Now for the generous bunch in society I have excellent news. Remember last month at the diabetes fundraiser where you wanted to contribute a large sum of money; let’s say you wanted to contribute $2000 however decided instead that it would be wiser to contribute $1000. Albeit, at the time it may have seemed to be the right decision I’m here to explain why it is more feasible to donate twice the amount with it being even more fiscally responsible than donating half the amount. How is this possible? Let me explain. Now let’s consider two scenarios, the former being the more applicable one and the latter being more conspicuous however still considerable. Now imagine donating for the first time to a youth fundraiser, Being that you’re a first
I feel truly blessed to have a second chance in life. My life changed drastically when diagnosed with stage 2 cancer. Not only was my life impacted, my family member’s lives were affected too. Cancer is a serious illness that takes a very strong person to overcome. Being a survivor is a huge accomplishment in life. Any person that builds a strong enough immune system to surpass the array of illness produce from the sickness is looked upon as a hero. A cancer survivor is a unique individual. Cancer is a very powerful and harmful disease that affects human being on a daily basis.

Wow, I did not expect this to happen. As my son and I grab all of our belongings and put all of the furniture in the attic where it won't get water damage we hurry to get out.”Jack get the dogs and put them in their crates while I get the jet skis ready.” Have you ever seen so much water! That picture is of my house underwater, sad right. It is August 25, 2017 and the huge amount of water just hit our house. As we get on the jet skis with cloths, money, 2 dogs, and some belongings my son and I start bawling and yelling; we don't know if we'll ever step foot in our house again.
I woke up on Christmas morning to the sweet smell of coffee coming from down the hall. I jump up with excitement put my red fluffy slippers on and make my way to the kitchen telling myself that today is going to be an unforgettable day.
A large part of my position was to support the Fundraising Coordinator in the event planning of the MS Walk, the Canada Day Pedal Parking and the MS Bike. The tasks were often divided into three categories, pre-event, day of event and post-event. My pre-event role was focused on promotion of the event, site prep and ensuring strong participation. I attempted to make myself available for any type of tasks. The fundraising coordinator delegated the calling of past participants to me. At first, I was a bit hesitant to call and ask for money and participation as it was something I had never done. However, after asking questions to and developing a script with my fundraising coordinator I was able to complete the task and in turn sign up 20 or more extra participants. In pre-event preparation my favorite task was to create the promotional posters and handouts. I used to my advantage my creativity to create the posters for the Canada Day Pedal Parking and the decorations for the MS Walk.
The transition from small town high school to the third largest city in Wyoming for college was, at first, a challenge. I was removed from the familiarity of not only my family and community, but also routine service projects I had cultivated for years.
My score is 239, which means I am at a moderate life crisis. According to Holmes-Rahe scale, I have a 50% chance of illness such as a headache, diabetes, fatigue, hypertension, chest, back pain, ulcer and infectious disease. I happen to have frequent headaches that appear to be stress headaches, and I was diagnosed with diabetes six months ago. Currently, having increased fatigue, maybe due to the lack of sleep. Additionally, started taking omeprazole six months ago due to a right mid-abdominal pain that my doctor believe could be an ulcer. I made changes in my eating habits and lifestyle when diagnosed with diabetes; however, I have long ways to achieving wellness.
This is it. Today will be the day to end the mystery of all the fainting I have been doing lately. I had my blood tested a couple of weeks ago, because my mom thinks I am diabetic. I don't think I am, but it's always better to be safe then sorry. I can't keep still, I really want to know what has been causing me to faint.
At the pool I seen a new face in the deep end of the pool. Ryley was running in the water for 30 minutes. She said that she is a runner and trains for marathons and half marathons since college. She can’t run currently due to an ankle injury. She got a membership to the Y about 3 months ago so she could do water therapy here. The morning time is when she use to come but she can only make it in the afternoon now. We talked for a bit about different events that we ran in high school and the events that I currently run at HBU. She seems excited to be at the Y for her training. It’s good to see that the Y is able to have a pool for people who are looking for water therapy.
The topic that interests me the most is disease prevention. My son was born with a developmental learning delay and sensory processing disorder. It hasn’t severely affected his ability to learn and socialize because he received different types of therapy since the age of 2-½. Since that time I was interested in researching the causes, symptoms and treatments of these disorders in order to support him socially and academically. My interest in disease prevention became more fascinating when some of my relatives and close friends informed me that they were battling different types of diseases such as breast cancer, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, alcoholism, opioid addiction, depression, psoriasis, tachycardia and Paget’s disease. I wanted to
My grandma’s strength pushed her into remission, but the cancer came back. I brought her to chemotherapy treatments. I chatted with her about school and the classes I was excited to start next year. Throughout her fight she never made anything about her; she always focused on me and how I was doing. I used to watch her in the kitchen every holiday, making a dinner for twenty-five without breaking a sweat. Eventually I watched her struggle, needing more help than she wanted to ask for. I witnessed her become victim to cancer, I never lost sight of the woman she was and neither did she, strong.

Imagine how great it would be if every human was warned they have cancer right in the moment it starts, it would save thousands of lives. The most dangerous thing about cancer and the reason why thousands of people die from this terminal disease is because generally the symptoms don’t show in the first two stages when the disease is developing and once the disease is strong that’s when the symptoms start showing. Finding the cure for cancer would be one of the greatest scientific discoveries, but that’s going to take some time. While we keep searching for this cure the closest thing we can have is something that will help us save most of the people, and my invention is going to do that.
Manila: A megacity where the living must share with the dead ( Jenny Kleeman’s Article )
The death penalty discriminates and marginalizes minorities and the poor in our society. Legal systems are unfair therefore the death penalty is imposed unfairly since equals are not treated equally. The richest man alive is not treated the same as a homeless individual on the streets of downtown Toronto. There are many flaws in the justice system mostly because it is made up of individuals and as individuals we are prone to making mistakes. Witnesses, prosecutors and jurors can create the smallest error and their collected testimonies determine the result of an individual on trial and whether they shall live another day. It is clearly inevitable that innocent people will be convicted wrongly based off of human testimony hence it is
