A “Fun” Sledding Run
It was a warm winter day my family and I were out enjoying ourselves alone at the sledding hill. Sausers, tubes, sleds, and toboggans, we used them all. Until we decided to build ramps, well my brothers did. I was too young to understand.
“Dad watch this!” My brother yelled as he went off the ramp.
“Pfff I can do better.” The other said as he fallowed.
I was so Jealous, my father wouldn't let me go. So I grabbed a saucer and went down the hill my realised I had left and chased me down. I thought it was when we got back to the top I grabbed my sled.
I hit some rough snow. I didn’t like it, with all the bouncing and crashing. Being the speed demon I am I finished my run, so next time i could get the fastest run of the
The snow was melting and Larry didn't have any miles on his brand new snowmobile. So Larry got the bright idea and a couple ideas from his friend Phil swift
One weekend, my friend Hannah and I wanted to go on a quad ride during the night. It was during the summer and we were at Hannah’s house and we were bored. So we thought it would be a good idea to go for a ride, so we asked her step dad if we could and he said yes. We both thought it would be super fun to go for a quad ride. So, we get all geared up in proper clothing because it was cold out and off we went.
We were waiting in line, I was so scared. Dad said, “Go on the ride it will be fun.” Finally it was our turn when we got on the ride we started going up.¨Are you ready?¨”Dad said. I was not feeling great about doing this. When we hit the top we went straight down everyone was screaming. I was so scared but relieved I did it. The rest of the ride
One good snowing after school day, the bell just rang my dad was in line and forgot that me and my brother Ethan were going to my friends house Austin mack house we were going to spend the night with him.
On our way up the mountain, we saw lots of Toucans and monkeys. It was a very bumpy ride. Sometimes the mountain got so steep that I thought we were going to fall backwards. Once we reached the top we got out. The workers helped us put on the harnesses. The woman who worked there jumped on the zip line and went down first so she could be the catcher at the bottom. None of us wanted to go, it looks way to scary. So my dad made Gage go first, he was assisted by another worker as he was too little to go alone. Once we all new that Gage made it safely we did rock paper scissors to see who went next. Ian went and then I went and then my dad went. There were 4 lines, at first we were only going 60 miles per hour, by the time we were on the last one we got up to speeds of 90 miles per hour, the length of the lines was 3 miles. The wind on my face and body actually hurt and it was hard to breath at
When we arrived my family was having so much fun that we didn’t notice that we had been there for over two hours. We had three sleds since there were about eight people there with us and only five of us were mostly using the sleds. Everything was going well until my second cousin decided that she wanted to go with me. I sat in the front and she sat in the back because she was afraid of falling off and having the sled run over her. She kept falling off because it was her first time going on a sled because she had just moved from India. As she started to get the hang of it we began to mess around and turn as were were going down the hill because we thought we were being cool. After we had both gotten the hang of sledding together we wanted to go on the steepest part of the hill because no one was going on it and we thought that it wouldn’t be scary. That’s when everything went downhill,
Listen up side-by-sides, sled’s, and thorn’s are a horrible combination. During winter break I had a fun but scary time sledding.
Ski Patrol rode up with us coincidentally. When we got of i immediately fell, I wasn't used to riding with only one foot in. About 5 more rides later my brother was ready to ride the lift with me and my friend. I never really found out the kids name I just called him dude and stuff like that, Normal stuff 10 year olds call each other. The third day was really fun, my friend didn't come because he got hurt at the end of the second day. My mom wanted to be able to talk to us while we were on the mountain, so she bought walkie-talkies and earbuds that had microphones on it so that we could talk to each other and me and my brother could tell each other if we got separated or lost. This happened one time he went up the wrong lift without me and i had to find him on my way down. We were getting really good for our first time. We started trying the blues and were going pretty slow. At the end of the weekend it was time to go home. At 4:00 the lifts shut down and we changed into comfortable clothes and drove home. The next morning I was really sore and bruised up from all the falls. We later went back to another resort named Cataloochee. This time I took a friend by the name of
The sound of the engine revving high into the RPMs, my heart pounding fast leaping from one side to the other getting the snowmobile on edge to crave. The corner is coming up in my yard, trying to push myself to the limits, I take the corner as fast as I ever have leaning hard to one side of the snowmobile trying to ensure that it wouldn’t tip. As I was struggling to keep my foot placement on my slippery, snow-covered running boards that then had melted into water I slipped trying to hold on with one foot dragging holding on for dear life.
It is one of the best feelings to finally get off a ski lift and be able to move around and warm up again. I was unbelievably sore from the previous day, so it took me awhile to get back into the flow of things going down the mountain. I’ve yet to find anything that gives you as much of a full body workout as snowboarding does, and I was definitely way too out of shape to run for long periods of time. Skiing is a lot easier on your muscles and your body as a whole, but it just didn’t present a challenge to me like snowboarding did, so I refused to trade in my board for a pair of skis. Thankfully, my dad is getting old enough that he made pretty frequent stops that I definitely needed to give my muscles a rest here and there.
The parents were fed up with our wild animal like behavior and told us to play downstairs in the basement. We all went down the basement and started to playing tag. Therefore, we had to be careful playing because the basement was not finished at the time and had metal studs where the walls are supposed to go and the concrete floors that are now hardwood. When everybody went upstairs because they were as tired as an olympic runner after a meet my Dad came down to fix a light bulb. He used a ladder to fix it so he could reach and when he was done he went upstairs so I was the only one in the basement. I wanted to be like my Dad so I decided to climb the ladder. I was at the top when my foot slipped off the ladder. Somehow I was able to turn my body around and grab onto a pipe to stop myself from falling. I felt the pipe starting to brake so I decided to swing on to the metal stud next to me because I was sure that was going to hold me. When my
I stared up at the hill and swallowed hard. Having just skied down the hill successfully, I was proud but worried about getting back up. The smell of cold stung my nose, making it feel as if I would sneeze snow if I sneezed. I wrinkled my nose and blinked the snow out of my eyes. Why did it have to be so windy today? Urgh.
It was my third winter, and I and was wrapped up in snow gear worse then little Randy from ‘A Christmas Story’. I was finally allowed to go out and slide with the big boys, so of course my mom is not going to hold back, on putting as many layers on me as possible. After hours of waddling up and down the hill in my stiff snow suit. My mom calls out to us that we have one more slide down and then its time to go. To save time we decide to just slide down the driveway. So the boys: My brother Nick, and my cousin Malachi. Loaded me into my sled and start to count down for one big last push down. Three, Two, One.
