Thumb: In February, 2015 my family and I went on a road trip to Mexico. The drive there took about 3 days (with stops included) on our way there we passed by a couple states. My least favorite state that we passed by was Arizona. It was my least favorite because it was super hot and the only thing I saw was desert land and tumbleweeds, it looked like a scene of an old western movie the whole drive through there. I liked passing by New Mexico because we stopped at a really cool huge truck stop store place that had a bunch of souvenirs to look at and it had a little room of arcade games that me and my brother got to play on. When we went into mexico the first thing I noticed was the instant change of smell. When we rolled down the windows it smelled like a mixture of homemade tortillas and what it smells …show more content…
The place we stayed at was the house my grandma had my uncles build for when she had guests. My brother and I stayed in a room with twin beds and my mom and dad stayed in the room with one bed across the hall, the rooms reminded me of a hotel. We stayed there for 2 weeks and almost every single day when the sun went down and it was cold as ice out, we all gathered in my tia Maria’s backyard and ate some pan dulce while drinking hot chocolate. Pointer: For my future I want success. “Success is getting what you want; happiness is wanting what you get.”- Dale Carnegie. This is a quote about success that I strongly agree with. The definition of success to me is being happy and doing what you want to do. Whether that be working at McDonalds or being the CEO of a huge company. You need to be happy with who you are and what you are doing. If you are, then in my opinion, you have succeeded. For me to think I am successful in the future I would need to have five
The Articles of Confederation created to be used as a written document that established the functions of the national government of the United States after it had declared independence from the Great Britain. Aside from that, it also established a weak central government that was mostly, but did not entirely prevent the individual states from conducting their own foreign diplomacy.
It was November 20, 2016 the day that I had left for Cancun Mexico. Me, my brother, my mom, and my Grandma and Grandpa all 5 of us in my Yukon Denali on our way the the Hilton Double Tree. It took about an hour and half to get to Chicago Illinois, but on the way there we had to make a few pit stops in Valpo to get my brother some flip-flops that we ended up losing in Mexico. On our way there we had kept in contact with the other 9 people we were going with, My cousin Sean had checked in on us a few times, and asked us how far we were from the place we were heading which was called Portillo's. It's a restaurant that is amazing all of us were going to meet there for dinner before we would all head to the hotel. When we had gotten there my 3
the clothes I was wearing when crossing the borderline between Mexico and the United States. I
Waving goodbye from the backseat of the car, as we pull out of my parent’s driveway. Looking out the window at the oddly, white shaped clouds. Thinking, I had never been away from my parents and my younger sister for so long, even though it was only for two weeks. I was excited and scared all at once, but I wasn’t too thrilled about the whole 29-hour drive there. Hoping that the trip would go well and nothing bad will happen to us.
Every year I go to Mexico, during spring break and summer. It's always relaxing laying on the beach or going on a nice refreshing swim in the 70 degree water. It was an average day down in mexico during the summer of 2017; I remember my family and I relaxing at home after a long day on the boat. I was feeding the street dog because I could tell she was either having puppies, or already had puppies. She was starving to death, her ribs were showing, I knew I had to help her. I started feeding her three times a day so she could start producing milk if she’s already had the puppies; or so she could keep the puppies healthy while she was still pregnant. A few days later I walked outside to feed her, and I hear whimpering like the sound newborn puppies
Two and a half years I have spent in mexico, It didn’t feel like it. It more likely felt like a longer time. Who knew years can go on for so long. This place my dad lived in was so new, The way people talked and looked, very different from mexico. There was new food to try and new places to discover. We traveled and somethings seemed familiar. Well of course I was born here. I lived in the united states since the beginning until mother and father decided to go on a vacation to mexico.
During the summer my family and me went on vacation to mexico to see my grandma at her house it took us 2 days to get to her town is mexico when we got there is was 11 at night my uncle opened the garage door to let us in when we got off the car my grandma opened the door to let us in her house she gave everyone a hug the her and my mom started to cook food for everyone. After everyone got their suitcases out of the car and took them to there room my mom and dad slept in one room, my sister and her daughter slept in another room and my nephew and me slept in the living room. The next day my dad showed me around the town he grew up in where his other family members who lived there, and his aunt who owns a store on the corner of the street. When
It's been eight years. Eight years. Held captive against my will. I'm beginning to believe that I'll also die here.
In the first place, 1930 was hard for most people even though I hadn’t experienced it but my family and I were one of the survivors that lived thanks to my father. My Father died during the dust bowl due to pneumonia. Since my father died my mom is a single parent so I have to go to school. I go to school with a trash bag and out of nowhere people start calling me names like mentally retarded, but I don't care because they are the rich kids here. A few have passed and I started to do things like work go to school and other stuff people do. During the time of school I had better grades than all the students in my class, but one thing that was hard and distracting was my teacher. Sometimes she’d get mad at other students then she would get mad
Currently, as stated above, our children are of ages five and nine. They truly are inextricable towards their father. Fernando Jr. Is currently in 3rd grade at elementary school. He is a very smart child and has a huge heart. On the other hand, Melissa, is truly full of energy, excitement, and is exceptionally intelligent. I know that as a mother, if I have to be away for awhile, it would be devastating for me. It would make me feel angered, anxious, and of course depressed. I would never want to come home to my kids not being able to greet their father like they usually do, with hugs and kisses. Also, knowing that I will not be able to have the financial support of my husband will devastate me. Currently my husband and I are employed. I am
Last summer before school started my sister and I were told that we were going on a trip to Ute Lake in New Mexico. We had never been to New Mexico before, so we were super excited. We were told that we were taking my dad's cousin's jet ski with us. My sister and I could not wait to go to New Mexico.
The Imbalance of Appearance and Reality in Macbeth “There are forces in life working for you and against you. One must distinguish the beneficial forces from the malevolent ones and choose correctly between them” -Abdul Kalam. As one may observe, it is revealed that in classic literature as well as modern time, duplicity is an act that one must decide what is appearance and what the appearance is in reality. In the classic battle of Macbeth, it becomes apparent that when characters make inconsistent decisions they fatally affect themselves or other characters in the play. This tragic play demonstrates that once one is consumed by evil, countries of people loose their ability to express the difference between good and evil, fair and foul,
We had been waiting for this trip for years. Every 5 years we go on a trip to someplace fun. When five years passed after our trip to disneyland we were all waiting to go on some other adventure. I had done this twice, but 2 things about our trip this year were special.
Symbolism and allegory in three aspects of Animal Farm : Old major, The Windmill and The Seven Commandments George Orwell uses symbols throughout the novel Animal Farm to show how the upper class groups use manipulation to their advantage. Animal Farm in simple terms is the allegory of a revolution gone sour. Animalism, Communism, and Fascism are all the symbols which are used by the pigs as a means of satisfying their greed and lust for power. As Lord Acton wrote: "Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely” which is definitely the case. The author uses the animals, the windmill, and the seven commandments to symbolize the extreme power over the animals (workers commune). “Writers such as Jonathan Swift use allegory to
As my eyes lit up like the fourth of July, I stood with my feet stuck to the ground, and my nerves tingle with happiness because of how marvelous it was. I didn't know a Mexico resort could be so nice.
