That was a lot of money, and I didnt want to let Tony down so I got in the car and started to drive. As I drove the road was empty. I had confidence I was not going o get caught. It was a slightly wormer day out witch might have been because the sun was out. I had the windows down and was blaring music just trying to enjoy life when a cop pulls out behind me.
Throughout the conversation, Susan did not inform me that the home was still in First Look and not open to investors at this time. Susan did not highlight any features of the home, nor did she talk about the neighborhood or the surrounding area. When asked, Susan paused to reference the property file and stated, "In looking at the pictures it appears that it needs interior paint, carpet, appliances, and a few windows, which the previous seller must have taken." She stated, "I don't know why they have to remove things from the homes." I asked, "Do you have offers?" She paused to check the property file and answered, "No offers." I asked, "Is the property behind the home farmland?" She paused to reference the property file and replied, "It appears
It's a Friday afternoon, I plan to go to Great Wolf Lodge in an hour with my church. I see one of my friends so he says to his mom “ Hey, that's my friend” I said “Crap” So I go inside to sign in to go and see my friends just sitting in a corner on a big sofa. We are listening to music and just talking then a green bus comes.
Home is the beginning of one’s book. It is where your story begins, forms its characters, shows its purpose, and reveals its ora. This is how mine is written. Home is on the buzzing highway down a bumpy gravel road. It’s Brandon, Mississippi. It is the only home I’ve ever known. Home is the smell of homemade biscuits and tomato gravy on Saturday mornings. It is “Bless Your Heart” and “Yes Mam” and “No Sir”. The little bedroom in the back of a grey double-wide where Carrie Underwood songs played and where I learned to curl my hair and put on mascara. My cousins and I running around with mason jars, chasing the lightning bugs. Bar-B-q on the back porch and never meeting a stranger. It is the morals learned and the identity
My best friend, Emely, lived 2 blocks away from our school. Because we were too young to walk home by ourselves Emely's mom picked us up and took us to her house. Usually, I would stay at school until 6:00 pm until my mom picked me up; we were taking finals therefore we were early dismissed and my mom had no other choice but to let me go to Emely's house until she got off of work.
Have you ever just wanted to accomplish something, but you were just too lazy? Well, that was my case. It all just started in the beginning of 7th grade. It was fun and all, but then, P.E. started, I wasn’t used to the running and social activities at all. It was very difficult at the beginning of 7th grade but it got easier after a few weeks passed. But then, my P.E. teacher, Mrs. Gavello, warned her class that the mile was going to be in a few weeks. When I heard the news, I literally went on the ground and cradled myself saying “I’m not going to do good, I’m not going to do good, I’ll fail.”
“E… F… P… T...” I couldn’t go on; I simply couldn’t make out the other letters on the eye exam chart.
Edgar Allan Poe’s poem “Alone” is a short, revealing lyric poem that the reader presumes to be about the author, as it is written in the first person and contains no characters. The speaker is looking back on their childhood and upbringing with melancholy, remarking that, “From childhood’s hour I have not been / As others were - I have not seen / As others saw - I could not bring / My passions from a common spring-”. These four lines set up Mr. Poe’s message to the reader - he is saying, ‘I am not like others. My past has not been perfect, and I am different because of that.’ This is the theme of the poem - the speaker’s view on his unconventional childhood, and how it may have shaped who he became as an adult. This indicates even further to the reader that the poem may be autobiographical - Edgar Allan Poe himself had a difficult childhood, first being abandoned by his biological father, and then with the death of his mother from tuberculosis at age three. Edgar was separated from his siblings, the only blood family he had left, and taken in by the Allan family, whose patriarch was a successful tobacco merchant. Poe quickly bonded with Mrs. Allan, but his literary talents were discouraged again and again by Mr. Allan and Poe’s teachers (Edgar Allan Poe). This troubling past certainly fits with the rocky childhood Poe writes about in “Alone”.The speaker goes on to say, ‘From the same source I have not taken / My sorrow; I could not awaken / My heart to joy at the same tone/
After Finals, I came back to San Pedro for the summer. You wouldn't think the place would have changed that much in a year, but it sure as hell felt like I was living in another country. Most of the guys I went to high school had moved on by then and the whole town seemed so fucking strange.
It was Friday when Armin arrived to his first class a few minutes early, per usual. He took his seat and set his bag down sighing sadly. Lately something has been off about Jean. He's become more distant, and sometimes even walked away from him. Armin couldn't help but wonder what he did wrong to cause Jean to deliberately avoid him. To make matters worse, this is the second day of school Eren has missed due to a minor cold. Eren tends to over-exaggerate situations, and Mikasa tends to be over-protective towards him. Therefor, she has been staying home as well to care for Eren in his time of "distress." Meaning, Armin was going to be alone, again; it won't be long before someone takes that to their advantage and picks on him while he has no
In the beginning of third grade was so exciting because I will get to see my friends. But when I got home my parents told me and my brother that we are moving. I was really excited at first because it was my first time moving.
One of the most controversial topics in the news today is the legalization of marijuana. Supporters believe that the drug is not harmful and can have numerous benefits. However, opponents argue that marijuana can lead to addiction and other more dangerous drugs. In the end, marijuana should be legal based on economic, medicinal, and philosophical factors.
I once became friends with a ghost named Henry, he was or still is nicely haunting a hotel in Georgia. Another time I befriended a ghost named Cecilia, she was in the process of moving on, but I didn't have the heart to tell her she wasn't doing it right. She wasn't making peace, she was creating more attachments.
“No . . . ” I said. The masked doctor examined the hundreds of boils on my face and body.
