How I Got My Title My full name is Caroline Grace Britten. In the beginning, Caroline wasn’t the name that was chosen for me. When my mom and dad figured out they were having a girl, my mom liked the name Chloe. One day, she looked up the meaning of the name on the Internet. When she typed in “Chloe” inappropriate pictures popped up on the first page and she was horrified. After that, I was no longer a “Chloe” and the naming situation went back to square one. On the way to the hospital for a visit, Mom and Dad asked my older siblings names what they liked. My older brother, Wyatt, said he always thought Caroline was a pretty name. My oldest sister, Macie, loved the name Grace. So, the two names formed together and that’s how Caroline Grace
There were many people in my life that got me to who I am today. My family and friends were the main people that influenced who I am. There were many events that influenced me but the most recent one is picking early college.
Where do I began? I feel that there are numerous people who have contributed to “How I Became Me”. However, I will start where it all began. On the ninth month of the twenty-seventh day of 1994, I was born. I was premature weighing in at three pounds from a mother who had three children before me at the time. And just like them I was taking away and adopted by my grandparents. They were the ones who raised me. For the most part, I can say I was a great kid. I was raised in an old-fashioned, nuclear family household. My grandfather was the primary breadwinner and my grandmother stayed at home to run her daycare. In total, there were eight of us in the house with me being the middle child. My grandparents instilled in me education was important which came to no surprise that I was on honor roll throughout elementary school. All my teachers loved me and spoke highly of my achievements in the classroom. Of course, some would say that I was a teacher’s pet of you will. Yet, I never thought of myself as such.
I would be an outstanding student in Spelman College's faculty classes because I am hard worker. My work has always came first even when I had experienced a big transition in my life I didn't allow that to stop me from doing my work. My work was always a outlet for me to express myself and to show my teachers how I really think. For instance, in my English Composition Class we read a poem called "I Want A Wife by Judy Brady" then we read a book named "Fences by August Wilson", and one day we were in class discussing the poem in the book and it shocked my teacher when I made the connection between the two. I thought my teacher made us read "I want a wife" because in the book "Fences" the main character named Troy expected everything in that
I took Engl 131 last quarter and the portfolio that I submitted was my biggest accomplishment in writing. I was very proud with the result because it comprised all my effort from the whole quarter. The portfolio included six essays and explanations for each outcome of the course. It marked my improvement in writing from proving how the essays have been refined in every draft. The essays focused on the topics of audience, genres and rhetorical skills.
I was born in Phoenix, Arizona at 7:30 in the morning on September 4, 2002. I was going to be named Asia, but my dad was like, “Why would someone be named after a continent.” I was supposed to be born on september 5 to. I would be twins with Aja Sheppard same birthday and name. She was born a year later though.
My legacy can be remembered by a lot of people if I want it to. It all depends on how I put myself out there, and I want to be out there to be remembered. When people think about me, I want them to think positive thoughts. I would like to be thought of as a person who was very kind, funny, helpful, smart, and other good character traits like that. Having these personality traits can make my other classmates better at what they do in school. But, if I do something wrong, or incorrect if I leave a bad trail for for my classmates to follow that means that's how those people are going to remember me as. I know for a fact that is not how I want people to think about somewhere in the future or right know in the present.
There are many experiences that I look back on as why I am who I am today. One of these experiences came from my 9th grade biology class. On the second day of school, our teacher Coach Smith asked us if we wanted to get shocked. He pulled out a small machine and told us that it could deliver small electrical pulses that would stimulate our nerves. When we asked what that would do to us, he smiled and said we would have to wait and see. I volunteered immediately, intrigued at the idea. He placed the machine on my forearm and switched it on. I watched as my hand took on a life of its own. He let other students who wanted to try the machine out and answered all of our questions patiently. He then said there was another experiment he would try
I made a good choice that played a role in who I am today. I’ve always been the person to help others out. When I see someone who is struggling mentally and physically I always step in. I made the choice to keep pushing a girl on our softball team that wasn’t the best, but she was a hard worker. While the other girls on our team would dog her and bash her every play. Every little thing she did wrong they pick at. I saw it and heard it, it made up upset and I always tell her positive things she did right. To me maybe someday that will come back and reward me, if not that's okay because I love knowing I can make someone's day just by letting them know they are being positively pushed. I made a choice to get laughed at by some of the girls for
My personal accomplishment has taught me a lot about myself and who I am as a person. It taught me how much strength I actually have within myself that I never in a million years thought I had. It was hundred times more difficult that I thought it was going to be going into it. This challenge that I feel that has been an important demonstration of a personal accomplishment is when I attended a student trooper program a couple of years ago.
I sit in the small, confined DJ booth of a hole-the-wall bar. Mike, better known as Cowboy, the ten-gallon hat wearing owner of Afterburners, invites me to come resume my DJ duties since I am on a two-week layoff from my factory job and larger crowds have once again began filing into the bar. I used to DJ on weekends for Cowboy before school and my full-time job became too much and his business began to slow down. I have to admit it feels good to be back in my old element.
The environment around me has molded me into the man I am today together with its strenuous experiences and jubilant moments. In addition, those memories have created a blazing ambition to become a more intellectual and compassionate individual. Next, my community and certain individual have thought many fundamental aspects that completely changed on how to view this world today. For instance when I study martial arts under Sensei Deanna Bivins, she trained me to become more self disciplined no matter the path that lies before me. Furthermore, the number one person that has carefully raised and taught me almost everything I know is my father. My father has educated me around one concept “Don’t do unto others what you don’t want others do unto you” and because the golden rule was always so close to my heart, I have always grasped the idea of being kind to others. Similarly, I think being involved in my community not only
While growing up at around the age of six my family and I moved to America. At the time I only knew a few words and they were "Hi, and, the" Only way I knew those words was from sneaking into the room where my parents used to have English class and hiding under the table. I would stay quiet and listen to what was being said while at the same time trying to get a good look on what was on the white board that was leaning against the wall until someone would notice me under the table and make me leave the room.
A special attribute that can describe me is my large sense of determination. When I begin working towards something, I am not satisfied until I finish. However, an accomplishment that I am proud of is my self-defense skills that I learned from Tae Kwon Do. I earned my black belt before I entered middle school at Stone Bank Elementary. My sister, mother, and I joined Tae Kwon Do together but I was the only one to achieve a black belt because my mother dislocated her shoulder during class and my mother and sister stopped due to her injury but I kept thriving for the black belt. That was a big accomplishment for me. I had an amazing experience at a homeless food shelter when my church class went to Milwaukee to spend a day helping, serving,
In the year 1999 May 28th a very special boy was born, the very special baby boy was named Tiger, named after the famous golf player Tiger Woods. If I were describe myself I would say that I am generally an introverted person and not very outgoing although through these years it has improved by a lot.Throughout my life there had been countless of important events and influence of people people around me that made me who i am today. The two particularly important events that i am going to talk about in depth are, my first time traveling internationally and how i felt. As well as coming over all the way to America to attend a boarding school and to live independently. The one important person that I am going to talk about that influenced me the most in my life is my grandmother.
Who am I today? I see a man with potential. As I see myself right now I am pretty proud of myself and thankful. I am thankful for the opportunities that have been given to me such as being able to go to a very well known college prep school and I am thankful, and I know it sounds cheesy, for parents that love me and support me and give me a kick in the butt when they see me slacking a little bit.
