I have a big passion for sports. To me sports and physical fitness is a lot of my life. I play lots of sports including football lacrosse and power lifting. When I went to go and get my gear the associate asked if I was a new at playing. I told him I was and he told me that I would most likely love the sport and continue playing for as long as I could. So I ended up getting my stuff and I was so excited when I got my stuff it was crazy. It felt like i just woke up and it was Christmas morning. So I had my first game about a week later. The night before my game I felt like the next morning was Christmas. The first time that in ever played lacrosse was when I was about 9 years old. It was so fun I had butterflies in me. I was so nervous when
From an early age Jordan Rudd, now a high school senior at Brownsville Veteran’s Memorial High School, demonstrated the athletic talent and the necessary dedication to excel. Jordan’s father, Brownsville CBP Officer Michael Rudd, was able to recognize that raw talent and competitiveness which is unusual for a six year old. Officer Rudd worked with his daughter molding her and providing her with the skills and technique she would need to make it on the basketball court. When Jordan got to high school, she already had a reputation as a sports prodigy, but what made her stand out was her commitment to the team and her good sportsmanship.
So far Chris McCandless in the book “Into The Wild” has revealed some of his characteristics as an individual. Chris portrayed a stubborn but determined attitude. His will to conquer whatever is in his path is sadly over shadowed by his ignorance to listen to anyone. An example of this is when Chris’s father states “Chris had so much natural talent, but if you tried to coach him to polish his skill, to bring out that final ten percent, a wall went up” (Krakauer 111). Chris was very talented in sports but his refusal to gain real skill from others was his downfall. However, running was a sport that Chris excelled in despite his stubbornness. Chris was so in love with running and he was determined to do it. However, Chris’s will to win was larger
Over my years of school, one big influence on me has always been sports. Ever since a young age, I have always enjoyed playing and watching sports. In my four years in high school, I have fell in love with the sport of lacrosse.
I woke up and took one bite out of my pop tart but that one bite was all I could eat. My legs were shaking, and my heart was pounding. My dad told me, “It is a true honor to even make it this far so go out there and have some fun.” Once I heard this statement, I knew I was ready to go. I arrived at school and boarded the bus. The car ride was an hour and fifteen minutes of hearing the squeaking of the wheel on the bus. My teammates were getting their heads ready for the big game.
When it comes to my passion most don’t understand it the way I do. For the past three years my passion has been lacrosse. Since I was a freshman at Sandalwood High School my interests for the sport have grown and my devotion and commitment have reached new limits. Most people don’t understand lacrosse, they just know that it is a sport “with sticks and stuff”, and while I don’t take offense to ignorance; sharing my passion with others is never a burden. Lacrosse is one of the biggest parts of my life as of now and I believe it will continue to be for many years to come, but there’s more to the sport than most people know. Lacrosse has a history behind it older than any other sport in America, as well as the fact that as of now,
It was once said that baseball is America’s greatest pastime. It dates all the way back to the 18th century, with a multitude of versions being played. Baseball is a game of intensity, athleticism, skill, and the mind. A lot of people have heard of baseball and have probably watched a game on TV, or at least part of a game. I however, would much rather be playing the game instead of watching it.
The first chapter of “The Maze Runner” really gets me excited for the rest of the book. I enjoy how it leaves the reader plenty of room to wonder what will happen later in the book. It has an interesting vocabulary that includes some of the slang words that the people of the glade made up. It seems that the plot of the book will quicken very quickly as already there is a lot of foreshadowing hinting toward some unknown beast and a giant maze. I predict that Thomas’s arrival will trigger some sort of issue that he will have to resolve. Just the first chapter has gotten me very excited for the rest of the book.
My first example of one of my peices of work is my Garage Sale flyer. I choes this as one of my examples because it demonstates my understandings of our unit all about creating flyers, business cards etc… The strongest aspects of this peice of work is the way I have all the information needed in an organized way. It does not look super cluttered. I think i could always work on something with any peice of work i do. With this peice i think i could work on my spelling and puncuation. Some of the skills i use to create this peice were; Change the backround, Bordes and accents, Text and

Going to college is very uncommon within my family, not many of my family members have furthered their education with the college route. I thought going above and beyond others within my family and putting in the effort that goes along with college would really help me stand out from my family members. Most of my family have went straight into the workforce , straight out of high school with that being one of my options, that influenced me with the major of Production Agriculture due to the fact my family and I have been raised to run a farm. By doing the extra step and going through with college I believe my standpoint on running a farm will have a slight advantage then my other family members. Unlike most people in my family
One of my strength as a writer is that I always have something to say. It is not hard for me to come up with a topic to write or speak about. It is important that I know and understand the audience in which I am writing. I would have to say my challenges are staying focus on topic during a writing assignment. Brainstorming can be difficult at times. I come up with all types of ideas, but struggle sometimes choosing which ones to use in my writing.
When my mother asked me to read a book a few months ago, I was hesitant to agree. A stressful school year was approaching, and seeing my friends on a Saturday night seemed much more appealing. When I was younger, curling up with a good book was a typical pastime. Then came high school, and reading was replaced with countless hours of studying, cheer practice, and trying to figure out when I could catch up on some much needed rest.
In the past few years, writing has become something I enjoy doing, both in academics and in my personal time. Mainly, I write poetry, which is something I would like to continue working on over the course of the semester. As a musician, I feel comfortable writing poems because of the similarities they often share with songs and songwriting. I am also interested in working on comedic pieces and short stories. Last semester, my COM 201 professor told me that she thought I should be on Saturday Night Live. This could have been her way of saying I am too disruptive in class or I should not be majoring in advertising; regardless, I took it as a compliment. Performing and making people laugh brings me great happiness. Unfortunately, I struggle with channeling my love for comedy into my writing. I have read memoirs of comedians such
Everyone has a calling in life. Some people are out there changing the world and others are doing something smaller. Whether you know it yet or not, you have a purpose in life that is unique and different from anyone else's. The journey to finding your passion is just as important as using it to its fullest. Up until recently, I didn't realize my passion in life was staring directly at me. I just needed to open up my eyes.
“Ugh!” I said as I saw the morning sun rise and the light started to creep out of the blinds and fill the room with warmth.
