Professionalism I meet my teaching practice goals by being professional at work and out of work. It's just shows alot to the parents when see in public. That the same person they see taking care of their children is the same outside of work. Secondly, I choose to become to an early childhood professional beacuse when I was little I've always loved kids. For some reason babies and school ae kids still love me. I just hae the magic touch to connect with them. There were several times I would babysit during my high school years during my summer vacations. One day I apploed at the daycare am currently working at and got hired. I thought this would be intersting do to my passion for children. I had no idea what I was getting into at first.
The career I chose was that of a daycare owner. I’ve been wanting to be a daycare owner for quite a while now. When I was about 10, I used to visit my grandma at her daycare, and I always loved being there helping with the kids. I’ve been babysitting little kids and toddlers for as long as I remember. I presume that since I have always been around kids, it’s just something that I assume would be the best decision that I’d make for the rest of my life.
My decision to become a pediatrician allows to me combine to two most things I love: children and academics. Children have always played an important role in my life. For example, I enjoyed babysitting little children. I enjoy playing with them and seeing how children can be so creative at a young age. Similarly, academics have always played an major role in my life also. My parents would always stress
want to be a teacher becuas I want to make a difference in the lives of as many students as I can.I have had much experience working with children- from vacation bible study teacher, bible study teacher, to youth leader for the young adult choir. These responsibities have helped me realize my love for children. All these experiences have impacted my work ethic and helped me develop habits of patience, a professional attitude , and a desire to work

It was hour four. I glanced at the tiny digital clock on the dusty, outdated, desktop computer. “Five minutes left in free play!” I yelled over the jumbled sound of Mario Kart, xylophones and freeze dance. The daycare had almost a club atmosphere at this point as muffled dance music blasted through the speakers; the only partition between the high-energy fitness center and us was a thin wall of glass, littered with sticky handprints. There were currently thirty children ranging from ages 3 to 12 and it was up to me my coworker to watch all of them, do payments and update the roster. She was busy with the infants, leaving me to take care of everything else. Much like a general getting ready for war, I prepared myself. Sometimes, the room would have up to 40 kids in it at once, so I had to be an authoritarian. I knew I had it in me; I had practice using my voice working at the preschool.
What does it mean to become a professional? Well professionalism is key to becoming an admirable Early Childhood educator. Professionalism is built upon ones’ individual integrity, responsibility, and ethical practices that demonstrate a profound respect for all the children in their center as well as their families. We as professionals advocate for excellence in the early childhood programs as well as make decisions based upon their knowledge of the early childhood theories. Like I said before, I believe that a classroom should have some type of constructivist learning. It is important for the children to construct their own understanding and knowledge as well as experiencing what they learned and reflecting upon that.
This is probably by far the hardest course I have taken in the last two years, but I am proud to say I didn’t give up. There was a lot to be learned in a short amount of time as well as learning how to use other programs on the computer. I have gained more knowledge in learning the two new programs this semester.
I have worked with children that are a few months old to 17-years-old. Although I have had many experiences with elementary school students by being an Early Elementary and Special Education major, my main experiences have been through Junior Achievement, volunteering at a Sunday school for children with disabilities, and being a Resident Assistant.
Preschool was really cool I made a few friends I remembered their faces but not too many memories. One thing that stood out was when I had to get my mouth washed out with soap it was the worst thing ever I can still the taste of the soap as I type this, yuck. Cleaned my mouth up literally and figuratively. I can remember graduation from preschool I was super excited but I think my mother was much more excited than I. She was so happy and smiling so big I can tell she was proud of me to this day she has that same feeling as I accomplish things in my life now.
I have limited experience working with children. I have tutored children from my neighborhood and family members. I would help them out with their homework and prepare for exams, in social studies, reading, and some math. Tutoring included having discussions with the students, parents, and teachers to figure out what material to go over. After these discussions, I created assingments and study guides to help the students, out of the tutoring
Like many people everyone wants to find their calling and figure out where they belong. My parents moved to the United States risking their lives on a boat from Haiti but soon separated while in america . My mom did a great job raising four kids on her own and I being the second child took part in raising my two younger siblings. In elementary school I struggled in many subjects but excelled in art, when I finally learned to read and went to middle school my grades were high enough to have honors reading and social study classes and even apa classes in highschool. I continued to excel in a lot of my classes, turns out I was smarter than I thought and all I need to do was learn to read and have people who took the time to teach me.
Today was a hard day for me. I wasn’t feeling well when I got up this morning, but I push through and I’m glad that I did. There is one baby in the infant classroom that want go to anyone except for me; which make me feel good in a kind away. Mrs. Wright keep on trying to work with her, but she’s very slow to warm up to people. It will just have to take time for her to adjust to the teachers. Maybe next week once I’m not in the classroom she will start to warm up to them. I know for me at times it was hard hearing her cry for me, but I couldn’t do anything because I was attending to the other babies in the classroom. It was a challenge for me, but I got over it and learn how to multitask. I couldn’t go to planning with the teachers today
I have chosen to go into this field because I want to be one of those early childhood teacher that get children ready for important part of life. Having little cousins to watch growing up as well my own children and see them grow in their early education has shown me that I want to be part of that. I love the thought of being the first person to get the children started with their education by helping them along the way with fun filled classroom activities and games.
I am writing to you to express my intent to take up professional studies at Jackson State University. I am aspiring to pursue a Doctor of Education with a specialization in Early Childhood at your esteemed university. I have over four year experience working in the education field. I have dedicated my life to the area of Education in the field of Early Childhood. I believe that pursuing a Doctorate at your university will enhance my knowledge and productivity in the workplace and in Educational Administration.
I want to become someone who teaches, an educator, a role model, a teacher. I want to help children in their early childhood education. I want to become a teacher because teachers play a very big role in children’s lives. Not only do they serve as educators, but for many kids, the classroom is where they feel the safest. They feel welcomed and at home. For these certain kids it is their one place of stability where they are always guaranteed to be loved and get fed and to have fun. I enjoy watching kids grow and helping them develop their learning skills. Every kid needs a good education and I want to be the one giving them that good education. I want to make a difference in their lives and prepare them for the road ahead.
