After a stalling four hour drive, Me, and my family arrived in Los Angeles; my little brother decided not to come, so he stayed with my Grandmother instead. Months before the trip we planned to stay the weekend at my dad's friend's house in Los Angeles; my father and older Brother wanted to see a concert; however, I was more interested in the city, and considered not seeing the concert. Our driver parked their car on the side of the curb next to my dad's friend's house, and we all left the car, saying our goodbyes to our driver. My dad's friend exited the door of his house and introduced himself, and then invited us inside. The days preceding the concert we spent at a Greek restaurant, city-walk, and a beach... More importantly daytime fell, as it was now the night of the concert. The concert was on the other side of the city, so it'd …show more content…
Nearly every parking space occupied cars; although, through trail and error we eventually found a spot. Exiting the car we walked to the concert's park entrance, and climbed up a long flight of stairs. The stairs led towards a banner held by two poles; its front listed names of which artists were preforming tonight. Past the banner served grass lawns, makeshift paths connecting people towards various food stands, and merchandising, to keep people entertained; the area had an awkward vagueness to it. Climbing yet another set of stairs; once past it presented entrances to the concert's bowl, and a large grass lawn where people laid. We walked through the entrance, and searched for our seats. Our seats were on the second row, despite not being near the performers; the seats served a breathtaking view. There were thousands of people already seated, and a large digital screen above the performers, which displayed live camera footage of their actions. From where we sat the city above the bowl's lip was visible; showcasing Los Angeles' bright buildings, and sprawling
Then we walked into the New Jersey Preforming Arts Center, which is a very nice building. The acoustics of the hall were very nice which made for easy listening. The seats themselves were not the greatest because once again we like saving money.
venue. The purpose of this concert was to give people a taste of the NEIU
The setup inside the arena was simple. A large white platform was built, with an orchestra pit behind it and a large wooden crucifix hanging overhead. White flowers ringed the edges of the platform. The main floor area was set up like a church nave, with two large, parallel sections of seats, and an aisle wide enough between them to drive a popemobile through.
A woman in a bright yellow vest was standing at the entrance of the aisle to help direct people to their seats. We walked up to her and she pointed us in the direction of where we needed to go. Once we saw in person where our seats were located, my eagerness was uncontrollable. Our seats were just a couple rows from the stage. I knew right then that this concert was going to be remarkable. Not only was I going to see my favorite band live but Joe's favorite band, Deftones, was opening for Incubus. So, we were both experiencing seeing our favorite bands
The concert took place in the Weber Music Hall. Weber Music hall is a small auditorium with two levels of seating. The setting was very formal. Everyone was very quiet and paid attention to the performance. The lights were a little dim everywhere, as very bright light shined on the ensemble. The piano was center stage and faced sideways, so the audience could see the side view of the pianist playing. The violinist was in front of the piano and a little to the left, so he did not block the view of the audience. The majority of the audience was on the lower level of the auditorium, with a couple of stragglers up top. All of the audience was in front of the stage, and had a good view of the performance. I was expecting a well, organized
I remember getting off the plane , excited to see my mom again, even if i was away for only one short month , grabbed my things and walked hoping to see her long black hair and freckled face, but minutes passed and i couldn’t find her. I sat down and moments later i heard my name through the speaker of the airport, i walk toward a police officer and there was a woman and her husband, who apparently called my name. They explained my mom couldn’t make it on time and i would have to spend the night with them.
When I first arrived at Live on the Green I had never seen the venue or heard any of the bands who were performing. I didn’t look up to see who was performing in which slot I just thought whenever I get ready and get there is who I will see play. Luckily enough for me Anderson East exceeded my expectations. I left Saturday around four, picked up my friend, and off we went. When we arrived we scanned our seating options. People were scattered everywhere. Some on blankets and in chairs on the lawn, some were relaxing under shade of the trees at tables, and then there were some who stood and bopped to the beat. We decided to grab some food, drink, and proceed to finding a nice spot to set our blanket.
Back in the 6th grade at expo elementary school, I had a friend named Solomon. We shared the same interests such as basketball and video games. Solomon was Ethiopian, but I never knew about his family’s struggles in Ethiopia. and how they were refugees and came to America to seek a better education and life for their two sons.
The tickets had been a gift from his brother Shiro, and he couldn't really say he was disappointed. Keith had never tried to go to warped tour before, because it simply wasn't a priority. He felt a little anxious being alone in such a big crowd but when he was surrounded by the people and music he loved, he learned to adjust. The open air smelled of weed and sweat and the hot sun beat down on all of the attendees of this event. It was tempting to sit on a curb and watch as other people passed, but somehow, a worker had caught Keith's eye.
On the way out to California I journeyed with my younger cousins who I escorted home.
Before even entering through the entrance gate, a wave of music blasted through my ears. As I turned towards the noise source, I could see that the entertainment stage was placed right next to the
I glanced around the auditorium and it appeared to a full house. The audience had several nationalities ready to enjoy a night of gospel music. There was a deejay table off to the side entertaining the crowd as everyone arrived at their seats. The stage had band instruments towards the back of the stage with a deejay table in front of them. The lights were beautiful; they displayed various scenes and sceneries throughout the show.
Concerts contain so many sensations. The white chairs being put away, the stage getting placed back on the big black trailer piece by piece, and the quiet shuffles of the last feet leave the stadium; the stadium transforms into the purple and white stadium it once was, leaving no
While walking from class yesterday, I saw something. I noticed there was a group of individuals setting up a tent, electric keyboard, and a few other things amongst these. It was obvious to me as if there was going to be a local concert in the park. I assumed this would be produced by a group of younger people, but it was led by an older group. To me, this was rather interesting since it was as close as Woodruff Park. This was a close location from to my dorm and right outside the location of my class. Unfortunately, I was not able to stay for the first half of the session, but I was able to return for a short time after leaving my meeting.
4. Describe the surroundings and the general ambiance. Did the venue seem appropriate? Did it enhance or detract from the experience?
