In 1991 Mercury a now defunct child company to Ford motors company produced a two door coupe. The model for this car was named The Cougar. I don’t remember how this car came to end up in my grandma’s back yard, but as far as I can recall it came with the house. To most this vehicle is considered a mode of transportation. If anyone would have asked me years ago I would have answered with it was home to a troubled man that was my grandma’s brother. Everyone simply referred to him as “Uncle Joe” and he was a drinking man and the reason I continue to work hard. In 2004 I stayed with my grandparents in Orlando, Florida. Where I lived the basic childhood life. I went to school, did homework, and after that my grandma would force us to change out
My grandpa got the deal of a lifetime on his truck. He only payed $ 800 it doesn't have a motor in it. My grandpa, my uncle Jack, and I worked on the truck
During our first run Taylor and I noticed that the car was turning way to the left. So in order to fix this we started our car as far to the right of the track as possible. After our first trials we realized that we needed to fix our string. We needed to cut the string we had attached off of our car and make a new one. When we made a new one me made it a little bit longer than the car and only hot glued it to the hook, not to the frame. Our new string had a loop in the end of it so we could put that on the toothpick. So now we understood that the toothpick did have a real purpose and we couldn’t glue the string to the mousetrap. After we made these changes we ran our car three more times.
I watched him and my dad dive under the “monster” without any hesitation, they went straight for the belly of the beast, the engine. My uncle being one of the first master mechanics in the country led the way. Spitting out pieces of knowledge one can only learn after doing it for so long. I was so amazed by how my 60 something year old great uncle was jumping and diving around the car like a gymnast does out on the floor doing a routine, that I forgot and he forget that only 6 months ago he had a major heart attack. He called me over to show me a part of the frame, stating “ I haven't felt this good since i took you for a ride in the dune buggie, but you were only 6 years old I imagine”. After he and my dad judged and checked the car for imperfections. We asked the next biggest question, “Can we drive it?” Well the answer was
The way she looks on a long dark night With all of her chicken lights and chrome She is mean and green with enough light That it’s seen a hundred miles from my home She can haul a very heavy forty head All while going one hundred mile per hour All the other cattle truckers dread When they see my truck with all its power It has a screaming cat that won’t hold back And let’s the black as darkness smoke roll
I can remember how excited I was when I bought my very own first car. I spent hours and hours fixing up my car exactly how I wanted it. I waited a very long time to buy my own car. I worked for hours and hours, saving money to buy a good running car. I did not want to buy a cheap car. I wanted to buy one I know would last and didn’t have anything more than minor mechanical problems, if any. I knew if I bought one of the streets it was bound to come with something needing to be repaired or replaced. Having proper maintenance done to the car was also my way of guaranteeing my car would at least run okay for a little while. My first car was a 2002 Hyundai Sonata featured with 19’ black rims, with clean interior and dark tinted windows. The sound system was in great condition and for it to be stock, had a really nice bang to it. I absolutely loved my car, It felt so nice and I
One of the most important events that happened in my life was just recently, and that was buying my second car. This thought process was in the making for quite a while, considering that I was getting tired of taking my silver Hyundai Elantra in the garage every four months for repairs. For that reason, it made sense that it was time for a new car or a used one, I did not care which all I cared about was that it had to be a manual transmission. In addition, the fact that I outright hate going car shopping, I put it off and off until this past January. Since my mom had surgery that month, she was home and could go car shopping for me, well searching on the computer shopping. Since she was doing that, I did not have to worry about it and she knew what I wanted for a car.
The brand new Ford that my mom bought a few weeks ago fired up and rolled out of our driveway. My dad was in the passenger seat, and my mom was at the steering wheel. The front of the new car was ready to go. One of my sisters, Hannah, sat in the seat right next to me. As for my other two sisters, they sat quietly behind us, acting as if they didn’t want to be there. My sisters and I sat in silence behind our parents awaiting the long and exhausting trip that was coming before us.
When winter approached my car was transformed into a frozen ice block along with the rest of Indiana. As the days passed, frigid sheets of snow and ice that covered the roads and stores covered my car as well. At that point, I realized my car was ugly and nearly worthless, but my parents wanted me to remain positive, focusing on what the car did do. My vehicle had functioning heat and four-wheel-drive for the snow; however, none of that matters if the car is too cold to start. As the winter progressed, the car became more and more difficult to drive. Though I knew the moment I had been waiting for was quickly approaching, my parents and I didn't have the money for a new car to replace it, and that's when I experienced a change of heart and
I kept my car cleaned and always in top mechanical shape . . . It was just the right choice for college life . . . Unequivocally, it was a big hit with both boys and girls. At one point my 2 roommates had new cars as well, so to visit our place was like going to a new car lot. The unspoken game of one-upmanship between men is based on using the car as an image tool.
I am writing concerning the used car I purchased from your dealership on April 2. Your salesman told me the car was lightly used, having only 18,900 miles on it. The odometer reading was 18,900. Once I drove the car home, it had many problems.
then approached the vehicle driver’s side of the vehicle and noticed the two children. I noticed they were both covered in blood and Genesis Freeman was placed face down in the lap of Serenity Freeman. I could see the driver’s window was partly down and a pack of New Port cigarettes were on the ground next the rear door. I also noticed a child sock was on the ground on the passenger’s side of the vehicle. A child shoe was also located on the ground prior to the vehicle. I then proceeded back to my vehicle and was advised by Sergeant P. Orellano to escort Tillman Freeman III to Hoke County Sheriff’s Department. Detective J. Figueroa and I then followed a Hoke County Deputy to the Sheriff’s Office to interview Tillman Freeman III.
I started up my car, just like any other normal day. Just a normal day I told myself, a normal day. I forgot the gift I bought for Lindsey, which I had been meaning to give her, but she hadn’t been to work for a couple days. I quickly hopped out and grabbed it. It was a T-Shirt of her favorite band, Green Day. As the traffic sauntered along at the normal traffic jam pace, acting like they had nowhere to be, my hands grew sweaty and my stomach twisted into knots. My hand slipped as I was turning and I almost lost control of the car. Just a normal day. I tried looking in the glove compartment for a couple smokes before work, but found my gun. The power such a small thing contained. The ability to take someone’s life, silence them forever. It felt too powerful. That’s why I have to carry one. We all carry one, but so do they.
As far as true passions go, I've always worried about being a lousy artist. This was evident in the time I was assigned to design my team's logo for our Race Car Club's first competition. Graphic design was untouched territory for me along with leadership as I was not only the artist of this club but also the president.
I got my dog almost one year ago. We got him on november second 2014. Me and my sister had begged our parents to get us a dog but they kept saying no. THe day that we ended up getting him my parents just said that we were going camping. They said we were going camping in a cabin a few miles from Bend Oregon.
Somehow, I managed to recognize my house and stepped onto the dark front porch. It was covered in dark metal and one tiny, green car on the driveway. I don’t remember our family having a green car? I rang the doorbell, waiting hopefully for one of my parents to open the door. But, the person that opened the door was not one of my parents or siblings. It was a whole different person I didn’t know! I stood there for a moment, staring at the person, which she did too. She had glistening green eyes flecked with spots of dark brown. Feeling shocked, I ran away, running as fast as I could. My brown hair flying in the wind and my light brown eyes wide open. I was so confused on where my family was. Maybe that was my mom and she just looked completely
