How did I get in this position, freezing cold in a cemetery soaking wet in the rain digging up a coffin?Well, let’s start at the beginning.”OK Students here we are,the Greensberg cemetery!”Please be dutiful!”Miss Jennings said. You might be wondering why are the students of Greensberg Middle school in a cemetery?Well the mayor of Greens Berg just passed.Ah! Ever since Mayor Green has been gone all the people in town have been weeping their eyes out.Anyways,as soon as we got there we were given a tour of the place like we have never seen it before. When we got to the late Mayor’s grave, we stopped for a minute and then keep going. For some reason I stayed oh, did I mention he wasn’t even barred yet!CRAZY COOL RIGHT!I looked around to see …show more content…
I walked to school, avoiding anything plant related like grass, trees, flowers, and my neighbor’s tomato garden. When I got to school Emily ran up to me and said “Thats a nice prank you tried to play on me last night.”It was not a pr- RING!!...sorry I’ll tell you later Emily.”I …show more content…
“Our parents are never just going to let us go to a cemetery! I said.Wait my mom’s grave is there”.I said. You’re right we can tell your aunt that we’re going to see her.”Emily said. DEAL?......DEAL!After school, we ran into the city bus stop, it’s about an hour drive there so we took the bus. When we got out it was pouring down rain.We waited for the bus to leave, then we had to jump the fence because the cemetery was closed.Once we jumped the fence we ran to the mayor’s grave.OH NO!I thought. The coffin was barred.”What are we going to do now?”Emily said.”I have no clue?”I replied in defeat.”I’m so sorry jade!”She said, touching my shoulder.”NO”I said.”What?” She replied confused.”We can’t give up……………. GO GET ME A SHOVEL!”I said.”Whatever you’re thinking...stop!”Emily said worried.”Just go find me one!”I demanded. “ ……….... FINE!” she replied. When she got back, she handed me one shovel and we both
On April 08, 2016, I arrived to my designated school, Cypress Point Elementary School. Upon my arrival to Cypress Point Elementary School, I went to the main office of the school to see the assistant principal, Mrs. Dewitt. She could not make it to school on time, due to her having car troubles. The secretary told me she would notify her that I arrived and to set me. As I waited for Mrs. Dewitt, I noticed quite a few students having to call home due to violating the school dress code. Mainly it was more girls violating the dress code than boys. I am assuming from what I saw, the children only wore clothes that they saw the adults wore, or whatever their parents picked out for them. During this time, I noticed a little Asian or Hispanic boy being brought to school but he was supposed to be at home due to suspension. The secretary asked him “Why are you at school?” This young man told the secretary that his mother brought him to school. The secretary informed him that he needs to call his mother so that she
My eyes repeatedly peered to the stands which had a crowd of at least four hundred students eagerly waiting as we were warming up. Observing the crowd I noticed the left side of the field was full of students in orange Parkview High School shirts while to my right students were in purple Brookwood High School shirts. It was the Lacrosse Region Championships between Parkview, the school I played for, and, Brookwood High School. Both of our schools were ranked top ten for biggest rivalries, we knew it would be a fight to win the most significant game for us.
It was 7:00 in the morning when we arrived at the Johnston City High School. Once everyone arrived at the high school, we got on the bus and headed off to Benton. As we stepped foot on the bus, we all sat there quietly, nervous about the results of this game. This was the game that determined whether or not we went on to state. Coach Simon and Coach Shane gave us one of their what we like to call "before the game warm-up talks". We were all nervous of course, but we were all determined to win this game. We had been looking forwards to winning regionals and going to state the whole season and that day was the day that we gave us the opportunity to go to state. After the thirty minute bus ride, we finally got to Benton and once we got there,
It just made things easier for the bullies and things worse for me. Louis and I remained in Wildcats East. I was afraid and sometimes I never wanted to go back. I thought the bullying would have stopped. Now that I am not in school anymore, I feel safer, not threatened or bullied by anyone much anymore. Pretty sad I tell you how school life had to turn out the way it did.
To know how lead, first you got to learn how to follow. Knowing that quote help me understand my mentor Mr. Smith. Mr. Smith was my coach at first when I started Middle School at Paul Public Charter School. Mr. Smith had taught me to not put sports over education and to respect others.
For two years I begrudgingly walked into Fuller Middle School, sometimes staying home because I had a ‘headache,’ my home, as well as other places I was always resentful, pissed off, quick tempered, and just downright rude. I was a typical middle schooler going through family changes. I wore band tees and ripped skinny jeans to every event my mother would let me--including to school, I constantly violated dress coded until I found my way around authority and the policy, listened to heavy metal, colored my eyeliner on until I looked like a panda, and generally tried to make myself appear unapproachable. That’s when my mom began dating the man who I would eventually call my first lifeline.
We snuck in quietly, and I tensed when I saw Cristy Pines waiting on the counters. She looked like she just got in a fight with a bear with her messy hair and dark stains on her clothes. I wondered what they were and tried to get closer, but then I saw something that made me stop right in the middle of my tracks. Diary, you are probably wondering what it was because I have told you so much already, so I will now explain what I saw and what I did after I saw it.
Vividly, I can remember walking through the high school doors for the first time as a freshman with shaky legs and a nervous heartbeat. The school was a jungle of wide, shiny hallways filled with lumbering seniors who I thought were going to knock my books down on Freshman Friday. However, time has passed, and now I find myself to be the tall and “scary” senior. As I ponder about the last four years I have spent at Little Falls Community High School, I can not help but realize how much I have changed for the better. As I have matured, I have gleaned that beauty does not come through makeup and clothing brands, but rather through processing a good heart. Also, I have changed my career and college plans after high school, and I know that I will
“First in State and District, the Lone Star Academic Challenge Champion is….Richland Elementary School!” Cheers and claps erupt through the crowd and I feel my heart pound. A ringing resounds through my head as everything slows down. I feel my body being dragged up the stairs by my teacher. A gold medal is placed on my head and rests on my shoulder, my hands are shook and I read the words “Congratulations” on the announcer’s lips. Speed returns to normal and it dawns on me: we won. My team won first place. I let out my delayed reaction of jumping up and down, screaming in delight as a smile graces my face. I feel a tap on my shoulder and my head turns so fast, I think I got whiplash. A Texas-shaped trophy is handed to me and my smile grows bigger as I rip the trophy from the announcer’s hands and wave it around, yelling, “We won!” over and over again.
Emily is faced with a problem -- that is, someone is sneaking into her room and stealing small pieces of jewelry, handkerchiefs, cigarettes, etc. Emily suspects that Mrs. Allen is the culprit and thus visits her room to confront her. While visiting Mrs. Allen, Emily initially displays a sense of respect for the elder Mrs. Allen, complementing her ability to decorate and personalize her room. Emily refrains from disrespectfully “jumping” on Mrs. Allen and does not blatantly accuse her of stealing. Rather, Emily slowly introduces her problem, explaining her dilemma, gradually implying Mrs. Allen’s involvement until she remarks “It has to stop. If it doesn’t, I’ll have to do something about it.”
The months went by in a blink of an eye, and it was the last week of school. My classes for the rest of the week, we're watching a movie and eating pizza ,but only people who had a good
We've got holes to dig!". I rolled out of bed stumbled to put some clothes on then checked my bookcase. It was still there. I took the necklace off and put it behind the book as well. I headed downstairs had some breakfast and then it was off to work. We each dug three graves today. My father probably could have dug alot more than that. Before becoming a grave keeper my father was the muscle for a local tavern. He is massive he could probably say that he was half giant and people would believe him. My mother's father was the original owner of our graveyard. I never had to opportunity to meet her because she died giving birth to me. Dad does the best he can for someone on his own. My looks I definitely take after my father but everyone says I have the same eyes as my mother. For a ten year old I'm pretty large for my age. Probably around a foot or so taller than those of my age as well as quite a bit heavier not fat but much more muscular from all the working the graves. I've got my dad's black hair and my mom's icy blue eyes. Once the holes were dug for the day my father and I had some dinner, venison that he had hunted earlier in the week. He said that he would be back later tonight he's going down to the
Emily started to spend time with Homer and the town’s people questioned the situation. The town’s people thought a northerner like Homer was to good for a Grierson. Two female cousins from Alabama came to try and talk to emily that Homer was beneath her. One day Emily goes to the drug stores and demands poison. The cashier asked her what poison she was wanting.
Jeff smiles sitting in his chair unaware of where he actually is. Jeff’s vision all of a sudden cuts to the outside of an alley with police tape blocking it off. Next 2 police officers come up and escort Jeff into the alley. The police take him behind the police tape. Jeff cries immediately. It’s Ethan’s body! Jeff wakes up immediately and continues to cry for an hour. Once he is done crying he gets into his car and drives off. Jeff pulls up to a cemetery. The place has hundreds of tombstones all in straight rows. The sky is gray and gloomy. Trees withering away. All signs of how depressing the place is. Jeff walks in the cemetery a little ways to the third row. Jeff walks down the third row of tombstones and stops at the 5th tombstone. It was a normal square tombstone that said Ethan Daniels October 1, 2004-July 12, 2044. Jeff begins to cry again. Jeff falls down on the ground and grabs the tombstone. After crying for almost 40 minutes Jeff stands up.
On the entry table, right in the path of Sadie, my mom had just put her favorite antique vase that was given to her as a gift from her grandmother. The vase was porcelain white decorated with dark yellow sunflowers, my moms favorite flower. The vase was filled with seven beautiful sunflowers with bright yellow leaves that she had just picked from the yard. Sadie ran past the table, her tail hit the table and it slowly rocked from side to side. I looked at my mom, who looked like she had just seen a ghost. She began to sprint towards the table to catch the vase. It was too late.
