How everything back in the U.S? Right now I'm in Panama visiting its different places and people. Over here is Panama it can get sunny and hot. Panama is a really fascinating country but I think the two things I have enjoyed over here was visiting the Panama Canal and learning about the Kuna Indians. Did you know the Panama Canal connects both the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean? The canal is huge! Its 50 miles long and stenches deep in land! The canal according to what I remember was finished in April 1907 by Colonel George W. Goethals. To cross the entire canal took around 8-10 hours !! Though it was nice to see the land around the canal when the ride took off. Also during my trip in Panama I was able to meet and learn about the Kuna Indians

My family and I left for Panama city, Florida in June of 2011. The trip was so fun; we sang songs and laughed hysterically during the whole ride there. When we arrived we were all ready for the beach warm sand and it’s cool waves. We stayed at the beach until about nine and everyone prepared for dinner. Once everyone settled in we sat and ate dinner, as always the dinner was great with my family. Everyone talked about any and everything; we even cracked jokes on each other.
What was the process of my conversion like? I’ll begin with this year, all the way back to my trip in Guatemala. I struggled to understand what belief was and what being a follower of Christ really was. I was trying to understand the faith with my own intelligence, which constantly failed me. On top of that I was living without morals, saying, doing, and thinking whatever I pleased. This all, plus sickness, made my trip to Guatemala very challenging. As the year went on I still tried to live in Christ on my own will, which isn’t living in Christ at all. I would read his word but only some days instead of every day. What I didn’t realize is that I need his word every day. Because this world is evil and unclear, but his word gives ultimate clarity.
Going to Guatemala has changed many of my perspectives of life. I live in a big, flagstone house, in a peaceful neighborhood in Anderson, Indiana. I grew up knowing how blessed and privileged I was, but I did not know the extent. I was so excited to go to Guatemala, travel out of the country, and experience all the amazing
Since traveling to Nicaragua, I find myself perplexed by the Nietzchean idea that language is the enemy of experience. It is difficult to explain in words an experience that is both awe-inspiring and awful, edifying and heartbreaking, beautiful and atrocious. If my time on the Bucknell Brigade was either entirely great or completely horrible, it would be easier to write about. But since the memory inhabits a confusing and ambiguous space between two intense opposites, my voice had withdrawn into silence.
What’s it like being in Guatemala? What’s it like being on a plane? I asked these questions to myself. On June 29, 2012 I had the opportunity to find answers to these questions, however in a way that I wished would have not happened. My reason for going to Guatemala wasn’t to rest and have fun. It was for my grandpa’s funeral, a day that changed me forever. A day where I learned what it really means to be grateful.
Traveling can be enjoyable and frightening at the same time. Being from Honduras, my family would travel back in forth from the U.S. to Honduras every summer. Being able to experience living in two different cultures was a good experience and allowed for a more understanding approach of different societies and how the identity of the people living in those Society’s is unique.
When people think of gifts, they often think of something they have received from Christmas or from a birthday. One of the most special gifts I have ever received was not from a holiday or for a birthday. My most prized gift was from two little girls, Alexandria and Tatianna, in a different country. When I went to the Dominican Republic with a big group of people for a mission trip, I received three colorful bracelets from two of the sweetest girls a few days before we traveled home. These bracelets were my most prized gift for many reasons.
Moving to another country is something that for the majority of people it might be a challenge. The toll of cultural defiances, unfamiliar traditions, society, and language are the most important and consternating struggles that people faced. But changes occur every minute, every second, and everywhere. Changes bring doubt, fear, and even pain to most people. But changes are something that I always look forward to because they alter my perspectives on things. Changes remind me of unpleasant memories, but also about learning experiences. The question of why here and not there, was something that I answered 6 years ago.The answer lied in a series of actions and childhood memories. My life is separated into two geographic locations. The first
My whole family and I were devastated by the sudden death of my uncle Ryan. He had been sick with what we had thought was the flu, but later realized that it was pneumonia. I believe that we learned so much from this experience and were able to come closer as a family. As a result of my uncle’s death, my whole family decided to take a get-a-way trip to the Dominican Republic during his birthday and Christmas. While I was there I learned a very important lesson; I am blessed to live in the United States.
From December 30, 2016 to January 6, 2016 I traveled to Punta Cana, this is located in a Caribbean country called Dominican Republic; it has beautiful beaches and clear waters. Traveling to Punta Cana was an amazing experience. As a result, I had the chance to enjoy the wonderful all inclusive hotel, relax at the Rock Spa and meet great people. I also had the opportunity to travel with my boyfriend and friends so this also made my experience in Punta Cana delightful.
Brian stood up and while gazing at me told Mr. Smith, “I like her idea. I wish for Isabel to accompany David and me to the Dominican Republic today. I want my baby sister home as soon as possible.” Mr. Smith replied, “Mr. Ross, Mr. Johnson is one of our best criminal lawyers and more than capable to handle this case on his own. Isabel is a brilliant attorney, but she is inexperienced.”
In the summer of 2011 when I was the age of thirteen, I reached the biggest milestone in my life; which was going to Nicaragua all by myself. I could remember the day when my dad booked the flight and thinking how my siblings and I would experience where my parents grew up and how things worked in their hometown. It was not until a few days later when my dad walked into my room; seriously but not furiously and said, “Son at your age, you should feel so lucky that you guys have a better life than your mother and I had. The ticket I bought, was for you and only for you; you are the only one going on this trip so, then you know what your mother and I went through to be here to give you guys the life we wanted as a kid.” I did not understand what
Panama is a Main American nation that provides fantastic natural charm and rich regional culture to check out. It surrounds 2 seas, Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. The majority of people have actually come across Panama Canal however it is simply a really little (although essential) part of it. Panama has lovely beaches; mountains with rich forest cover and clean ecological friendly cities.
When you wake up from a coma and you find yourself on an island with only your family. The only thing I remember was flying and then boom, the plane crashed. I was on an island and that is all I remember.
