When I Was on 11Alive Waking up and realizing that today was the day, my body got packed with nerves, still wondering how my mom even got me on the show and why they wanted me. While I was putting on my clothes, I was trying to look professional, but looking back I would have chosen something different. I was wearing some boot cut jeans, a shirt with a purple cross that had a shawl connected to it, some ugly sneakers, and my hair was straightened. It was dark and chilly December morning, and myself and my parents took the 30 minute drive to the TV station. When my parents and I arrived we had to be checked in by security, as they were told to expect my arrival, for the early morning weather segment. I felt that I was going to pee my pants, but I was also excited. My mom was making me more nervous, “You …show more content…
While waiting in the chair for the commercial break, I could not stop shaking, my nerves became uncontrollable. In the middle of the commercial, Chelsey McNeil, the weatherman for 11Alive, tells me my lines, I only had two minutes to remember, I was praying I would not forget. Before I knew it the commercial ended, it was now show time. Chelsey McNeil said his line, I knew I was up, it was now or never. Surprised at myself, I got all my lines out. I said, “ Today the weather will be cloudy with a high of 60 degrees. The weather on the wizometer will be a 6.” I would say I did suitable for a person who thought she was going to forget everything, and embarrass herself on live television. On the air, they allowed me to shout out my friends and teachers, and whoever else I wanted. The coolest thing was arriving at school, and seeing how many of my friends and teachers actually watched me. I did not expect that many to have seen me. When walking into the school, there were many students in the hallway, and they all were saying “I saw you, Melissa. I saw you on TV.” It did not sound like that though. Imagine 20 people screaming that
Hi could I please have an iced skinny cinnamon dolce latte with coconut milk please? My name is Courtney Travaglini, currently I'm in my cold home state of Maine. However you are about to learn is not my "home" anymore. My husband and I are stationed in North Carolina and have been there for the past two years. Thanks to Starbucks transfer program and love of the military I was able to transfer back to Maine during my husbands deployment.
I have many important people in my life that support me in everything that I do, but a good friend of mine has always pushed me to do my best in every situation. Morgan Parcher is like an older sister to me. She helps me with anything imaginable, and is the image of what I want to be. I met Morgan through 4-H. It was my very first year in 4-H and it was her last year. My mom was quite vocal and crazy so Morgan took a liking to my mom. All the kids loved my mother. She was the crazy lady of 4-H. She thought of my mom as her own, and while my mom and her became close so did we. Since we met through 4-H, we both showed horses together and she saw a great potential in me. Morgan was an exceptional horsewoman and rider. She competed on the OIHA
Finally I have escaped. I was critical about escaping at first but now I know that it was the right choice to make. I escaped with Mary Ingles, a fellow captive. We escaped while on an expedition to find salt away from the village. Mary says we are going home, but I have no home anymore. I was the only survivor of the raid. However, Mary is a kind person and says that I could live with her family. Poor Mary she has had even worse than me she has lost all her children to the Shawnee. I feel very fortunate that I survived my captivity at all. Some of our fellow captives were even burned alive by the indians. I am lucky that I gained their respect by running the gauntlet. Mary and I escaped because they let us go out into the woods to forage
Throughout our lives, we all make sacrifices in order to achieve our goals or to help others achieve their goals. For some, this may mean sacrificing friendships or family time, or for others it may mean sacrificing money and other dreams which may also be of great importance to us. A person who has made many sacrifices in order to achieve their aspirations or goals is someone with strength, determination and masses of will-power, and it is someone who is not prepared to give up on their dream.
When I was six I wanted to be Hannah Montanna. When I was 12 I still dreamed of becoming a pop-star, but figured I could have a second job too – just in case. I’m seventeen now and I’ve have read Maya Angalou and Ralph Waldo Emerson; I’ve studied American history, marvled at astounding scientific discoveries, and cheered for political revolutions. I've traveled to different states and analyzed geological features for the aesthetic beauty and for the geological history. I've done many things, the logical step here would be then for me to pick; speak or forever hold my peace, but in all honesty, I don't know what I want to be. My six-year old self would say it's because I've seen too much, I think it's because I haven't seen enough. I want to
The next morning, Mr. Cassidy woke up early, dressed and was ready for the hearing, he was anxious to save his home. Since he wasn’t familiar with the streets, he left the house in plenty of time to find the office in Charleston. When he arrived, he found the building, but he needed to find the parking structure. At last, he saw it on the opposite side of the street and went across to it. While looking for an empty space, he saw one and parked beside a new BMW. When he got out of the truck and straightened his clothes, he noticed Louise Anderson, The President of the Women’s Club getting out of the BMW.
6th Grade: Mrs. McEversons. Moving up to sixth grade was really scary. Actually, not that scary, but it's a whole new school, new friends, and new, well, pretty much EVERYTHING, except for a few of my old friends.
Patience is wearing thin , the shocking moment is almost here. Then a miracle happens! A beautiful brown eyed baby is born into this world.
Who is Katelyn Ballard? Katelyn is a student, a sister, and most definitely, a pet lover. I am a senior at Franklin County and have lived here since May 30, 1998, which is my birthday. Even though I have lived here seventeen years, I have moved houses six times. I currently live on Tims Ford Lake with my Mom and step dad. I have one older brother, Cody, and two step siblings, Cade and Carly. I have two dogs, Dixie and my favorite, Marley. I enjoy high school, but just like every other senior; I am ready to be done. I plan on entering Motlow’s nursing program then furthering my education at MTSU to become a nurse practitioner. Taking care of people has always been an instinct of mine, so a job in the medical field is ideal for me. I enjoy writing
Lauren and the others in her group are in a new situation; they have to survive out of the walls. Lauren said, "Everyone who's surviving out here knows things that I need to know... I'll watch them, I'll listen to them, and I'll learn from them. If I don't, I'll be killed. And like I said, I intend to survive" (Butler 173). She's always focused on adapting to new situations - but one key to that is learning from others and bringing a group together to support each other.
I walked to my house soaked, crying, and my nose dripping blood. This is why: When I got on the loud, stinky bus, 2 girls were waiting for me At my seat. After I sat down to do my homework, they distracted me by pouring some water on my head. After that they grabbed my homework and ripped it up into a million pieces.
The day started out as a normal, crazy morning, as usual my mom and I were running late. Around my dad's twentieth text saying, "Hurry please!" we finally made it out the door, and on our way to the barn around nine that morning. The stench in the barn was a bit strong to say the least, but you get used to it. I walked over to my pig, his name was Mojo, I gave him a good luck scratch and began preparing for show time. When I heard my class number get called over the loud speaker, my hands began to sweat and my heart started beating rapidly. This is when all the long days at the barn and hours spent walking and grooming Mojo paid off.
It was only 7 o clock. I took a cold shower, since the time I have been here in this country; I have only taken 2 hot showers. Sure, at first it was the worst thing to do during a day, now its normal, suited to my lifestyle.
One morning i woke up out of nowhere. Was it something bothering me? I don't know. Well by the way my name is Lisney Morenara and this is my life. I am a teenager and am 14 years old. Im doing very good right now. I've lived in the same nice cozy home since I've been a little girl with my quiet Mom, funny Dad, and two brothers. One being older than me and the other younger, I am the middle child. My older brother and I don't really get along, but my mom say's he's all I have till my little brother gets old. So I mean, I guess I love him... Whatever. Back to my story. I go down stairs and my Mom is cooking breakfast, my Dad getting ready to go to work. My older brother is... where who knows where, and my little brother is watching
Picking up my head followed by my body, I reach over my bed to get my phone. Turning my phone on, I hear my mom scream up to me, “Sofia you need to get into the shower now!” Hopping out of my bed my sister comes racing out of her room storming down the stairs. Not knowing what her problem was nor caring, I grab a towel from the closet, place it onto the rack and get into the shower. After singing like a total freak in the shower, I calmly pick up my phone looking at the time not noticing it was already 7:00 and check my social media for a good ten minutes. Finally realizing I was running late, I quickly blow dry my hair and throw whatever clothes on that I see. I grab my shoes, book bag and sprint directly to the door. I say goodbye to my parents and both my dogs, Torino and Gus, which I never normally do that, but I just did that day for some reason.
