Apolonio
“I have been getting eaten alive by those darn bugs, at least when we go to the islands there won't be as many,” stated my mom.
It was Christmas break and my family was on vacation in Belize, a small country near Mexico and Guatemala. We were spending seven days in the jungle at a resort and then we would go to the islands for seven more days.
The Toucans were chirping, the fog was moist and steamy, the bugs were all around our vibrant Papaya. The color of all the trees and plants were so bright, as if it was like I was looking right at the sun. It was the most relaxed and elegant place I had ever been to. It was the second to last day that we were in the jungle, we were playing Euchre, a trick-taking card game most commonly

He found the card, reached all the way up to the sky, and showed us the card. He had a huge smile on his face as if he won the World Series and was about to charge the mound to celebrate with his team. He ran back up and we thanked him. He then asked the bartender for Coke for his sick sister, he said that it would help his sister's stomach settle. He didn't have enough money to buy the Coke. We bought him 3 bottles of Coke for his sick sister. I bought him a hackey sack that said Belize on it from the gift store.
“Thank you!” rejoiced Apolonio. He waved to us and said, “Goodbye.” I didn't know where he was going but he was gone in an instant.
The bartender knew about Apolonio and said in his poor english “He always comes to the bar to get a Coke, he lives in a village about 10 minutes from this resort. There is a Canadian lady who has a farm right by his village and his dad and him work at her farm and they use machetes to cut the crops down.” When we left the resort, we were driven in a van to the airport. When we were almost to the main road we saw Apolonio running down the dirt road with no shoes waving to us.
“Bye!” belted Apolonio. We could see the sweat dripping down his face. At that point I knew that I was his friend, and he was
Up until the 1880s, the United States economy followed the policy of laissez-faire (the idea that the government should have no involvement in the economy), and this led to competition which led to good prices of goods for the average consumer. However with the growth of many large companies that controlled the market, prices of goods raised due to the lack of competition. With consumers becoming frustrated and prices constantly rising, the government was forced to regulate the control of monopolies in the market.
It was the day after my sister's Quinceanera, and all my family was here. They were leaving back to their homes Monday morning, so keep in mind it is Sunday. All of our parents were talking outside and saw that us kids didn’t really have anything to do, so they decide to take us to a river that was 5 minutes away from my aunt's ranch. We packed up all our food and stuff and went right away.
On the way home I thought about asking Soda about my essay. I knew Soda would tell me that “it was perfect and that I was so smart”, Darry would say “it needs more information”. When I walked into the house Soda had a weed and a letter in his hand, I thought to myself “It’s very strange for Soda to smoke.” He only smokes when he needs to calm his nerves. When i looked at his face closer he looked happy but mad. I asked “What’s wrong.” He didn’t reply, so I sat down next to him and the letter was from Sandy! The letter said “ Hello Soda i’ve missed you.” “There is something very important that i should have told you a long time ago.” “ I lied when I found out that I was pregnant I was so happy but, I thought that it would hold you back from being you.” That’s when I decided to move to Florida. “ I made you believe that the baby was someone else’s when it’s actually yours.” Right now your baby girl is five months old.” “ Soda i’m really sorry for any pain I caused but, if you want to see her I will give you the money for you and your brothers to come see her.” “ From Sandy.” Soda quickly crumbled up the paper and ran out the door. Shortly after that Darry was home from school.
“I wanted to hug him and beg him to forgive me for leaving” (Alexie 218).
Political fear is an important concept which has repercussions throughout politics today. Much of this idea is established in Corey Robin’s work Fear: The History of a Political Idea. In this book he walks through the philosophical origins of the concept, discusses what it looks like at different moments in American history, and offers his own theory of the a form of political fear developed in the United States, which he calls “Fear, American Style.” Next, the dynamics that occurred during the McCarthy era United States are discusses and related back to this idea- that a uniquely American type of political fear is at work here, particularly in workplaces across the country. Finally, through the in class presentations on fear, the implications
"I can't believe this talk got us up to this point," Alexander commented, hinting the sunset on the horizon. "I'll see you later, (Y/N). If anything goes wrong or if you're about to die, call me." He embraced you into a tight yet quick hug before releasing. He waved at you before you set off, not without stopping to look at the sunset. Honestly, you didn't want it to be your last. You couldn't even appreciate the moment since terror and anxiety filled you.
“Bye Hazel and Jordan, have a good day at school” I said as they walked out the door to go to school.
"He took his hand from my waist and dropped my arm. 'See you' he said. He walked away."
“I remember you! You were my friend who stopped me from taking over the Earth! Thank you for helping me and being a great friend!” Joey exclaimed.
“I’m breaking up with you,” Hunk said cheerily as he stepped into the locker room, waving at Lance merrily as he went. “Don’t cry too hard now.”
I said scarcely "Papa and Mama must be on the train to Chihuahua, Mexico" Roberto said "Sadly but that is one state away". We all pouted for a bit then decided to think of a plan to find Mama and Papa.
To begin, we chose this visual seeing that gene therapy is worthy of discussion due to the numerous applications it can have on treating disease, which explains why it is a rapidly growing area of study and debate in the world of Biology. In particular, we would like to acknowledge the possibilities and limitations of gene therapy in our analysis. First, the question of whether the story of our visual is possible in real life is simple, no. James Bond is a fictional movie series and in reality, the duties of a spy agent are much more mundane than the action we see on the screen, involving mainly paperwork. Particularly, we will focus on the gene therapy component of the movie, which is also fictitious. In the movie, the doctor running the genetics clinic explains, “first we kill off your bone marrow to wipe the slate clean, then they introduce new DNA from healthy donors.” The bone marrow is where white blood cells (which are a major component of the immune system) develop.
I swear I had been engulfing alcohol for at least four hours straight. From simple cocktails, to gin and whiskey refills, and random shots, I was now chugging on a keg stand upside down with over a hundred people chanting the word chug simultaneously.
I sat in the water alone and cold waiting for someone to rescue me. “Maybe this is it”, I thought. Well I don’t really want to explain how I got here but here goes.
She waved farewell, as if they were old friends while congratulating herself on a superb performance.
