Mindy Kaling is an esteemed Hollywood actress known for her roles as Jane on “Jane the Virgin” and Kelly on “The Office.” Many people know her on screen but few know that in addition to her acting she is also a scriptwriter. So, when Kaling was given the chance to pitch ideas for the next Hollywood hit, she jumped at the opportunity. She went before a panel of executives to share her thoughts for the next box office romcom, and was left both confused and surprised by their lack of interest, with a counter that they were looking into movies that were about boardgames.
This summer, I had the joy of discovering the work of several independent filmmakers who are genuinely making a difference in this sect of the world of film. One of those immensely gifted ladies just happens to be Mel Mack, director and writer of the indie short film Touching Mary. She eagerly agreed to chat with me about her experience in the industry, the making of this singularly thought-provoking short film, and a little about what she sees in her future.
Julie Taymor was born on December 15, 1954 in Newton, Massachusetts to a doctor and a politician. The youngest of three children, both more than six years older than her, she had a “tremendous amount of freedom” (Molina). She lived through the turbulent 1960’s noticing how new circumstances caused by the Vietnam war influenced the behavior of those around her and how these changes developed as time passed. This close observation of what people went through and how it shaped them had a large influence on what would become her creative basis not only for fabricating the costume design for productions, but also for directing many theatrical, film, and opera works.

Using real footage in addition to fictional reenactments allows the audience to have a better understanding of the filmmaker’s mother, while keeping the viewer interested.
Last summer, when Garage Sale Mystery had its special limited series event during the month of August, the installment entitled The Beach Murder featured a young lady whom I recognized but couldn't quite place. As the potential love interest of Logan Shannon (played by Connor Stanhope), Yasmeene Ball waltzed onto the screen with vivacity and elegance beyond her years. Since that time, I have noticed the considerable number of works that have featured her talents, and I knew I wanted to interview her. In light of the upcoming premiere of Marrying Mr. Darcy this evening (June 2nd) on the Hallmark Channel, Yasmeene took some time to answer a few questions about her career thus far.
Her doe eyes full of concern as Jack Nicholson chops his method via a door stays among Hollywood scary motion pictures' most famous scenes, however this celebrity is a heartbreakingly lengthy method from her splendor days.
Late at night, I snuck out of my bedroom door as everyone was asleep in their beds. Cautiously, I tiptoed over to the living room TV, overflowing with eagerness, I soon hear the Rugrats theme song I loved so much. Anxiously, I watched Tommy and the gang make their way to another adventure. But that soon ended as my older brother peers his head from the darkness of our living room only to find me, I was sent to my room. Learning from those moments, my awareness grew steadily, attempting to perceive the creaks of the bedroom doors opening from neighboring rooms. At that time, my plan was foolproof, but I didn’t count on the unpredictability of my loved ones, and ultimately ended up not watching as much. Later, I realized Rugrats wasn’t always on the air, other shows like Chalkzone, Invader Zim and Catscratch including many others, would feature instead. As luck would have it, there was one spectacular show in particular that stood out from the rest called Hey Arnold. It was a real game changer, it had a compelling story, a distinctive yet riveting character set including Arnold himself and a kicking outro, the melodious flow of the saxophone had a refreshing jazz
We played a soccer game yesterday against Buhler, we beat them 5-1 our first win of the season. Unfortunately I got injured within like 5 minutes of the game, I sprained my ankle and it hurt really bad so I had to go out of the game for a little bit so the coach could wrap my ankle. After about 5 minutes of walking on it I started getting used to the pain. So the coach asked me if I was good to play, so I said yes. I ended up going back in with about 30 minutes left, so when I went back in coach put me as the striker which is the attacking position. Their team wasn’t so good so I ended up running a bunch because I’m fast and can produce chances. I got a couple of chances to score but didn’t get a goal, Juan Castillo got a goal and that basically ended the half. At half
In Oklahoma, where there are bloody rumbles and serious crimes made here in this big city, but there is a tiny sixteen year old boy living in the middle of it all, and that was me, Johnny. The Greaser was like a second home for each other. They were rough, old fashion, and have been In rumbles where breaking your arm wasn’t a serious injury, but they help another out. I, in the other hand, was not like them. They say that heroes need a dark past in order to be stronger in the comics I read, but that didn’t happen to me. I was abused by my own parents and I got jumped by those rich Socs. They left scars and pain for me, I felt like I’ve gotten weaker after this, not stronger.
Aside from the Sun and moon, Venus seduces the heavens with its glistening brilliance as the brightest object in the sky. Beneath Venus’ radiant appearance lies a dreadfully divergent, multifaceted surface. The gentle winds and dense clouds of Venus unceasingly neutralize the atmospheric temperatures allowing the conflicting qualities to peacefully coexist. Venus orbits at a leisurely pace enchanted by the love and beauty achieved by harmonizing extreme differences. While imposing these qualities, Venus instructs people to diplomatically reconcile opposing forces, glisten in the midst of diversity, and relish in the elements of
In The Incredibles, when Bob and Helen discovered that their youngest son Jack-Jack was beginning to show his powers, it made me wonder when would I get my own. Obviously at five years old, I did not understand that people were not born with superpowers but instead they had to discover it for themselves. For me, being able to speak a second language is my super power, and has become one of my greatest skill. Growing up I was so embarrassed, and afraid of what my peers would think and it was because of one boy. In first grade, one of my classmates heard me talking to my mama in Vietnamese and he poked fun of me for it for the rest of the year. To him I was speaking “gibberish” but I was actually translating stuff for my mom. In his defense
It's powerful to measure a sentiment like bias, the word for hate and concern of Muslims. but it is also challenging to escape the thought that being Muslim in America these days is becoming difficult. The anti-Muslim rallies, the vicious hate crimes, the racial discrimination, and the threats and taunts are very harsh. Scholars say bias looks to surge once attacks by Muslim extremists and through presidential campaigns, once candidates pledge to urge harshness on terrorists, typically by singling out Muslims. Simply in the week, once a Muslim man was charged with explosive bombs in the big apple and New Jersey and another was suspect of stabbing ten folks in Minnesota, political party presidential politician Donald Trump urged native cops

In It’s a Wonderful Life, George Bailey never realized the impact his life had on the lives around him. He took people for granted and cared about all his problems more than his love ones. I think that the people in your life that make an effort are very important because they help shape you into who you are as a person. One person in my life that has inspired me to be the young woman I am today is my sister, Melissa.
