This past summer I went to West Palm Beach, Florida for a showcase baseball tournament with my summer travel team. My mom, dad, and my girlfriend Calen also went. The tournament started the week after school ended, so at the end of my last day of school we left for the tournament. The drive drive down there was terribly long, it was about 10 and a half hours by car. We arrived at the hotel at around 7 o’clock pm, and the hotel was not as nice as we thought it would be originally. After the rest of the team arrived we hung out in each others rooms and by the pool. The next day we had a game at the Astros spring training field where all the pros play during the spring. With this being a showcase tournament we all were trying to play to our best
Starting my sophomore year I had always had a burning desire to beat Miami Trace more than any other school. I used to go to school with four people of their starting eleven, and they were not the most kind hearted when we left Fayette Christian School. They were bullies to my sister and I when they found out that my family and I had made the decision to leave the private school and start attending public school. At the time they were all a lot bigger than me so there was nothing I could do about it, but now because of soccer, there was. I looked at beating them on the field and outplaying them as my own way of getting back at them for all the hardships they put my family through. We had come out on top every time, except the last one.
It started as typical Tuesday with a couple of court hearings, maybe an arrest, but nothing to exciting. That all changed at dawn.
Everyone has a different perspective on what their special place would be some might be their back yard while for others it could be in a different city that they visit often or a vacation home. For me it would be in Miami,FL.I consider it to be my special place because of the food, music,South Beach, and family .Many people know of South beach due to a lot of movies being filmed there. While for others, such as myself ,were born and raised there. If someone ever gets the opportunity to visit they should take it.
One sunny, hot afternoon at switchback mx in Orlando, Florida I was preparing get two rookie supercross riders here train. I was getting very nervous that adam cianciarulo, and ryan lojack would not be here on time to train. I stepped out of the van and smelled the 2-strokes, and heard the roaring bikes. Then finally Adam and Ryan finally showed up! Ricky Carmichael and Ryan Villopoto and I told them to go get ready, because we had a lot of work to do today. Ryan, and Adam went to work on the track battling it out, when I waved them in.
From Fort-Lauderdale, we had to travel twenty-two hours to get to Dallas, Texas. We spend most of these hours on the road. There were twenty-three players in total, divided among in four buses. One of the coaches was ill and could not continue the trip with the team. One of my friends and I also felt sick, and started to vomit on the way. We had to stop twice to stay in two different
Growing up in rural North Carolina was both a blessing and a curse. My hometown, Fallston, North Carolina, is a tiny town way off the beaten path. Most people speak with a southern accent, are devout christians, vote Republican, think camouflage is a normal fashion pattern, and adore country music. But while I was a child, none of these things were a problem. I never realized how close-minded everyone was or how there were no opportunities for success; I was too concerned with the three most important events of the year: the Fallston FunFest, the Belwood Tractor Pull, and the Cleveland County Fair. However, as I grew older, zeal wore off and reality set in. I started to realize how conservative and restrictive it was. What little Fallston offered,
I saw four letters on the paper: N, S, W, and E. For a better view, I situated myself under a lamppost, as the darkness of night failed to illuminate my paper. Looking up and down the strip of asphalt, I was desperate to find any road signs. Once I found a sign, concealed by a tree, I noticed it said, "NJ-40 towards Elmer".
I had arrived for a two-week stay at the transit barracks of Camp Pendleton in California. We would stay here temporarily until we flew to our overseas base destination. They had told us that we were not allowed to leave the base prior to our flight. They probably believed that some of the newer soldiers might get themselves into trouble in Oceanside, or head for home with cold feet rather than leaving the United States for the next year.
The United States has always been “home” to me because I feel that I am a bit of the quintessential American story. I was born to immigrants hoping for a better opportunity than what was offered from their third world home country. I was raised and went to school here, which blended many of my parent’s home culture and the new American culture. As I have matured, I have noticed how much my life has been influenced by society’s opportunities and issues. The American character is the crossroads of opportunity, struggle, and hopefulness because the it is not only a reflection of the founding father’s ideas, but also a reflection of minorities who have interjected their experiences that shaped my American journey.
One of the most rememberable thing in nature i remember was. I was in West palm beach Florida. Then i went to west palm beach and when i got out of the car i heard kids playing the waves wiping people out then i put my feet in the sand and felt seashells on my feet. Then i stopped and smelled fish and different types of sunscreens.I keeped on walking and heard a weird noise and it was seagulls .

As the airplane touched down in sunny Florida, I knew this will be a start to a new life. Stepping out of the airport, I began to take in my new surroundings in the sunshine state. This state is nowhere near New York, the hot weather gluing onto my skin was just dreadful. Glancing around, I noticed a lot of elderly folks taking their sweet time to travel to their destination. Florida is all about driving, which I was not familiar with at that time. Florida drivers are known for driving slow; the light turns green and then they continue to hold back traffic. The weather is horrible humid and unbreathable; especially with hurricanes and tornadoes that are always lurking. Florida is quite tedious; the beaches makes you weary and make you feel
The struggle of getting up at 3 am was unbearable after the events which had taken place last night. I had no energy what so ever, yet I knew the events about to occur were to be bewildering. Our tour guide sat us all down and explained to us what would happen and all of the risks and procedures. Excitement was running through my veins. We all hopped into a spacious coach which would be taking us on a 6 hour journey to the beach of Cancun. Although the air in the coach was extremely heavy, I managed to catch up on a few hours of sleep. Before I knew it, we had arrived. Cancun beach, the extravagancy of the view I had been looking at was unbearably beautiful. Nothing could beat it. The sun had started to rise. The few rare clouds in the sky
Sunny San Diego. After six hours of travel, two plane changes, and one annoying seatmate, I had finally arrived. It was my introduction to the West Coast. Seeing palm trees everywhere was a shock to my Midwestern eyes. The blue of the cloudless sky was intoxicating. As I breathed in my new surroundings, I decided that I could get used to this.
I jumped on my bed at 12 in the morning. I can’t wait for tomorrow! It’s going to be a tremendous day. My family; Dad, Mom, little brother Andrew and I, are going to South Padre Island early in the morning! I couldn’t stop thinking about it. What am I going to be able to do there? How will the hotel look like? Pause. The list can go on and on, but first, I need some sleep. It’s going to be a great time with my family.
