chute translated The Fall, was published in 1956 by Albert Camus '. The Fall is Camus’ last completed novel according to the Nobel Prize in Literature. The Fall can be seen as complex. At times, interpreting and analyzing can be difficult to some when attempting to understand the novel. However, according to Referential Anxiety in Contemporary French Fiction by David R. Ellison, there is no right or wrong way to interpret The Fall because Camus never had the chance to explain it himself. David R. Ellison argues that "It seems as if no real progress has been made in deciphering the text’s central enigmas" due to this. For the reader, this is good or bad news. The bad news is that no one can tell you with any real authority exactly how to
Monday morning Maddie woke up a little after six thirty. It was clear to her that she would be late but she didn't really care. There was so much going on. She spent most of her shower wondering what was going on with Elijah and his siblings. Quickly, she got dressed in a white blouse that had opened shoulders, skinny jeans and her white converse shoes. She got her stuff before leaving the house quickly. By the time she was driving away from Starbucks, first period had begun but she didn't really care.
For years my fascination was to travel somewhere spectacular, some place that would show a dignified view that would make me say “wow.” Finally after waiting years, last year was the year that I had the opportunity to leave the borders of the United States and go to Canada. Specifically, Niagara Falls, getting there was a journey in itself. Once getting there, a scene of unspecified beauty appeared in my field of vision that was unexplainable with words. It was something that would stick to my mind forever. The flow of gentle water hitting the rocks, a originated mist that came from the falls hit my face, filling my face with joy.
Crammed in a 1992 Ford truck that is supposed to seat three people, my brother, sister, dad, and I surprisingly arrived at my dad’s favorite park; it just happened to be over an hour away. This mini trek felt as if it lasted for hours. At first, I dreaded piling up to listen to my family complain about having each others’ elbows touching for more time than I would have liked. I soon discovered the uncomfortable ride would be worth it. Once we reached the winding road where we significantly decreased our speed from the highway, my siblings and I grew with excitement to finally be able to stretch our legs and go hiking. We unloaded the truck to spend a couple hours at what we called Great Falls Park.
What is the best season ? Fall is the best season because there is comfy clothes , get to play in the leaves and outside it turns amazingly beautiful . There are so many other reasons why fall is the best season but we are gonna focus on just these three for now . One reason why fall is the best season is because of the comfy clothes that include “ sweatpants , beanies (small hats ) , comfortable coats , boots , yoga pants and so much more .” ( odyssey ) Some people might think who doesn't like dressing like a bum ? That is a good question some people like dressing like a bum but others might think it isn't their style . For those who don't like dressing like a bum it is probably because their favorite season might not be fall . For those who
This story provides us with a very un-just look on society. Candide and all the other characters in the book are put in situations where they suffer from the hands of other people. For starters, Candide is kicked out of the Baron’s castle for the simple act of kissing the girls that he loves. On his journey he is beating within an inch of his life for no good reason. It seems that people who had the money had the power and took advantage of those people who had nothing.
Conflict can take on many forms in one’s life, such as conflict with self, with society, with religion and with others. Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter, develops the theme of conflict through the moral sin of Hester Prynne. Conflict is observed through Hester’s difficulties with the townspeople, challenges with the Puritan way of life, struggles with herself and tensions with Roger Chillingworth. Committing sin in the Puritan society leads to a great deal of conflicts.
Legends of the Fall is an excellent story of brotherhood, loss, and life. Originally Legends of the Fall was a story written by Jim Harrison, but later was adapted into a film. The story tells of three brothers named: Alfred, Tristan, and Samuel, who lived their lives on a plantation in Montana and then decided to go to war once the youngest brother was of age. Samuel, the youngest brother seemed to be favored by the family; and the older brothers only want to go to war to protect him. Eventually tragedy strikes and young Samuel is killed by machine guns due to his blindness from mustard gas. Tristan (the middle brother) took Samuel’s death especially hard and many other characters thought he had become completely mad. Once Tristan and
Going into the fall 2014 semester, my family was not in a good place financially, and I was not mentally. Our income had been reduced, meaning I had to step up to help my family. This caused my already weakened mental state to become even more strained and took a toll on me physically. I was not able to concentrate on anything at school, work, and home, it was almost in a blur. When I resigned from the fall 2014 semester, I knew it was something that was needed to make sure I stayed healthy, mentally and physically. Two years went by and I found myself in a better place. Going into the fall 2016 semester, I found the perfect balance between studying, work, and home life. In the end I exceeded all the expectations I had set for myself in every
Despite being surrounded by beauty and the amazing scent of my lotion, the trail in the Amicalola Fall was a good idea ,but there where some down sides to this trip. It all started like this we woke up early got dressed and put on my favorite smelling lotion . We started walking on the trail it was so beautiful but the insects where everywhere the worst ones where mosquito and gnats it was infuriating, then I remembered it was my scented lotion. I saw one try and land on me but I slapped it before getting bit and that signaled them, there where insects attacking me from left and right I was helpless the only thing I could do was to scream and I did
The main purpose for this essay is to discuss whether or not youth culture is saturated with porn? The essay aims to highlight what youth culture is and how it can be affected? This will take into account a number of sources, research including The Academy of Paediatrics and Colett (2014) in order to establish a definition of what the term youth culture truly is. It will then discuss what porn is and how it can affect a young person and finally how educators can approach such a sensitive topic. What is youth culture? Youth culture is the way adolescents live their lives and the social normalities, values and practices they share. Colette identifies that “youth culture is not so easily defined and is rapidly changing.” This identifies an issue in itself that because of rapid change youth can find it difficult to define them selves, who they are and what they want. There are many areas in society that affect youth culture, these include: music and film, literature, social media, sexual attitudes, sub cultures, political and commercial influences, and a constant battle to challenge traditions. In more recent years young people are feeling more pressure by society in many ways but none so as high as sexual pressure. The age people are beginning to have their first sexual experience is on a rapid decrease with some known cases as young as 10, along side the amount of sexual promiscuity is on the increase. Television and radio advertisement, movies and everyday music young people
My favorite season of the year is summer because of the warm weather, the school vacation, and the endless fun. I really enjoy the warm weather because it’s the perfect atmosphere to do outdoor activities. My favorite part about summer has to be the fact that school is closed for two months. During summer, you’re free to do whatever you want, not worrying about curfew or waking up early for school. Summer time is a great time to relax with friends and family by soaking up the sun at a beach or simply having dinner together.
