This summer was a busy one, let me tell ya! I was either riding the metro in Washington D.C., playing basketball and volleyball, or working with and showing my cattle! Even though it was a busy summer I still found some time to relax and have fun with friends! Summer is my favorite time of year! The first thing I did this summer was go on a trip to Washington D.C. with the FFA. It was an awesome experience. I was able to see most of the monuments and some museums. You could live in Washington D.C. your whole life and still not see everything there. While I was there I was able to meet so many awesome people from all over the U.S. I made so many friends that I still keep in touch with today. I’ve been able to do so many things within the FFA
for four years I have been an active member in,the Edmond FFA and FFCLA.Within these four years I have involved myself in the Edmond FFA Farm Business Management Academic Team and as a goat livestock showmen for two years. I have involved myself in two different Edmond schools FCCLA’s, within all four of these years, I have become apart of the club officer team, Star Event, been a representative in many District 3 meetings, including the leadership conference. During the summer, for every year for six years I involved myself in teaching Vacation Bible School, in both Texas and
I have been a member of the Albert Lea FFA for five years. I have taken just about every opportunity to come my way from this program. I have participated in dairy cattle evaluation, general livestock, meat evaluation, and small animal care contests in the last 5 years. I attended Greenhand day, as well as SGLC and SLCCL the last three summers. I am proud to say I have been the top fruit sale seller the last 3 years as well. My proudest moments in FFA have been while serving as Historian in 2014 and President in 2015-2016. I led almost all of our club's activities as our advisor was on health leave. I have attended State and National Convention for 3 years also. I worked and organized our county fair food stand, while exhibiting animals at
I had a very busy, yet fun summer. It went fast, but I had a good time. My summer mostly consisted of; playing baseball, going on vacation, and attending my family reunion.
I have had different leadership roles throughout my time here at Redwood. I have been an FFA officer for two years now, and in those two years I have been a leader to those in my chapter. As an FFA officer, my leadership was based on providing the member with someone who they could follow their guidance and as someone to encourage them to continue down their path involved with our chapter. From encouraging the freshman, who are brand new to not only our chapter but to highschool to step out of their comfort zone and attend a meeting they never would have attended or to get over a fear and participating in a public speaking event, or to encouraging our juniors and seniors, kids who I’d refer to as “seasoned” in our chapter to continue to participate
During the summer vacation I mostly helped my mother clean the house. I spent the holiday with my aunts and uncles and it was a lot of fun. I love taking photos as well, when I was in the 6th grade I took a photography course at school and I took many beautiful pictures.
Throughout my high school years I have achieved more than I thought I ever could. I began to get involved with the Evergreen FFA due to my family background of farming. As I got more involved I decided to run for an office and today I am president of the Evergreen FFA and a State Degree recipient. One thing I love about my experience in FFA is getting to help people in need and making our community a better place through all of the community service that we do. For example we go to christmas cheer to help local people in need during the holiday season. We also collect can food items for thanksgiving dinners for the less fortunate in the area.
FFA is a program that I can express who I really am and not be ashamed or embarrassed or before even judged. FFA made me begin to realize that I can help my community and make it great. I would always get all these ideas to do servicing learning. I have this awesome idea of doing Earth Week. It is the week of 18th to 22nd and all week is activities related to earth. I plan to be fundraising all week so we may have a great start to paying for Africa. My goal is to get $12,500 and I believe I will reach my goal and nothing may get in the way. The trip cost five thousand dollars and once we are done fundraising for the week, I plan to split it with everyone who is going to Africa. Now you may be asking what as this improved me as a person? Well, I have so many ideas for people to get involved with the community even if they are not in FFA and make a team and make the goal happen. All because of FFA, I stopped having a fear of public speaking. I would just avoid going up in front of the group of people. FFA gave me the skill to teach kids
In high school, I had a very positive experience throughout, but perhaps the most memorable experience would come from my involvement with the FFA. I remember the Ag classes was unlike any other classes on campus because we would go to the school farm to learn from hands-on experiences. My teacher Mrs. Keverline would become more than just a teacher for me she would become a role model. Mrs. Keverline would help me improve with showing pigs as my SAE project, she teaches me about the importance of agriculture, and lastly, she helps made me into the public speaker that I am today. In FFA I had the opportunity to do public speaking competition or event and at the time I was scared to do them, but glad I did because it helps me out in the long.
This summer was full of tons of fun activities and places! I went to Tennessee, Mackinac Island, the lake, and went camping. I also did other things like shopping, the fair, the movies, and cheer camp! Something very big that happened this summer is that I became a big sister! Even though becoming a big sister is very memorable, my favorite part of summer was going Mackinac Island and I have so many great memories there that I can’t wait to tell you about!
Then there were 12 more days until school. So that meant time for School shopping. I had a great summer. It was very fun I got to hang out with friends at the touch of the Dutch festival in Demonte. I got to rearrange my room like puts things in different places around my room. The other thing I did was sleep in and I went to Wisconsin with my mom’s family it was really fun in Wisconsin. I got a new dog and her name is Jipzy she is a Bullmastiff. So that was my summer I think It was pretty
In my first year as a Freshman FFA member I had no idea what to expect in the FFA, yet I was challenged and excited to participate because I saw how much the organization had changed my brother. I was driven to be the first one to say the FFA creed to my advisor on the first day of school, and who knew this personal drive was just the beginning of my FFA career and the endless opportunities provided to me in the past three years. As a freshman I was elected a Greenhand officer and was able to attend my first National FFA Convention. I was taken under my brother’s wing, and he was able to show me the pathways and his passion for the FFA, thus I began to love the organization more and more as the year progressed. My Freshman year I tried out
What I did this summer. That`s a good question to be honest, I did a lot of things that were considered fun for me, like shopping, hanging out with my family, hanging out with my friends, going to the beach, the water park and much more. But I will only break it down to two or three of my favorite things I did this Summer, so stick around to see what my favorite things about this Summer were.
What distance can one travel if one doesn’t take the first step? I had never really thought about this until the end of 2015, when I was asked to participate in FFA Creed Speaking. When my advisor first asked me, I completely turned her down. I wanted nothing to do with speaking in front of people. Talking in front of people just wasn’t my thing, but after persistent asking, I finally agreed to do it.
I know you 've been busy, and it 's been a busy summer for us too. My
My favorite season of the year is summer because of the warm weather, the school vacation, and the endless fun. I really enjoy the warm weather because it’s the perfect atmosphere to do outdoor activities. My favorite part about summer has to be the fact that school is closed for two months. During summer, you’re free to do whatever you want, not worrying about curfew or waking up early for school. Summer time is a great time to relax with friends and family by soaking up the sun at a beach or simply having dinner together.
