He did not care that he had been on the late shift, and that she had her alarm set for six in the morning. Ric settled for drinking coffee and reading the morning papers in bed with Serena. They were not officially cohabiting, but they were as good as doing so; they had often shared mornings like this, far from their usual rush around when alone, being together seemed to make mornings far more organised. They could easily dance around each other, whether it was breakfast or coffee in bed followed by an act of lovemaking; or they were in the kitchen at the table, catching up on emails whilst fighting over the last piece of toast. It never felt farfetched; it actually was the times where they started to feel most content with each other. This morning lay no different, as Ric found himself engrossed in a copy of yesterday’s paper, Serena was applying her make-up and grumbling to herself; she much rather find herself finishing her latte in bed by Ric’s side, rather than having to sip away at the now lukewarm substance between trying to make herself presentable for work. …show more content…

Ric never complained and it was not as if he never wondered about her home in just his boxers; although Serena saw that as a bonus, her lover was in great shape, and that little secret she was glad she only knew of
