The Dreadful Day at the Dentist It began just like any other day. I woke up, got out of my bed, and went downstairs for breakfast. I was more tired than usual. I spent the previous night playing computer games and watching cartoons. I was greeted by my mom and dad in the kitchen. They seemed more happy and lively than they typically are in the mornings. I sat in a chair in the kitchen and waited for my mom to finish making me breakfast. “Good morning,” my mom said, “How’re you feeling.” I was a little bit surprised that she would ask that because my parents were usually very quiet in the mornings. “Um, good I guess,” I replied hesitantly. “Great,” she chirped, “Because you have a big day ahead of you.” “Wait what?” I said confused. “Yeah, I have to run some errands and you have to come with me.” My nine year old self was caught off guard with this idea because I was never invited to go shopping with my mom. I was also not very interested in shopping and would much rather just stay at home and play with my LEGO’s. “But I don’t want to,” I whined. “If you go with me then we’ll get ice cream afterwards,” she persuaded. “Ok fine, I’ll go.” She put a plate of bacon, eggs, and toast on the table in front of me. I ate the whole thing in the matter of seconds and went upstairs to change out of my pajamas. I wasn’t very excited to shop with my mom, but it was all ok because I would get ice cream after it. I got dressed and went back downstairs. My mom was waiting for
“Sweetheart, can I please talk to you?” my mom whispered. She sat alongside me on the bed and rubbed my back, like she did when I was a little girl.
My alarm went off at 6:30 I clicked snooze and got off the couch and went upstairs to the bed and laid back down. Then I plugged my phone up into my charger and set my alarm for 7:25 and went back to sleep. When it went off again to wake me up and I got up and went straight to my mom to remind her that I'm going out of town for the weekend and she asked me about everything again to make sure everything was okay and reminded me about my orthodontist appointment. So, I ran my shower picked out my outfit for the day and then jumped in the shower, then when I got out my momma was asking me where her phone was. I said it was on the bed, she said no it was not and then I called her phone and walked out to the ironing board. That's when she found it and I asked for my card once again and she gave it to me and said don’t spend all your money now.
After sitting there for a while and discussing what there was to do, we decided to take a stroll in one of the ditches by my house. There were two of them on both sides, about two blocks away. The one on
Then we went back to my aunt’s place and got ready to do some shopping for our new apartment. My aunt drove us to Walmart and then took us to Macy’s. I was amazed to see size of Walmart the first time. Also it
As a registered chairside dental assistant at Dental Specialty Clinic, I was the lead dental assistant and my job included to assist doctor with oral procedures and lead our dental team. Our goal was to organize the clinic in a manner so that patients were given proper care within time limit. My role was to keep track of time and our team so that planned patients were given care from the scheduled time.
At age 18 I was a customer service representative at Family Dollar and then was later promoted to assistant manager. I was in charge of a team of about 11 employees and majority of them were older than me. I was proud of that accomplishment, but wanted more for myself. I wanted to start a career.
I saw my mom and greeted her with a bright, “Good morning!”, then continued to ask, “What's for Breakfast?”
I put on a pair of jeans and walk downstairs into the dining room, there was a plate with frijoles, chorizo and tortillas waiting for me. My grandmother brings me my favorite drink, homemade chocolate milk. I sit down and across from me is my cousin Lesly. She was bored, she always was.
My life changed when I was in seventh grade when I got my braces. Since I was in seventh grade, I was twelve years old and lived in Granite City, Illinois. However, my Orthodontist worked in Glen Carbon. It was a very difficult journey yet, I did it happily as well as willingly. I wouldn’t change my experience at all, the Orthodontist was very nice along with his assistants so it made it even easier for me.
I walked outside the next morning feeling great. The bright vibrant sun shone on the freshly mowed grass. I loaded into my sister's car and we went off to school. The day passed extremely rapid,
My alarm went off at 4:45a.m. As soon as I heard it, I knew I had a long day ahead of me. My parents started screaming and telling everyone to get in the car. My mom, dad, two brothers (Nico and Adrian), grandfather, and I all put our luggages in the car and got seated. At 5:00 a.m. we were out the door and on the road for a 10 hour drive to Seaside, Florida.
It was earlier that morning I got up and got ready to go to my soccer game. There was some very crispy bacon waiting for me which I ate without hesitation. And some eggs which were a little to bland in my opinion. I was running late so I needed to hurry up. I took a short hot shower, then hurry and got dressed. I was almost ready when I heard the surprisingly loud car horn and my mom yelled “ Hurry up we are gonna be late.”
I woke up with dried drool on my left cheek, and I heard the sound of my dad making his daily smoothie. I got ready as fast as I could, because I was late, as always. I ran down our seven flights of stairs and met Todd
I am particularly proud of the choices I have made which have allowed me to progress as an individual. Through an unexpected tragic situation, I determined that the world osnt what I thought and learned to be accepting of different views and to entertain various ideas. The dynamic sudden shift in my life instilled in me the virtue of being unprejudiced, because I experienced firsthand not doing what I was so certain that I would. Subsequently, applying to dental school three years of granted me invaluable experience in a multispecialty practice as a dental assistant. Through dozens of rejection letters, I learned to initiate change when required as well as to take responsibility for my learning and growth. Currently, I am working towards my
Aspiring on improvement and serving global community make me a better candidate to surpass others. In my academic record, I have experienced failure, but I have also tasted success later with my insistence for learning. However, learning in school is not the only self-improvement I have, but also through my dental shadowing experience. During my dental shadowing experience, I learned that staying hungry and foolish is critical to scientists as knowledge keeps evolving. Many of older patients are facing silver-filling infection, which was caused by a common cavity treatment started at least 20 years ago. After my self-research on the evolution of filling techniques, our modern technique has a better consistency with our teeth with resin filling
