Have you ever experienced something so amazing that it did not even feel real? I was engulfed in this feeling for the entire 10 days that I was in Hawaii. Now, everything about Hawaii was so magical but there is one memory in particular that sticks out in my mind. We had just landed in Kona, Hawaii. We made it to the house we were staying at and everyone began to unpack. Of course, I could not wait any longer to go explore some of the amazing features that Hawaii has to offer. I finally convinced my family to take the 3-minute drive down to the beach from our rental house. Once we stepped foot on that beach my jaw hit the warm, silky sand. I had never seen anything so beautifully breath-taking. The palm trees danced in the wind, the waves crashed with a mighty force and my …show more content…
I think my brother had the same thought because next thing I knew; I was racing him into the water not even thinking about what I was doing. Let me first just say that this was my first time swimming in the ocean, let alone in the forceful, salty Hawaiian waves. As my brother and I began to get more and more comfortable, we moved out further and further until my mom yelled “okay kids! That’s far enough.” So, either no one told me how to swim in the ocean, or I was too excited to listen, but the message never got across to me on how to swim in the ocean. There is a difference between waves you need to swim under and waves that would do no harm swimming over. I thought I had gotten the hang of it … but then this happened; I heard the sound of an enormous wave approaching and no time to react. I turned around right as the wave was crashing over me. I have never felt a force that strong to have one second been almost up to my shoulders in water to the next, completely submerged underwater being carried by the waves. I heard nothing but water rushing all around
When I started writing this, I had no clue what it would be about. I was told “It has to be perfect.” “It has to explain you without you explaining yourself.” “You have to give it meaning without being asked for anything.” “If it isn’t good enough, admission officers won't give your application a second glance.” So, I put off writing it, pondering it over and over in my mind. I’m so glad I put it off, because until recently, I didn’t know what it was keeping me in Hawai’i. My mom lives in Oregon now, and I had the option to move with her because she still has custody. Something kept me here, though, and I wasn’t sure what. Through reminiscing and building more memories, I realized what it was. It was how much I love being Hawaiian. The food,
While growing up, I was always told that once you have hit rock bottom, you have nowhere else to go but up. That advice always seemed to come from relatives that had just had a life changing events happen and were just trying to be optimistic. I never realized how true it was until I became homeless in Hawaii.

America is often called the melting pot of cultures, welcoming various cultures and traditions, but the real gem that holds this title is located in the Pacific ocean. This place is called Hawaii and it is a place I am so proud to be from. The culturally diverse atmosphere of Hawaii has grown deep into my bones to become a part of what I am and what inspires me. From the rich languages that drift through this land to the many laughs and the smell of many mouthwatering foods that is carried through the air to various cultures and ethnicities blend together to create a beauty similar to the famous hawaiian sunsets. Seeing that Hawaii is such a diverse location it has introduced me to so many cultures I have fell in love with, many traditions
When I think about the culture I come from, I immediately think about my Japanese and Filipino lineage. I also think about Hawaii, and how growing up there has shaped me today. This are only parts of the equation to my cultural identity. No matter what nationality or country you grow up in, each person is exposed to different ideals that mix in with their background culture. I would like to look at my cultural identity by looking at some traditions in Hawaii, the organizations I’ve been a part of, and my own unique personal identity. Each of these has played a role in shaping my own cultural identity.
How is everyone doing and did anything change? Hawaii has very warm consistent weather, but I miss our home cooked meals and the different types of weather. Especially the springtime when the whole family would sit under the cherry blossom tree and gaze at the beautiful pink leaves as they would fall. 10 years ago, when I first arrived for my marriage, I thought the pay would be wonderful because there were so many rumors around the neighborhood and everyone was talking about it. I was excited that life would be like paradise and that is why I thought it would be completely fine to sign the contract that I didn’t even understand, to work here, but we were completely wrong.
I didn’t think I would ever have the opportunity to go somewhere so beautiful and magical as Hawaii. The waterfalls surrounded by the thick canopy of trees were so calming and amazing.
I am available to relocate to Hawaii within the first or second week of August. Due to the fact that I am very interested in this position, I am inclined to order my tickets so that it fits with your schedule. Is there any date that is best for you to schedule an interview?
I had just arrived at Haleakala national park in Maui, Hawaii. I thought this was going to be a normal day, but it definitely has not. The day already started off crazy because when we got there we put the cooler down and the Hawaiian state bird the Nene goose took the cooler so we had no lunch. Me and my family still went on with our day. First we bought our tickets at the ticket booth the man told me and my family that the park was established August 1,1916. Then we moved along realizing it was a hot day we packed a lot of water but, that was in the cooler so I did not think with no food and no water we would make it that far into the day my mom just said if we wanted to go to the crater we would have to tough it out. So as me and family were still complaining about the food we stumbled upon a man who looked like he was native of Hawaii we asked him a little
Have you ever met a new special friend? I have back in 2011,I was as tiny as a mouse.I was at least 3,4,or 5 years old when I met her.
Robert sneered, “We’re here to work, not to pray.” Only two weeks passed since I joined Kupu to volunteer for seven-weeks. My team started our first day working in the forest. Although I joined this program to save Hawaii's environment, I found myself lodged between cultures when at 4 a.m. Kama woke us to chant.
Growing up somewhere as beautiful as Maui has taught me the important values that define who I am today. One place specifically enlightened me of the value that I strive to fulfill each day, which is to live in the moment and appreciate where I am . Prior to this experience I lived in fear of the unknown future that was out of my control.
It's the summer of 2014 and we're Finally taking our dream trip to Hawaii. It was about a year and a half ago When my mother’s friend marlin asked her if she wanted to come and visit her in O’ahu Hawaii where her husband was stationed at for the army. After that day my mother started saving money for the long trip to O’ahu Hawaii. If it wasn't for marlin We wouldn't be going on the trip that I have always wanted to go on.so at last it was time to go on our once in a lifetime trip to Hawaii.
