My high school education has prepared me for my next steps after graduation. There has been people that have help me get prepared for the next step and some of the education has helped me for the next step. School has prepared me because I known the basic skills needed out in the real world. Like math has help me get prepared for the money troubles and English has helped my right a resume to get a better job. The people have helped me be prepared and that have made me stay creativite are my family and a bunch of teachers. You not only need logic in life but also need creativity. Because without a creative side people wouldn’t be able to get creative with a project or maybe even a new invention. It’s like what Robison sad in a ted talk
My palms were sweating, my heart was racing, I had no idea what to expect or who I was going to meet. I was never the type of girl to embrace new situations, I hated change and I wasn’t very good with meeting new people. I figured once I got to high school it would be my chance to start all over, turn the page in my book of life, and flip over a new leaf. I wanted to finally be the girl that fit in with everyone. I had imagined myself going to parties with big groups of my new friends, having sleepovers and doing all of the things cool high school kids normally do. I was certain that my high school career would be just like one of those really corny teen movies and I would live happily ever after with the homecoming crown and the boy of my
Going through high school the days were all the same, except for game days. There was just something different about the culture of the school. You could almost feel the excitement in the air. Every “Good luck tonight,” that was received made it feel like the whole school was rooting for me. This was my senior year and tonight was an especially big game. The game that night would decide if we made playoffs and if I could step on the court as a Hawk again.
one of the biggest decisions of my life was choosing a major for my post high school education. Many people seem to have a general idea to what they would like to major in at a relatively young age while others have a more difficult time deciding what to do with their future and sadly I was one of those unlucky few.
As the hallways emptied, the three girls gathered into Desiree’s blue saturn car. Ironically, though her car was beat up, she had managed to dress in only the best and most expensive clothes items. Many were skeptical of her work ethics, and the fact that her bag cost more than her car, but her friends were not. She had always been brutally honest so her friends never questioned why she would never wear the same outfit twice.
During high school, I feel that I’ve grown a lot as a person. Even though I still have a significant amount of growth left to do in college, my family, religion, community, and the various experiences I’ve had in high school have allowed me to mature and become a more enlightened person.
I had a very rough ending to my high school career. I was quite adament on doing my assignments independently, so I failed multiple classes over my sophmore and junior years. I was behind on the credits I needed in order to graduate and walk. My senior year, I had to retake 4 classes worth of credits and pass all my current classes to graduate. Through all that year long grinding and work, I finished my my credit recovery classes a whole month early. Without putting the idea of not actually graduating with my friends and disappointing my family, I probably wouldn't have done all the work I needed to graduate. Having a goal and the mindset to actually go and achieve it is paramount to actually get somewhere in life.
When kids are first asked what they want to do when they grow up they typically list off things like a princess, superhero, fireman or a pilot. As everyone grows up these interests begin to morph as they mature and experience events. Since I started my high school career I have involved myself in many different activities that have shown a light on the type of career that I would like to purse at Indiana University.
Throughout my four years of high school i have experienced many challenges that either set my down or brought me up. As a young adult, i feel like there is so much more to learn ahead of me, other than, learning how to solve a math problem or the history behind many of our countries treasuries. For example, in the article “Into Thin Air”, Krakauer explains, someone who sees the summit would be dead set on getting there and be “very difficult to turn ..around…”(226). Similarly, i have struggled with many things, such as, beating sleep to be able to finish assignments on time and sacrifice my time with my friends and family because i would be in such hurry to finish something that would change my grade drastically the next day, but see my
My high school years were going well the first three years since I came to the United States from Nepal in 2012. I was able to adjust enough through this transition although I confronted some difficulties as it was a new experience for me. I was focused on my goal; however, I struggled after we moved to Chesapeake from Norfolk at the end of September, 2015. It was the beginning of my senior year in a new school. There wouldn't have been much difference if the school system was the same, or if we hadn't moved suddenly in middle, but The classes here run everyday whereas Norfolk has an A-B class system. When I came here, I realized that I had a lot to make up for my AP classes, it was a challenge. The first day of school was a disaster for me,
Developing into a mature, educated adult is like building the perfect sundae. It all starts with cream, sugar, and vanilla beans. After a time, cream becomes ice cream, ready for hot fudge, peanuts, and whipped cream.
Throughout my high school education, there have been many factors that contributed to my performance. Some were out of my control and others were solely my actions. I take full responsibility for not pushing myself to try harder in school. Some circumstances made this difficult, at the time I lived at home with my mother, sister, and brother but then one day it all changed. First, my brother joined the Marines and left home and soon after my sister followed and joined the Air Force and also left. Since my mother is a single parent, my siblings contributed a lot financially and helped her tremendously. For this reason, she began to work even longer hours. To attempt to help my mother, I started working a lot when I turned 16. My mistake was
My time in High School was made difficult from the constant strife and conflict between my parents. This made my home an unstable environment not fitted for learning or growing as an individual. As I got older and closer to graduating High-School, I began to find my own voice with the help of my mentor Rahn Fleming, which occurred at the end of my junior year. As a result, I came in control of my life and the constant feuding started to die down. No longer did I have to worry about the next scheduled court date, or the next time I would come home wondering what may await. I felt like I was always walking on broken glass for the longest of time throughout my life, until I began to voice myself and what I wanted. My parents came to realize this
Something I chose not to do probably could have made my time in highschool much more fun and exciting. I decided not to get involved more in high school, maybe it was cause I was nervous to try new things, and it’s made me wonder what else I could have experienced. nI also think that maybe it would help me get into the college I want to go to if I got more involved. However, I also really like how my high school years are going for me now, but I feel as if it could have been better.
When I was in 6th grade I was a good student, I had straight A’s the first 3 quarters, I turned in all of my work, and always paid attention in class. But as the year went by and I started making more friends at middle school my grades went down all the way to a C. For me getting a C at the time was one of the worst things that could happen. I ended up the year with 3 semesters of straight A’s and one semester with a couple of C’s. Moving on to 7th grade was worse I finished the school year with only getting like 5 A’s in all 4 quarters. Then 8th grade came and my grades went all the way down to an F, but I managed to bring back up to at least a C to be able to graduate. I wasn’t happy with my grades though so I told myself that I was going to bring them up in high school.
My education background for high school was that I went to a school called southwest senior high that was a great school we were an A school all my four years. Through my high school years I was in the dance team. And my senior year was so exciting because I was on the business program team and there I won three awards and I competed on district level. Also I attended Miami Dade north campus for one year and that’s where I did all my prerequisite course which I thankfully passed. The reason why I picked this profession is because I love animals and I feel like everyone in the world helps humans but nobody cares for animals there’s very few people that care for animals. Also I feel like the poor animals don’t have a voice to say when there
