I am currently in my Sophomore year at Loveland High School. I have been working hard toward saving money for my own car so that I am able to commute to work and school. I currently have my temps but will be able to receive my drivers license on my birthday in January. I have ran the idea past my mom of buying a second car for Catherine and me to use. Although, with the financial circumstances we are currently in we can not afford to pay for a second car with just her income alone, as it is far too expensive. This is why I am working hard to make some extra money. I currently have about $1200 saved and I can not work during the school year because of my academic involvement. If i only work during the summer it will be quite difficult for
Being a freshman is the hardest of your four years in high school. Have you ever been pressured to be the best person you can be? This is how my year was as a freshman. Freshman year was the most different I never thought I would of found my way around the school when I first started to go there. Freshman year was the best year throughout my years of high school and it was the only year I had friends. During this year I had a lot of anxieties which dealt with me thinking I’m gonna be alone and not have any friends throughout the year to support me through the whole thing. Also, I would think of the pressure of not doing good in any of my classes so I would think it would affect my GPA in the future. The transition from middle school to high school was a different type of thing to do.
It was the last last few days of summer before I started my Sophomore year of high school. My freshman year I applied and ran to be Sophomore class president, and I won. Before the start of school SGA (Student Government Association) had the responsibility to welcome and show new students around the school. While showing and bonding with new students I meet two new sophomores students named Ethan and Olivia. Ethan was a very attractive young man who was six feet and had nice dark hair, that was swooped to the right. Olivia on the other hand was a very short and pale girl who had orange hair that was very thin. Olivia and I both found Ethan to be attractive, Olivia made it known to me that she liked Ethan. It was the first day of school and
My sophomore year at Buena High School has had a large impact in my life from the sports I’ve played, the people I met, and the knowledge I have gained. This year I played tennis and rode mountain bikes, both of which were for the school. In doing these sports I have met many amazing and talented people that will forever have an impact on my life. Also there is the knowledge that I have gained from my teachers and fellow peers that I will use in the following years to advance my education further.
The most significant challenge I have faced in my whole three years going on to four years of high school would be these last couple years in making a difference in my education. Trying to juggle being a brother, role model, honor student, and a athlete can be quite difficult. At times I feel pressured on being the older brother, so it becomes a challenge in always trying to be the best role model that I can be. However, I remember a time my grades consequently dropped slightly and my father attended with me for a parent conference, unfortunately he wasn't in the best of moods but he set me straight at the beginning of middle school so i wouldn't be who i am today if it wasn't for my father putting me straight.
Back in highschool, I had about a handful of friends. It was our Junior year and around this time I began to realize that friends start to change, and once, especially within a group of friends, thoughts begin to spread, and change the mind of others around them. This happened over the course of my Junior and Senior year at San Leandro High School with my closest of friends, Ian, Andy, Cory, Michael. Between the six, Michael was one of the friends whom I was closest to, Until the minds of the other 3 and I began to think
In all my years of school, I never really enjoyed reading or writing. In elementary and middle school, I didn't hate it but I didn't look forward to it. Although, the books we had to read were not bad and I did enjoy some of them. Once high school came along, all the assignments got harder and my dislike for reading and writing grew stronger. Overall, I would say my Sophomore year was the worst but not because of the assignments but something else bigger than that.
Freshman year I took a chance outside of my comfort zone, and that risk gave me a future in a career I am extremely passionate about. Since freshman year I have been shadowing my high school athletic trainer. I have learned how to; prevent, asses, treat, tape, and rehab a variety of injuries. However, what has fostered my interest in my major is being able to see an athlete through the entirety of an injury. During my sophomore year I was responsible for treating and rehabbing a key player on the lacrosse team. The bond I built with him was something I could've never imagined possible. I had the responsibility of preparing him physically and mentally to return to play. This meant I had to support him when he felt like he would never play as
I'm an immature rambling child at heart and I will most likely always be that way. Immaturity can sometimes be seen as a bad characteristic in people, but I find that to be absolutely false. I love being silly and weird because that's who I am and I don't plan on changing that aspect of myself just because i'm becoming an adult and moving on with my life. I made so many significant realizations during my years of high school. These realizations changed my outlook on life and my morals starting becoming more clear to me. I slowly started to see things differently for what they truly are. Im not saying Im some scholarly intellectual, but I am saying I'm not ignorant. My first realization was nearing the end of my sophomore year at Ravenwood High School.
My junior year at Butler High School really helped learn how to multitask my extracurricular activities and academics.
Freshman year of high school i had to go to tryouts for soccer at this time the total number of kids trying out was over 40 and most of the time the team size was only around 35 so i knew there was gonna be cuts. So at the beginning of the week i showed up and we started practice i felt okay throughout conditioning but then when we went to foot skills i knew immediately that i was lacking a lot. The next day came and we worked on passing which i felt comfortable with as i played center mid 8th grade so i felt above average in that area. The third and final day of tryouts we worked on shooting which i was middle of the line but i had never really played forward .
In my sophomore year of high school, one of my classmates introduced me to join an extra-curricular club that enabled high school students to test their leadership skills by becoming a camp counselor for fifth-grade students at Camp Allegheny. Every time our school hosted club week, she would pull me aside and direct me to the booth labeled “Camp Allegheny.” When the date to turn in Camp Allegheny applications was soon approaching, she would energetically speak about the fun activities, the involvement with the teachers and fifth graders, and the steaming hot chocolate that was to die for.
Not everyone has memories from there junior high years, memories sadly aren’t great I wasn’t considered the best student in the eighth grade, I was always in the office, suspended, and in In-school suspension other than being in trouble all the time my eighth grade year was the best.
“The hardship and all the challenges you go through in life make you who you are,” my mother once said. Thankfully, I haven’t faced many obstacles or challenges in life yet. However, a major turning point of my life occurred when I was in middle school.
My time in High School was made difficult from the constant strife and conflict between my parents. This made my home an unstable environment not fitted for learning or growing as an individual. As I got older and closer to graduating High-School, I began to find my own voice with the help of my mentor Rahn Fleming, which occurred at the end of my junior year. As a result, I came in control of my life and the constant feuding started to die down. No longer did I have to worry about the next scheduled court date, or the next time I would come home wondering what may await. I felt like I was always walking on broken glass for the longest of time throughout my life, until I began to voice myself and what I wanted. My parents came to realize this
During the sophomore year of high school, we received paperwork for the classes we wanted to take Junior year. I took a look at all the amazing classes Avon offered, and decided that I wanted to switch things up and challenge myself. I did this by signing up for two AP classes, AP US History and AP Biology. I thought it would be a great way to challenge myself, because I had never taken any AP classes so far. I also wanted to prove to myself that I was really good in sciences, because I’ve always wanted to become a doctor. This class, I thought at the time, would really open my eyes to Biology and would look great on my transcript for college. I took AP US History because a friend of mine urged me to take it. We heard from others students that the class wasn’t all that bad. We also knew that if struggled with something in this course, we could always depend on each other.
