The Boston Events If you know anything about my cousin and I we tend to get into a lot of trouble when were together. So when you put two trouble makers on a 12hr road trip there are bound to be some funny stories. One example of this is when we stopped to get some food on the road. I guess you could say that we both had a hard craving for honeybuns at the time seeing as we bought a box of 12. As we we’re in line to buy it a woman with 3 large iced coffees in front of us decides she wants to turn around and get some more sugar. As my back facing her talking to my cousin she bumps into me and spills all 3 coffees down the front of her shirt. She screams and says “Well I should of know today was not my day”. All in all that day was just a start of we came to call the Boston events. Its 2015 and the world is glued to cellular devices, which is probably a first world problem only. Well I would like to conclude that Boston being located in the US would have this problem as well. Well it seems like I am wrong which brings me to …show more content…
Do the words Georgetown cupcakes make you salivate in your mouth? If not then you haven’t lived a full cupcake life. It all started on our last night when my aunt told us they had a cupcake shop a street or two down from ben and jerry’s . Little did I know it was the cupcake shop that I have been watching on Netflix for about a year. As we walked into the store we got a heavy smell of something I could only describe as a little piece of heaven. As we made our way through the line the lady asked me what I would like to have and, at that point I wanted to say everything. But the initial flavors that me and my cousin were drawn too were blueberry cheesecake, red velvet, and my favorite chocolate lava. As we each took a bite I could feel a piece of my soul leaving my body. It turned out to be even better than I expected, which now makes Boston my favorite place to
The next morning we went to eat breakfast muffins at our rooms. Then one church leader said “ Hey guys, the water park is open, so who is going with me?” “Heck no I'm
I have lived in only one location my entire life: Edwardsville, Illinois. A peripheral suburb of St. Louis, it stands as the rare oasis of people in a desert of corn, pinned in its own personal bubble. Due to this blend of time and isolation, I developed a natural familiarity with my hometown. But, throughout my childhood, I longed to break free from the confines of the bubble and venture outward. However, this changed last summer, as I walked through Richards Brickyard, our family heirloom, that my great-grandfather, Benjamin Richards, founded over 120 years ago. I felt these childlike sentiments slip away. The bubble that had surrounded me for so long began to vanish, and the picture that it had been obscuring was slowly revealed.
One sunny Saturday morning in Honolulu, Hawaii, Steve McGarrett had a day off, so he decided to sleep in. Steve McGarrett was part of the 5-0 task force. He was sleeping when all of a sudden, Steve was awoken by a loud knock on his door. He quickly got up and opened the door. It turned out to be his 5-0 task force mate, Dano Stevens. He stormed into his house and without saying anything, turned on the television.
It was so close we could almost taste it. The undefeated season, the holy grail of the NFL, seemed to be a sure thing. Here the Patriots were in Super Bowl 42. They had the chance to achieve a 19-0 season. Something no team had ever done before. I stood in my living room. Surrounded by friends and family watching the ongoing battle. I could feel the joy radiating from those around me. Victory was near. The Giants stood in their territory just a few downs from their ultimate demise. The Patriots defense had been stout the entire game, and so surely they would be able to hold the Giants now, when they needed to the most. Eli Manning took the snap, and the Patriots defense pounced. They had him by the jersey, all they needed was to finish the
My worst fear is getting shots. This arose when I was two years old, and had many visits to the doctor’s office because there were concerns about my respiratory system. I had to have many blood tests, which weren’t only scary, but also were painful. The blood tests came out normal, but it was later discovered I had asthma. After I had a severe reaction to tree nuts at around five, I had to have even more blood tests to determine if I had other allergies.
Sunday, November 3, 2013 is a day that I remember so vividly. It was the day of my first ever Patriots game. I grew up surrounded by Patriots fans, my mom, my
What happened on March 5, 1770? The Boston Massacre happened. Many of the colonist had just lost their jobs so they gathered around together. The colonist were not happy that they had lost their jobs most of the colonists were furious. A seventeen year old boy who was an apprentice had stepped out of his group and was screaming at the British that's when it happen. A British soldier had hit the seventeen-year old apprentice that's when the crowd went wild and started to fight with the British. The British soldiers had fired their guns. There were five colonists who were dead. The first man to be shot was an African American man. Paul Revere had seen what the British had done so he wrote a poster and called it the Bloody Massacre. After that had happened in Boston with the British soon after the other colonists heard about it as well. The British did not know that what they had done was the beginning of the war and they had started. It was mid-October and in the twenties, because it was October as was I am finishing my route. As I biked the town seemed so beautiful. I like this job because it helps me get away. I had woken up with Abelard screaming about friends lost in the war. Jacob had to come over help him. Jacob was a friend of the family and was also referred as an hyphenated American. The two had been bullied at the start of the Great War long before it came to America.
My first disturbing encounter with SFC Wilson was in November 2016, we were housed in lodging across from one another and he made the remark that I should make sure my door is secure and rattled off my key door lock number. After that incident, I shoved the sofa that was in my room up against the door every night until I moved to permanent housing. I was very relieved that I would be away from him so that I could sleep better at night. The second incident was during the first course of the 42A30, SFC Wilson introduced himself to the instructors and made it known to them that he did not know what he was doing and he would need assistance from all of us. He would ask my opinion about issues or situations that he was assisting in creating
Before I joined National Honors Society, I was a shy, though dutiful student. I completed assignments, turned them in, and got a good grade. Nothing more, nothing less. Though my school career appeared successful, and I had minor volunteer commitments, it wasn’t until I joined our school’s chapter that I grew to feel confident enough to pursue excellence unabashedly.
As someone who was raised on stories about American revolutionaries, I have always admired the “Great American Heroes.” After all, my history classes were filled with passages about George Washington, who dared to defy the great British Empire, Susan B. Anthony, who dared to fight the patriarchy, and Martin Luther King Jr, who dared to resist segregation…
My uncle, Gary Norder, is my American Hero because of his devotion toward me, and my family, The times he spends with me, and the effort he puts toward to support his family and mine amazes me. My uncle and his brothers started a company called Custom Caulking. The Norder brothers say it's been hard for them, but they still manage to sustain a wealthy business.
My hands shook as I dove into the cool blue Atlantic. Unwilling to brave the brisk sea water, my 472 troop mates remained on the schooner. Three masts stretched high in the sky; their pristine white sails billowing above the booms. Aptly named, our ship, the Yankee, reminded us that we were misplaced sailors. The waves battered the hull as the captain lowered the anchor, its black iron slicing through salty white crests. At the anchor’s command, the rest of our crew lept like synchronized divers off of the ship and into the vibrant coral reefs surrounding Key West.
The night of January 12, 1962 will be a day I will never forget. Bitterness was in the air that night and people were just seeking revenge on the cold hearted man who was behind this despicable crime. It was an awful terror ever know to the bay of woodland heights. People still say the ghost of Thomas Green still haunted the bay, because his horrible death. But what was really sinister was who and how they death occurred.
I had heard of Rise Cupcakes for years, people would use them for asking each other to prom and homemaking. Girls would post them on social media and frankly people would just get excited if someone said they were going there and reply with a “oooh I love Rise Cupcakes!” I never had the excuse to go to simply eat a cupcake, so I took advantage of this opportunity to pay them a visit. This was partially due to the fact that it is a bit out of the way from where I live and I just thought that they were overhyping it, no cupcake can be that good. I thought this would be a normal cupcake run, where the cupcake would be crumbly or stale or too dense My experience here far exceeded my expectations by passing my criteria of atmosphere, service,
