I was running around from tent to tent and it was chaos I was scared, but I needed to help the people that were hurt it was my job. As a German plane buzzed overhead I, nurse Helen Doyal dropped face down in the mud. As an American nurse serving at a British Army base hospital near the Western Front in 1918, it's my job to help the wounded people and soldiers who fight. I just wanted the day to be over! Then, everything started to die down, the planes left, the people were less scared, but there were so many people who were on the ground, just lying there. On that day, more than 2,000 people had died that I could have saved. I woke up the next morning in my tent that had been reserved for me because I was a doctor. This morning's breakfast
