I am from a little town call Laplace. It is about 40 minutes away from New Orleans, Louisiana. I am a single mother of a beautiful daughter that is two years old, and she is very active! We love to go to New Orleans and visit the zoo, the aquarium, the children’s museum, have picnics at the river front, and more! She is also enrolled in dance classes, which leaves me with little time for my own hobbies. When I found out I was pregnant, I had quit my job, move a hour and a half away from home, took a break from school, and became a stay at home mom. While I enjoyed spending all my time with my daughter, I grew tired of staying home all day and just cleaning and cooking. After a year and a half, I decided to go back to work and found a job as
On the listed date, I, Officer Rivera Ayala, responded to the Bethalto Quick Trip in reference to a counterfeit bill. I met with the clerk and complainant identified as Terry A. Huber who gave me the bill as the suspect identified as Megan M. Feeley (DOB 10/12/1985) was at the register. I asked Megan where she got the bill from. Megan stated that she did not know that the bill was fake, and that she got it from her brother. Megan asked if she would be able to get the bill back. I advised Megan that she would not be able to.
It was my first time going to Knotts and I was with my classmates. Felipe, David, Eric, Leo, and I decided to be in a group. David and Eric were trying to convince Felipe and I to ride Supreme Scream. We were convinced and decided to go on the ride. We never saw how tall it was and when we did Felipe looked at me and asked, “Are you still going on it?” I chickened out because of how tall it was and decided to go on different rides.
I also wrote about "Once More to the Lake", but I enjoy long descriptive sentences. When you read your chosen sentence, did it give you a feeling or, bring you back to a moment in your past? When I read that sentence, it brings me back to laying on the beach smelling the the salty air and listening to the
Have you ever seen the TV show the “Walton’s?” If you have, then you will definitely be able to identify how unique the place was where I was raised. I was raised in North Arkansas in a small community called Onia. In fact, the road that I lived on was called Lawrence Road. It was named this because all of my relatives lived down this road. My Grandpa, who is now a retired Baptist preacher, lived down this road along with his brothers and sisters. The church that I grew up going to was also pastored by my grandfather for over thirty years and it was about two miles down the road. The community bordered the Ozark National Forest so it was very rural and isolated. Most of the traffic on Lawrence Road was mainly the people who lived

I first worked for Summer at Saints last year, as a volunteer unsure of what this experience would entail. Between the first drop-off and the final pick-up, I was quickly impressed, and to some extent intimidated, by its ability to transform. The timid became unafraid, the wild became calm and the rancorous became kind. The experiences of being a volunteer, and seeing these children mature, even in the smallest ways, has been the most rewarding experience at Summer at Saints.
Have you ever been in a situation where you didn’t think you could do it? Well I have many times and I’m going to write about a time during Rodeo when I didn’t think I was going to be able to do well in goat tying.
A crew of men came aboard my land, all beaten up and exhausted from the previous day. Their leader heroically sent some scouts to run around our island but unfortunately for them; they were the appetizers for our main dish. You see we’re what you call “cannibal giants” and to survive we rely on oblivious newcomers or potential washed up humans. Which is why I sent my daughter, Artacia there to lure them back to us but to their misfortune, she led them to my home where I then called for all the other Laestrygonians. My fellow Laestrygonians immediately started to rush their skulls and eat their insides, large heaps of boulders were being thrown right after. Although a few humans got away, at least tonight we’re
As I sat on the couch getting ready for the first day back at school, I heard the phone in the kitchen ring. I stood up to go answer it and I heard loud footsteps coming down the stairs. My mother was running down the stairs to answer it just in case it was one of her work calls. I noticed that her voice started to crack as if she was going to cry and the smile that she once had on her face had disappeared. The person on the other end of the phone was my Uncle Dylan from California calling to let us know that Aunt Liz had died in a car wreck. We were so devastated but little did we know she left me $12k. A couple days later I received a letter in the mail saying that I had to use it to help pay for my tuition. I am looking to attend the nursing program at Lindenwood, Missouri State, or St. Louis University.
I’m Lucia Luciano from Brooklyn New York, every day I cook, I clean, I talk on the phone with my sista, what more do you need? My son has blessed me with two wonderful grandchildren, Marry who is 14 and Joey who is 17. Now don’t get me wrong, I love the kids, I cook for ‘em and buy them clothes, but whenever they come over to the house and I go to give ‘em a smooch on the cheek, they’re nose deep in those phones! Did my father come here from Sicily to have your nose in your phone to find Pokemon? I don’t think so…They’re ridiculous with that Snap…Snap….somethin! I’m makin’ them meatballs in the kitchen and they stick their phone in my face sayin’ “that’s grandma Lucia.” But if I really was the best grandma ever they would help me with the food, am I right?
I’ve always been an outsider, it’s been hard for me to build friendships and relationships. Not too long ago, there I sat in the corner of the room in the way back, trying to hide from the world, and be myself. I didn’t really want to get involved with anything or anyone. I was afraid to open up, talk to others, maybe because I was afraid to get rejected. Until, I met the best people I could ever meet, my best friends Marisa Mendoza, Jessica Contreras and Deseray Reyes, the ones who up to this day have sticked by my side, at my best, and worst moments. They have all been a big part of my life, I can enjoy every minute I spend with them. For me, they aren’t only my friends they are like my sisters.
Prior to attending Algonquin college for my first year in the practical nursing program, I had a rather large break from my academic studies. Being out of school for over five years, I can’t say I remember the entirety of my experiences in English courses. What I do remember, and what stands true to this point, is that I am not very fond of English classes. From as far back as I can remember, I always struggled with spelling and grammar. Throughout elementary, secondary, and post-secondary school, English was always the one subject that I just couldn’t ace. English courses make me feel overwhelmed and anxious, as I know I am being critiqued on the one thing I am not good at.
My nights and weekends so far at Marquette have been pretty relaxed. On nights during the week, I tend to go to the AMU or the library to study and work on homework with friends. Also, on week nights, I have club tennis and try to spend at least an hour working out. If I get all of this done, I usually go back to my dorm to play a little Xbox or go to bed slightly earlier than usual. Weekends are different, in that I focus less on studying. I will hang out with friends at different dorms to watch movies, go bowling, attend any sporting events, play basketball at the rec center, and on Sunday, I finish any homework I have left. For me, this plan has been perfect. It allows me to balance my school work with some fun, keeping me sane.
Around two or three years ago my family and I had to move houses. Moving was sudden and we didn't know it was going to happen. This made moving out and into the other house a lot harder. Since we were moving so fast somethings we just decided to leave behind with the person that was still living there. We got most things with us but one thing that we did leave back in the old place was our living room tv. Since we had just moved and my family isn't rich my mom said we couldn't go get a new one for some time. This sucked because I used the tv a lot for watching show, movies, and playing games just like the rest of my family did. Having a tv wasn't something we needed at all but it was always something to do when you were bored and there was no other things to do. Another big thing was my grandma had just gotten us a new playstation 3 and now we weren't able to used it at all because there was no television. Not having a tv was bummer for me and I thought it was a huge problem when it really wasn’t.
My heart was thumping heavily, as the bus took a turn towards the mountains. I didn’t know why I had agreed, but it was too late to turn back.
