Personal Narrative: My Interview At Barnard

My personal faith grows daily by my choice to follow my love and savior, Jesus, every day I wake up. It was by no accident that God showed me Liberty University, and has now become a top option in my choices of colleges. I believe in the deep mission Liberty University has to develop Christ-centered believers because it is the same mission I strive to live out daily in my walk as a follower of Christ. My season of life will not always be the same as someone else's, but I pray that what I have walked through and what God taught me in those seasons can give perspective to others. I have grown up always knowing God but not until my sophomore year in high school did I truly start to live that out. I took two opportunities in the past two years

When I first heard about Berry College, I thought it was just another school in Georgia. My friend told me about it and I thought maybe I should look into it. I put it aside for some time until I saw a picture of this beautiful building. I was taken away by the architecture so I looked up the building and realized it was part of Berry College. I feel like in that moment, I felt in love with the surroundings of the school. I looked more into it and saw that it had everything I was looking for. The environment, the classes, and the activities, it was just perfect. So I have to say that I'm attracted to the feel of the campus and the never ending size. I know what I see it's only on the outside, but I can't wait to see what it has to offer inside.

During my two last years of high school, i've been in contact with a lot of colleges and universities. Many of which don’t get my attention. Throughout my whole high school years, there was only one college that i wanted to go to, Liberty University. I have heard so many wonderful things about Liberty and what i loved the most was that it was a christian school. Liberty had the number one thing that i am looking for in a college, that is a christian school, but many of my other things that i look for in a college where just not there. I used to live in Florida approximately 11 years ago and let me tell you, it's hard not to miss the sunshine state. Liberty is in Virginia, a state where it doesn't feel like home. East Carolina University is and has always been a dream school for many students including myself. I have grown up hearing about the University and it is nothing short of spectacular. Many family members of mine have attended East Carolina, and I have always pictured myself at this school. It would be an honor to be a pirate. Throughout high school I have struggled in Science and Math. I know I could have done better in high school but in life you can always do something better, im eager to push myself more and work harder than ever to succeed as an adult, if given the chance There are many times when I should I have put school in front of my extra curricular activities such as dancing, art, work, tennis, and swimming. National Honors Society is an amazing opportunity to be chosen for. By being accepted, it shows that the hard work that I have done in the classroom, and in the community have done well for not only the community but for myself as a person. Since I have started High-school, I have done many volunteer hours at my church. I have done many things such as help lead game-time for the little ones during a learning program called Awana. Awana is a program done by some churches to help raise children to love and serve God. I also help most Sundays in the sound room at church. In the 2013 fall semester, I entered Bronx Community College to pursue Dietetics and Nutrition Science, and by grace, I successfully graduate with an Associate in Science (A.S.) degree. Base on my dream, I already took all the nursing prerequisites courses. The prerequisites courses that I took are Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Sociology, English Composition I and II, Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Probability and Statistics, Human Development, General Chemistry I and II, Microbiology and Infant Control, History and many more.

       On Thursday, August 20th 2015 I was accepted into College of Southern Nevada. On Friday, August 21st, 2015 I arrived onto the CSN West Charleston Campus at around seven o'clock in the morning to be one of the first people to take the math, reading, and writing placement tests for the day. After I took the placement tests, I went to the Student Recruitment office and spoke to a woman named Kimiko Walton. I told Kimiko about what happened to me and she recruited me. Afterwards, I purchased my textbooks from the bookstore (a typical mistake made by college freshmens). As I existed the double doors of the CSN bookstore, I told myself: "Nobody can give me the life I deserve expect myself..." On

Wilmington started out as home, then became just a vacation. After years of moving and resisting the pull to move back, I finally made the best and brightest decision I think I have ever made. I am moving home, and in the process, I thought there would be no better place to further my education than The University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I have recently taken a year off in between high school and pursuing my college education, and frankly, I think it has been one of the most humbling experiences of my life. I have learned to appreciate everything that was taught by my parents and the schooling I have received. Last year was my first year as a college student. After much anticipation, I was finally starting my university career and studying what I wanted. Classes started and everything was okay, but deep down I knew I wanted to study away from home. When graduating high school I had decided to stay, thinking it was the smartest decision since going to college is not the easiest transition and adding going to another country would have been too much for me. But two weeks into my first semester I decided to start my research.

As I sat on the couch getting ready for the first day back at school, I heard the phone in the kitchen ring. I stood up to go answer it and I heard loud footsteps coming down the stairs. My mother was running down the stairs to answer it just in case it was one of her work calls. I noticed that her voice started to crack as if she was going to cry and the smile that she once had on her face had disappeared. The person on the other end of the phone was my Uncle Dylan from California calling to let us know that Aunt Liz had died in a car wreck. We were so devastated but little did we know she left me $12k. A couple days later I received a letter in the mail saying that I had to use it to help pay for my tuition. I am looking to attend the nursing program at Lindenwood, Missouri State, or St. Louis University.

During admission into Bronx Community College, I faced one of the most stressful predicaments academically. After applying, and having my transcripts mailed, I waited about two weeks before calling to ensure the transcripts were received. An admission counselor confirmed all transcripts were received and in the process of being reviewed. Five weeks later, during the first week of registration, I was informed one of the transcripts had been misplaced. Avoiding any further delay, I hand delivered the missing transcript. A few weeks later, I received a registration appointment. I was put on a list, received a number, and waited 9am to 5pm on a line for two days until my name was called. The first word that comes to my mind when I think of Rutgers University is the place of opportunities. Variety of successful people with good experience are being a member of this society would be full of blessing and beneficial privilege. As a future Rutgers student as I wish , I am sure I will be able to combine my strength , patience and thinking level with the high level of education in Rutgers . I am proud to say I came from Egypt ; the country of great culture and intelligent scientists and mathematician. I also was picked to join the national honor society in my school as I have the highest GPA. I felt anxious about attending RU. Now that I have been here a week I am feeling motivated. Living close to campus gives me the ability to be completely immersed in the college lifestle, therefore, allowing me to have the chance to join various clubs and the chance to use the many resources that will advance my academic career. Being able to join a club here at Rutgers will help me be able to feel like a Rutgers student. The amount of opportunities this school has is endless, and I plan on taking full advantage of such benefits.

During my high school days and the last few semesters when I was at Sandhill Community College I was way too comfortable. I slacked off and all I was thinking about was just getting doing the minimum to just be finished already. Recently, I was pushed by the looks of my grades that I just needed to get things done; I wanted to be free, not to do my best, just to finish so I could say I passed all my classes. Now I realize life isn’t about just getting by, but about bringing all you have to be able to become successful in what needs to be done. In the next paragraphs I will explain what I expected to happen, what actually happened, what I learned, and how I will apply what I learned to future plan.

Throughout my educational experience I noticed the discrepancies with regard to the advantages my peers possessed. In high school as I began exploring what career I wished to pursue, I experienced inferiority as my classmates who’ve taken the ACT three times, visited college campuses, and have had resumes ready since the 6th grade unintentionally mocked my lack of college-readiness. However, my ignorance wasn’t intentional, my parents never reached a high school education in Mexico, they couldn’t pass down SAT tips or acquire internship opportunities for me. I realized it's vital to pick up the pace to avoid being left in the dust akin to countless others in my situation. Henceforth, this statement resonates with my experience, I interpreted
