In Katherine Ramsland’s article “Murder by the Book: The Murder of Karyn Slover,” she tells the story of the mysterious murder of a 23 year old mother who seemed to vanish with no reasoning in central Illinois back in 1996. Ramsland begins by telling how an abandoned car was left on the side of the road with it still running, the headlights on and the driver door still open. Police searched the car and found a drivers license with Karyn Slover’s name on it, yet the car belonged to David Swann. The police reached Swann and told him of Karyn’s disappearance, which he then told the police how she was borrowing the car to pick up her son at the Slover’s household. The author continues on about how Swann filed a missing-persons report
After analyzing prior situations and keeping in mind the perspective of novel, Clare’s killer has an obvious answer. Clare’s husband poses no real danger to Clare when he comes bursting into the party. Jack is outnumbered by the many black men in the room. They can easily prevent him from getting near Clare. He has only appeared up to three times in the novel. Every other time he is only mentioned in passing. If he was Clare’s killer he would been brought up more. Jack is also quiet a distance away from Clare as he is at the entrance while she is on the other side of the room. Clare would not have committed suicide because, she is not upset. She eventually wanted out of her marriage and her husband finding out her true racial heritage is the perfect way out. She smiles also seeing no danger in the situation. Brian did not kill Claire because like Jack, he is on the other side of the room amongst a throng of people at the entrance. There is no motivation as there is no affair. Irene even said she had no proof of infidelity

“Killings” by Andre Dubos is a short story surrounding the death of a young man named Frank Fowler. Following his father Matt, the story opens at Frank’s funeral proceeding where family, mother Ruth and siblings Steve and Cathleen, and friends have gathered at the cemetery to send Frank. The way the family expresses their grief not only suggest that Frank’s death was tragic, but also at the hands of another individual, specially expressed by Steven repeating “I should kill him” when the service had closed (Dubos, 1). Evidence that the death was sudden and tragic continues as a month passes and the Ruth and Matt still struggle to grieve over their son. Tension intensifies towards Frank’s murderer as Matt and his friend, Willis Trottier, discuss
Upon arrival, I made contact with Ms. Maria Gizanados (Involved Person) who advised in a sworn recorded statement her son, Mr. Antonio Gizanados (Victim), and daughter were staying at her parents’ house, when she received a phone call from her daughter. During phone conversation, Ms. Gizanados was advised her son was having a “bi-polar episode,” so she responded to the location. Upon arrival, she made contact with her son (Mr. Gizanados) and he stated he wished to kill himself with a knife. He had a knife present in his bedroom, but was not threating himself with it. Mr. Gizanados also made statements to her that he was planning to go to the The Avenues with a gun and shoot people as well as myself.
In a small midwestern town in Villisca, Iowa rests the quiet house of Josiah B. Moore and Sarah Montgomery Moore, who were both killed with an ax around midnight along with their 4 children Katherine, Herman, Boyd, and Paul. All in the age range between 5 and 11. In addition to those murders, as if it weren’t bad enough, two friends of theirs were sleeping over. The Stillinger sisters, Lena and Ina both just 12 an 8 years old, were killed as well. The Villisca Murder Case as called by law enforcement was the longest unsolved case of our time. It’s still unsolved, and has been left open for more than 100 years. It was a terrible tragedy because the small town of Villisca lost eight innocent lives that night. The murderer unknown, evidence they hardly have any, and eight people’s skulls
Children murders are used to be thought that they are evil kids, but in chapter eight “All God’s children” of Just Mercy book by Bryan Stevenson which makes us recognize these children are innocent. In February of 2008, I was sitting in a General Court Martial proceeding to defend myself against third-degree murder charges, which arose from a raid my platoon conducted in the rural areas outside of Kirkuk, Iraq. On the night of June 23, 2007, my Platoon Sergeant (PSG) shot and killed a detainee that we had captured early that evening. Realizing what he had just done, my PSG gave me an order that would eventually have me implicated in his crime. I was acquitted of the murder charges, but found guilty of assault through my own testimony. The fact of the matter is, I had a psychotic Platoon Sergeant; Trey Corrales was the walking definition of “Toxic Leadership.” Under the control of Trey Corrales, serving in this platoon was one of the
The morning of September 17, 1996 in Louisiana changed my life forever. I was skimming through the daily Gambit when he came in. Mr. Callahan, the local policeman, walked into my office, holding a paper that was dated from this Friday.
To Lina, it seemed like the night that her family got arrested was going to be a normal night. Lina was confused, and probably scared, because she couldn’t fathom a reason why her family would even be getting arrested in the first place. When the NKVD ordered Lina’s family out of their apartment, Lina’s mom felt like they couldn’t leave without anything. “‘We need more time. We’ll be ready in the morning,’ Mother said(5).” Lina’s mom easily could’ve started arguing with the officers or even start screaming and crying, but she didn’t. She might’ve been scared, but she acted very civil and her children picked up from that and didn’t make a scene either. We also see this on page 11. “The NKVD officer slammed her in the shoulder with the butt of

I read the paper as Melinda hands it back to me it says “I didn’t call the cops to break up the party, I called them because some guy raped me. Under the trees.I didn’t know what to do. I was stupid and drunk and didn’t know what was happening and he raped me. When the police came, everyone was screaming, and I was too scared, so I cut through some backyards and walked home.” I hate myself right now I ditched our friendship because she broke up the party and almost got me arrested. I didn’t even listen to what her side was. I swore that I’d never be her friend again when I should’ve. No wonder why she’s changed so much.
