A loud ringing noise filled my ears, i sit up from my bed; look at the time and realize that i slept through my alarm twice. I bolted out of bed and quickly went up stairs and checked my phone for any texts that i might have gotten that night. When i turned my phone on i saw that noah had messaged me. The text read, ¨Hey when are we picking you up for the beach?¨ ¨Shoot!¨ I exclaimed. I had totally forgot that we were going to the beach that day.
I immediately went to the cupboard to get some cereal, then I went and sat on the couch and turned on my favorite television show; The Big Bang Theory. After that i went downstairs and did my makeup, got my swim suit, packed my bag up; by the time i was done getting ready it was

After Noah´s mom parked the car we got our stuff and starting walking down the beach until we found Noah´s cousins. Once we finally found them we setup our towels and set down our bags and ran into the water. It was absolutely freezing, well; it was lake Michigan. After swimming for about ten or so minutes we laid out in the sun for about 40 minutes.
When we all got up from our towels Noah had the bright idea of walking about a mile down the beach to a sand dune. The walk was pretty long, considering that we had to walk in the deep sand. Once we got to the sand dune we all started climbing it; Phoebe and I had never been to that beach/sand dune before so we had no idea of what we were getting ourselves into. After about ten feet out of 200 or so feet Phoebe and I were absolutely dying of heat exhaustion. Our leg muscles were burning and our feet were on fire as the sun beat down on the treacherous unstable sand. We both just kept telling ourselves that we would get ice cream if we got to the top of the sand dune.
After ten minutes we were half was up the sand dune. We took over a dozen breaks in those ten minutes. The sand dune felt as if it was completely vertical. On our way up Noah kept taunting us with gatorade. He got a video of Phoebe and I almost crying as we crawled up the sand dune. After another 10 minutes
The next morning a young boy woke up startled by his mother shaking him and telling him to get up. She said they were leaving and Ben didn’t know why they were leaving, but he trusted his mother. He got up and followed his parents to where everyone else was standing. Ben wondered why everyone was wanting to leave. He thought about all the fun times he had had there with all of his friends. Running around, playing tag, and swimming
I went back home to eat some breakfast. Then i mow my yard since I didn’t have to go to work. When I walked into my house the tv was on since i had left it on early. The news were almost on so I waited since it was only twin minutes remaining of the big bang
The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) is an international organization present in 190 countries (Unicef, n.d.). It is an agency focused on the area of maternal and child health. Recently, the organization is providing fresh water and food for mothers and children, education for mothers and girls, and immunization programs for children (Unicef, n.d.). The advantages for this program are the benefits to the education and health of the women and children, but the disadvantages are ability to retrieve funds all the time, and providing care to everyone. They have to have a focused topic, like they do, in order to start to care for the population. There are many issues in the third world countries that go beyond the abilities of one organization,
The sky was bright and the birds were sitting on the tree branches singing their songs. I layed in bed slowly trying to pull myself out of bed. It would be my first day back to school in 3 days. I reach for my phone to look at the time. 7:15. Schools already started so there is no point in going. The teachers will understand. I set my phone back down on the nightstand. After a few minutes pass by I hear my phone buzz. It’s a text from my friend, Britney.
We all woke up that morning early so we could get all packed and ready to go. We had to take two separate cars because of how many people we had to take. The car ride was eccentric and ready to jump out of the car and into the lake at any moment. Finally both of the cars made it to the destination, my parents and my friends parents both rented all of the things we could use for today. Throughout the whole day we used the water bikes, kayaks and paddleboards for how
I am learning a lot about the victim and creator mindset from the under of the subtitle of Adopting a Creator Mindset in the chapter 2. It was leading myself a deep in my meditation of the flashback what I did do in my previous college of RIT/NTID. I decided to choose the writing about the creator mindset to base on my experience.
Did you know that my grandma’s family name was originally Karlsson if you were a man and Karlsdaughter if you were a woman? When my great, great grandfather moved to America they changed it to Carlson so it would be more American. This is how they came to America.
We had planned to spend a good hour or so hanging out at the bottom and catching our breath, however due to the sun setting soon, we knew that we would have to immediately head back. So as irritated and tired as we were, we headed back up the trail. Now as I said we are all pretty outdoorsy people. However, Lauren isn’t the most athletic girl I know and also wore her dad’s boots which were three sizes too big and were beginning to give her blisters. Did I mention that the trail back is a three mile, straight-up hills trail? We knew that it was going to be hard to get her back to the top before it got to dark to hike. Also, since our car was in the horse parking lot, that would be an extra mile once we got to the top. So we figured the best option would be to divide up. Maya and I took off so that we could get the car and drive it back to where Lauren and JR would be waiting at the top of the hiking trail. Maya and I hiked up as quickly as we could, completely out of breath, out of water, and out of energy. I didn’t think that we would ever make it out, until finally I saw the light out of the trees. Once we made it out of the trail, we ran the mile to the car and rejoiced as we finally got to sit down in the air-conditioned Elantra. We drove back to Lauren and JR waiting for us and ended the hectic day by eating pancakes at Cracker
We started off at a jogging pace because we wanted to familiarize ourselves with the terrain. Almost every step we took there was either large pointed rocks, thick embedded roots, or large swallowing holes. We knew we had to be as careful as possible. There were warning signs all over the path to make sure people are aware of the possible dangers, but that never made us think to stop. Every one fourth of a mile there was a sign that told you how close you were to the top, so once we made it to the halfway point we decided to take a break. There was not much talking between both of us, our time was spent drinking water and preparing for the final stretch of the trail. After I was rested, I asked my brother what time we were at. He checked his phone and we were at 18 minutes. I thought to myself, It only took us 18 minutes to reach halfway up the mountain, and I think I did not push myself as hard as I could go. I turned to Cayden with a gigantic grin and said,”Want to finish before 30 minutes?” Judging by his body language, I could tell that he was exhausted. The higher elevation must be having an effect on his breathing. Out of nowhere, however, he put away his water and his
I jumped through the kitchen door with the intent of regaling my family with a tale of the firetrucks and ambulances which raced by me during the bike ride in pursuit of their own mångata, but the thought elapsed as trivially and quickly as the vehicles had passed me on the road. Instead, I waved at Mom and Dad watching TV in the living room and headed upstairs to the rhythm of the sirens stuck in my ears. I've always abided by the theory that my bedroom should be a zone solely of relaxation, so I was a little startled to hear the phone binging: “Jake Robertson just died in a car accident,” the screen told me. I pulled up the covers, and my head hit the pillow before the truth hit my
I turned off my TV, and did the dishes. I changed into my sleepwear, and then curled up in bed, falling asleep quickly, dreaming of blue
Scientifically, I am the result of nearly 14 billion years of molecular action. I am both a direct and indirect result of the theoretical Big Bang. I am (in my simplest form) matter, then later a conglomerate of atoms, which combine to make my molecules, which combine to make my cells, which in turn form my organs, which work into organ systems, and finally create my physical self. I am neurons and synapses; I am lobes and a cerebellum, and the thoughts formed within. I am the leaves of an evolutionary tree whose roots are 3.8 billion years old. I am one of an estimated 7.4 billion people worldwide. I am one of an estimated 319 million people in this country. I am a 9-digit, government issued number. I am a certificate printed and signed in
Many scholars agree that business interest groups are powerful political actors and influence the political process. Business interest groups often pay money to political campaigns in order to influence politicians into supporting the business interests of that company and not the interests of the regular citizens who are voting (Acherman,1975). The focus of this Literature Review is to discuss the research on the topic of voter efficacy and the corporate influence in politics.
Across Europe the trend to and argument for decriminalization is on the rise. Advocates for legalization of drugs across Europe have touted Portugal 's success and have tried to use it as a unilateral expression of decriminalization as a complete success. Portugal 's success is very much also attributed to an overhaul on the healthcare and treatment of drug addicts rather than being the simple result of decriminalization (Aleem). The Czech Republic recently joined Portugal in decriminalizing drugs in 2010. The mainufacture and distribution of drugs are still highly illegal, but drug users who simply possess or even use are now free of the fear of persecution. Possession of up to 15 grams of marijuana, five grams of hash, 40 psychodelic mushrooms, one and a half grams of heroin, and a gram of cocaine are considered a usable supply of drugs in the Czech Republic. Success within the country can be measured in that roughly 70 percent of the nation 's problematic drug users maintain regular contact with outreach programs and needle exchange programs. The Netherlands has noted a drop in opiate dependencies thanks to a long-established needle exchange program along with allowing the prescription of maintenance doses of diamorphine and methadone (O 'Neill).
This year was my last year at The Little Middle School. Even though I’ve had a lot of speed bumps, I’ve accomplished a lot of stuff. From learning new instruments to working on my ability to focus, I’ve grown a lot.
