After I earn my bachelors’ I will move to Texas and find an apartment. I want to become a police officer but I specifically want to be a police detective. To do this, I will have to work my way up the ladder by first being in the highway patrol and moving up. I want to be a police officer because it represents becoming stronger than I am now and protecting those who can’t protect

What is identity? The definition as a person’s own sense of whom they are, which their past define them. Identity is very important in our society, no matter your social status. I can attach identity to belonging to something or place. As human race, we feel the need to belong to a group or place. Because belonging to a group or place, give us the sense of identity.
Have you ever felt robbed of a childhood? At the age of six, I was placed into the DYFS system. I moved from house to house, not really having the chance to grow up like normal children. I didn’t get to experience things such as ; asking my older sister advice on boys, learning how to cook grandma’s favorite recipe, or going on family vacation to Disney world . I worked hard to get where I am right now. My experiences have made me of who I am today , my story will tell you my background, where I came from and why my application is incomplete without it.
The central theme of my identity is my progressive ideals, which has contributed to my want to be politically active. For instance, I had the incredible opportunity to work on a various political campaigns in my local community. Specifically, I phone-banked for the Clinton campaign, went door to door for a local county commissioner's race, and put out political signs for future Governor Roy Cooper. Subsequently, all of this political involvement derived from my absolute outrage at the actions of Republican reactionaries throughout the country. Thus, I saw it my moral duty to get political and help fight a rising influence of individuals who do not have the best interests for the average American. From HB2 to Republican attempts to infringe
My identity can be defined by moments in my life. Moving to Canada, learning English and going to high school are three major moments in my life. Going through these experiences have changed the person in me and made me more confident, stronger, better in everything.
As years go by, I learn more about myself and figure out what my true goals are. Many of them help guide me to having a happy life. I’m going off to college to further more my education so that I become successful in my future. I want to get a job in my field right after college and willing to face the difficulties that are thrown at me. As long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to become a police officer. It’s been a dream of mine that I want to make happen.
The Constant Battle of Who I’m Told to Be & Who I Had to Convince Myself I Was
Yes, you are right. It really kicked in as of this year. This is the first year that I've kind of gone to another level. I'm the guy in town who did a lot of indie stuff. I'm very well-known in the independent film circuit 'cause I have this different way of being who I am. I started out on something huge. I did a couple of small things, and then I landed a role in I Spy with Eddie Murphy. My part was a supporting lead part in the movie. I worked with him for four months. To get that size of part, he had to approve my audition. And the first thing Eddie said to me when he met me was, "You real funny, man." And I was like, "Well, I can die now," 'cause I literally got what I wanted. It was the craziest thing in the world. It was great just
I like to think that my journey to finding my identity has been a complicated one. As in my case identity was something no one really focused on finding but at the age of fourteen my complicated identity would come to accept a new part of it, Cancer. But it is not what I identify myself as, it makes up my identity but I don’t let that define it.
' what makes me myself rather than anyone else is the very fact that I am poised between two countries, two or three languages and several cultural traditions' (Maalouf , A, 2000), which emphasise my identity and how this is an essential part to my identity. For example, I am an Indian, who wears salwar kameez ( traditional Asian clothes), who loves eating Asian curries with hand, who speaks Hindi and Punjabi with my parents and relatives (the most common languages spoken by an Indian), I am an Indian because I was born in India, an Indian who prays and visits the Gurdware (Sikh temple) every Sunday ,and lastly ' visiting others' such as cousins and relatives are considered a very important part of an Indian culture (Kenner et al, 2004).
Being a patrolman is all that I wanted to be. I had no desire to make rank or to be a detective. I felt I was needed more on the street with the troubled kids and the elderly. I was one of those troubled kids when I was young living in the City of Chicago. I came from a family of Police Officers. However, that didn’t stop me from dropping out of school and getting into trouble. Things changed for me when I met a Chicago Police Officer, who’s beat I lived in, took interest in me. Around this time my best friend went to prison for murder and I moved to Dayton Ohio.
My name is Pedro Montoya III and my current major of study is Criminal Justice. I decided to Major in this because my dream is to enter the law enforcement field after I earn my Bachelor’s degree. I decided to go into this career field because I love to help and protect people in need, also because the day I die I want to die knowing that I did something with my life and that I helped make the world a safer place for my son, family and everyone else. I also decided to go into this career field because I want to set a good example for my son and be a good role model because I don’t want him to take the wrong path in life like I once did.
As a child, I always dreamt of joining law enforcement. My dad peaked my interest in the field. Years ago, he was a Correctional officer for the Weld County Sheriff’s office; I always admired him for what he did. I knew right then, that is exactly what I wanted to do.
