“Although I tried,” Ed said as he picked up the empty box. “I never learned how to use the thing myself.” “ I would try from time to time, but I finally just gave up, and put in this old box year’s ago.” “I would like for you to take it with you on your journey, who knows, maybe it will work for you.” “However," Mr. Ed continued. "You will have to figure out the magic words. I don’t remember any of them.” “Do you remember what the magic words sounded like?" Titus asked. “Not really," Mr. Ed said, while scratching his beard. "As I recall they sounded like, ask alley sham, shine my shoes, or hole’s pole’s and poke dots.” “I remember one time, when I had the wand and was trying to make something move," the farmer continued, …show more content…
Ed said, "If you sell something with a number it’s just a number." If it has a name, it’s like selling a friend or someone you know, don’t you agree?’ he asked as he lifted the boy onto the back of the large animal. “Well, Titus said, looking down at him, “If it works for you that’s all that counts.” Patting Titus on the leg, the farmer looked up at him, “Tell you what young man, he said with a smile on his face. You get rid of the dragon, and you can keep the mule to ride home. That will be your reward and a way to say thanks not only from me, but from the whole countryside, have a good trip and be safe.” Mr. Ed said as he gave the mule a pat on the rump to get them started, he then stepped back and watched as they began their adventure. After a ride down the road, Titus turned the mule, and they started climbing the mountain. The landscape soon began changing from planted fields to small trees and bushes. The higher up the mountain, he rode the taller the trees and bushes got. Hearing sounds that he never heard before Titus kept looking from side to side to see where the sounds were coming from. Looking up, he could see birds flying overhead and setting in trees chirping and singing. The occasional owl hoot was the scariest sound he
The more they traveled, the more the forest seemed to be alive. It became denser, the bushes moved more, the tree roots wrapped around their ankles. Tree branches moved forward as if trying to catch DragonMan, scratching his wings. Until he was surrounded by thick, brown branches that wanted to embrace him. He reared his head back, took a deep breath, and roared. Fire came from his mouth, and the branches caught fire. Some fell to the ground beneath him, writhing as though they were in pain, while others returned to their trees.
I went out the place and sat in her car. "Maybe some music will help me consume all of this." Sky clicks the radio on.
He has no mother? I couldn't believe it. I was in a state of shock. Why would Jerry lie to me? I began to cry and immediately left the orphanage. Took my keys and drove. Just drove. I didn't know where I was going, I just needed to get out of here, this town, this state, this country. I felt betrayed. Tears rushing down my cheeks, my eye makeup all over my face. I was a mess. After about an hour, the sky was pitch black and I decided to go back. There was no point in running away. That little boy shouldn't affect my life whatsoever.
"Damn thing went out again," Minzy growls, slamming her hand against the air conditioner. I rub the back of my neck, sweat trickling down my body in a fit of heat overdose.
Anyway, back to Spencer. I was leaning against the wall, and then I someone ran into me. I stumbled and fell sideways, right into Spencer. For a couple seconds I couldn’t figure out what happened. All I knew was my head kinda of hurt and there was beer spilled all over my shirt. Someone held out a hand and pulled me up. That someone was Vivian. At the time, the only thing I knew about Vivian was that she scared the shit out of me. Two years prior to that day, she looked a lot like Alice, actually. Cute blonde hair, bright blue eyes, wore little dresses to school. Then she changed. She died her hair black, got a nose piercing, and I hadn’t seen her in a dress since. I hadn’t even talked to her in several years when she pulled my beer-soaked
The airplane was crashing, as usual. No matter how many times it played out, she always ended up here, plummeting to her end, pinned against the back of the seat. She never reached the end of the dream; every time she'd jolt awake, just before the plane was crushed into the ground. Whenever she closed her eyes, Emily found herself haunted by this nightmare; alone and terrified. It was worst when she would wake sprawled across the same seat she'd been in while she dreamt. As the wings of the plane tore away branches of the forest below, Em woke with a start. That night, JJ sat in the seat across from her, watching her worriedly.
“I don’t normally stress this way, but this — ” she paused, her hands circling around
I was right, I felt a sick grin occupy my face. “Something happened. I can’t really tell you.”
There it was the semi-barrelling at us. Our tires skidded on the ice, smooth as glass and that's all it took.
“Like what Phillip was talking about,” ascertained Krista, “he said they wouldn’t let him destroy his grandfather’s wristwatch. They prevented him from swinging this hammer.”
Beep! Beep! Beep! I smash the snooze button and roll over. “Time to get up Michael!” I sit up and rub my eyes to wake up. I look around to find out I can’t see anything. I rub my eyes one more time to get the same results. I scream “MOM, DAD HELP!” I hear my parents bust through the door. “Son! Son! what’s wrong?” my mom said in a scared tone. “I can’t see! I can’t see!” I repeatedly scream,as my mom holds me while my dad calls the doctor on his phone. I’m Crying for someone to wake me up from this nightmare.
I sit nervously on the edge of my tiny bed in the little dull room which has become my prison for nearly a week now. My hands are clasped tight on my knees as I inhale deeply, preparing myself. I really don’t have choice in what I’m about to do and what I’m about to do, is what’s best for everyone, even if they don’t agree. There’s a nearly invisible capture in the corner of the ceiling. It’s new and put there by Samuel. He wants to make sure I do what I promised and I will.
The two of them may never be more than friends, but my actions made it easier for him to refuse to be seen or called greater until he had earned that honor. Unfortunately, it that thought didn’t come from my imagination, but from Echo himself. I watched my people move out of Echo’s way through nods of respect and standing tall. There was no longer any doubt. I had to stay as far away from Echo as possible. My mind must have been stuck on the two of us in the shower only a few hours ago (which it was) when I heard my name being called out several times.
The walls are falling down. Samson is riding fast with me on his back. I can hear them yelling and can they chase us. I knew it would take a miracle for me to get away without grazing death, but for some reason, I did not care. I love that woman; I love her with every inch of my being. Nothing, nothing can stop me from getting to her. I will save her from this cruel world. An arrow flies past me and so I-
“I don’t know!” Mo said impatiently because she was ready to explore the world. “I was planning on walking along the garden path until I got to the end.”
