Buzzer Beater To Win
On January 22, 2017 at Lower Macungie Community Center gym two Lower Macungie Youth Association (LMYA) were playing against each other. They were playing basketball. No team was getting demolished.
My team only had six players available to play. We have nine kids on our roster. One of them broke their wrist during a game. Another kid had boyscouts. And a third kid was unavailable to make it to the game. My team, the Rhinos, were wearing blue, and the other team was wearing white jerseys. Our best player is Kaden. He is over 6 feet tall, and is a really good shooter. His also a great defender.
The game began with the tip-off, and the Rhinos got the ball. The score was 0-0 for the first two and a half minutes. Finally, Kaden scores the first points of the game on a deep three-pointer. The Rhinos were up 7-0 by the end of the first 5 minutes.
Each half is 20 minutes long. Every 5 minutes each team must make substitutions. If they have more than

Both me and Kaden have 3 fouls already. Then Kaden gets his fourth foul, so now he has to be careful not to foul out of the game. Then with 1 minute and 59 seconds left I get my fourth foul. Then only 10 seconds later I foul out. My team is down to 5 players left. With the clock ticking down the two teams were exchanging baskets. Finally, with less than 30 seconds left the white team miss two key free throws. Then with the Rhinos down by one with only 5 seconds left to tick down on the clock, the Rhinos have the ball at half court. Jack Rush gets the ball makes a spin move to get a path to see the basket. 2 seconds remain. He shoots the ball. 1 second left in the game. The ball goes right in, and my team and our fans jumped up and down with excitement. The atmosphere was filled with excitement. The other team then with less than one second remaining chucks up a full court shot that missed by a
In Fargo we had enough kids to make 2 teams. We split them based on their age group. Team 1 was made up of seniors and juniors. Team 2 was made up of sophomores and freshman. Each team had 3 games this day. Team 1 played very well they made good choices and made big plays. They ended the day with a 2-1 record. Team 2 went 3-0 with some magnificent play from those young guys. Unfortunately, they did not make it to

On this Saturday’s evening game, the baseball game was 2 teams in the championship game. The 2 teams that were facing were Pipe Creek (which was my team) and Mcadams the team we had to beat. Mcadams was the #1 seed and Pipe Creek was #2 seed, we were throwing back and forth and getting some practice before the game. Later we finally start the game. Pipe Creek was the Visitors and Mcadams was the home team. Pipe Creek was up to bat first and we scored 6 runs in the 1st inning.
The game started, Tommy and I were playing the same quarters. I clamped up, locking Thomas down trying my best to get bragging rights. I was hot, sweaty, and tired. I got subbed out during the second quarter, and was relieved. I waited for my chance to play again as my team took a big lead. I went back in ready to play, first possession a good steal by my team i run ahead of everyone on the fast break, I am ready for the ball to come, I turn back catch the ball, look forward take a dribble go up for the floater and bam I’m fouled at the last second by their big Bennett. I was so frustrated because I really wanted that score. “It’s Alright Nate!” I hear coming from behind as my teammates jog up the court. The game ends, our team winning but I am still
He knew it was going to be a no excuses to lose to weather and it was going to be a good day for fans to watch football tonight. He had met with Kyle Cannon who was the quarterback for the team and a running back on the team named Dion Gordon;
Over my years of school, one big influence on me has always been sports. Ever since a young age, I have always enjoyed playing and watching sports. In my four years in high school, I have fell in love with the sport of lacrosse.
I woke up and took one bite out of my pop tart but that one bite was all I could eat. My legs were shaking, and my heart was pounding. My dad told me, “It is a true honor to even make it this far so go out there and have some fun.” Once I heard this statement, I knew I was ready to go. I arrived at school and boarded the bus. The car ride was an hour and fifteen minutes of hearing the squeaking of the wheel on the bus. My teammates were getting their heads ready for the big game.
We go down and turn the ball over, they get the ball and score a layup, the lead is now one. With fifteen seconds left, we have to inbound the ball, with a full court press on us. I throw it to my point guard, and he loses the pass and they pick up the ball and score. We’re losing by one. Thirteen seconds left. We inbound the ball and the point guard takes it down and gets clobbered, and goes to the line for two. He makes the first, but chokes on the second. It’s all tied up, ten seconds left. They get the ball and get fouled, he missed the first and the second. The ball is loose and I dive on it and call timeout. We get the ball with three seconds left and our point guard takes it in and scores! Then the other team takes the ball down to the other end and gets fouled, and he missed both free throws and the buzzer sounded! We won the
Four, maybe five German soldiers surrounded me. They were moving in faster than a pack of starving wolves, and I was their downed prey. There were flying bullets, dark smoke, and explosions everywhere. I was oppressed and knew that this was finally it. All my hard work was about to disappear into a plume of smoke. I commenced raising my rifle, and then in the midst of this chaotic scene there was this ever so subtle giggle over the headset. I look upwards dumbfounded to see a firestorm of bombs hailing all around me, and enveloping my entire section of the battlefield obliterating everything. It was my brother Chase piloting this monstrous desert-sand colored beast of a bomber, which just unleashed utter devastation on the opposing
As the starting point guard for the first dream team I was about to win a gold medal. We started by blowing out teams on an average of 43.8 points a game. Then Croatia came and we won by thirty two points.Our leading scorer was Charles Barkley his aggression towards the opponent was amazing to watch, and that is how he got the most points on the team. He averaged eighteen points a night in which he would play very rough but the game is already rough.
Doctor Larry Smith was the Pediatrician in Toombs County for as long as I can remember. He was well-known and loved in the community and a member of Lyons First United Methodist Church. Dr. Larry was married and he had two daughters, one stepdaughter and a stepson.
They had arguments and had some problems with playing together, but being on a team and having the common goal of winning makes them work well together. According to Masada, “High school sports should be a continuation of the classroom so that such lifetime values as citizenship, sportsmanship, teamwork, and hard work are taught and reinforced. For some parents, the reason for their sons or daughters to be involved in athletics stems from their assumption that athletics is a means to an end with the goal of a scholarship being the main focus”(1). While some view high school sports as just a way to get scholarships they are much more than that. Many students do not get the opportunity at furthering their sports careers after high school due to the talent needed to get athletic scholarships.
This Friday night consisted of everything which would be perfect for a basketball game. The weather was cold, and the hot gym provided warmth. People from all over Louisiana came to watch the biggest rivalry between Jefferson Parish playgrounds, Johnny Bright Playground versus Girard Playground. I played on Johnny Bright’s team as a starting power forward and center. We initially played well up until the fourth quarter, lost our momentum in the 4th quarter, and made crucial mistakes at the end of the game that resulted in one of the most disappointing games of my life.
