The first time I heard about Business Professionals of America (BPA), I was in 10th grade, I thought I definitely did not belong in that organization, first of all because I was not Professional and secondly because I did not know about business. I had a persistent friend that finally convinced me to join and at first I thought it was a waste of time since I did not know anyone at first. Now as I look back I am glad I joined because BPA has changed my life greatly. I have become more responsible and overall I have become a leader. I joined BPA in 2014 and I had to join individual and team events. It was a problem at first for I always preferred doing things on my own. I had to come to practices and I had to learn to rely on other people. I
In my many years in working for the state of Georgia, I have worked in several groups, but the one that stands out the planning committee that I was serving on with my co-worker. We were trying to organize a non-profit organization called It takes a Village. We had a rough start but we worked to together and everyone understood the main goal and we all got assigned certain duties and once we complete the assigned task we, always assisted the other team members so that we get the job done.
I had the chance to attend the final legislative breakfast of the year sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce on April 17th. When I first walked into the room I wasn’t sure where I was supposed to sit or if there was something I had to do before I sat down. Luckily, one of the ladies from the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce noticed I was a little lost, so she asked me if I was a student and then she showed me where my seat was, right in front of the representatives’ tables and the podium. More people started to show up and eventually, Representative Curt Hanson, Senator Mark Chelgren, and Representative David Heaton arrived.
I identified priorities in my patient assignments when one of my patients became unstable. I had a patient whose pulse oximetry was reading in the 80% with 6 L of oxygen. At that time, that patient was my main priority. I quickly got my preceptor, and informed her of the situation. She informed the physician and I implemented the order to give the patient IV Lasix to diuresis the fluid out of the patient’s lungs so he could breathe better. We ended up calling a code and we moved him to the ICU where he could be constantly observed.
On July 8, 2016, I passed through TSA security between 4:00 a.m. and 4:12 a.m.
BPA is an industrial chemical used to make plastics. BPA stands for bisphenol A. BPA Is used in a wide assortment of products from packaged food to dishes. FDA approved BPA for use in the 1960s.1 The effect of BPA on human health has been highly disputed by FDA and scientists. It is estimated that over 90% of the United States populous is exposed to BPA on a daily basis (Brennen, 2017). To fully understand the ramifications of this chemical an examination of research is required.
Last spring, I was in Hershey Park, going on rides with my friends and having what was supposed to be the best time of my life with the Future Business Leaders of America club. For pictures, I smiled, but there was this nagging guilt inside of me. I tried to quell it. I told myself that I should be happy. I made it to the state level again, and I might make it to the national level again, too. Even so, I could not be sadder.
First and foremost, no matter what, I will complete the remaining 10-12 classes in order to get my BS in business. The road to earning this degree has been long and tedious – through single-parenting hardships, surgeries, and grandchildren – nonetheless, I move forward. Another goal currently in progress is to engage in the successful launch of a protocol that I have written. After completing the final touches with the copyright office, the marketing process will begin. Currently, it is under review with the Commission to Eliminate Child Abuse, Neglect, and Fatalities, and My Florida Market Place has accepted me as a vendor. This protocol was created to keep third party agency social workers in compliance because the ‘in-house quality control’
Currently, the global annual production of BPA exceeds seven billion pounds and seems to be growing. I am not surprised why the chemical and plastics industries are trying very hard to deter new rules
On Tuesday 18th, 2017 I interviewed Elizabeth Surprenant the systems Administrator for B. F. Saul Company & Affiliates (Real State Company). Before I decided to interview her, I first targeted the type of occupation that I want to know more information. Economics my targeted major. Due to my interest in economics, I decided to interview Ms. Surprenant, who has a bachelor degree in Accounting and she doubled major in economics. There were 2 degrees of separation between this Ms. Surprenant and me. I contacted her via email and set up a meeting to discuss some details about her occupation.
Throughout high school, I continuously explored a wide variety of courses in an attempt to figure out what career path I may want to pursue. As senior year drew closer, the business field became more enticing. Furthermore, my aspirations were significantly impacted on the evening of September 14, 2016. I woke up that day and left for school as if it were any other day. After school, I drove to the softball field because we had a game and it just so happened to be Senior Night: the last home game. When it came time for my first at bat, I stepped up to the plate and hit a line drive between the first and second basemen, successfully making it to first base. The next player up to bat hit a double; I rounded second and sprinted for third. I clearly remember my coach kneeling on the ground to signal me to slide into third base. For some unknown reason, I hesitated and slid too late. I knew it was a bad slide, but I was focusing on whether or not I was safe. Then reality set in, I was safe, but I was not physically capable of standing up.
Have you ever felt robbed of a childhood? At the age of six, I was placed into the DYFS system. I moved from house to house, not really having the chance to grow up like normal children. I didn’t get to experience things such as ; asking my older sister advice on boys, learning how to cook grandma’s favorite recipe, or going on family vacation to Disney world . I worked hard to get where I am right now. My experiences have made me of who I am today , my story will tell you my background, where I came from and why my application is incomplete without it.
First I just want to point out the obvious and say that you have an enormous heart. It must be so hard for you meeting these inmates and seeing their potential and most times seeing them revert to their old ways. I think that has to be the most painful part of it all. I know your supervisor once told you “our mission can’t be affected by individual successes or failures.”- Alice Layton. Which is what kept you going. It’s true, but it doesn’t take the sad disappointing feelings away. It’s amazing what you do, but it’s also very hard emotionally. For that I salute you. I love how invested you truly are. That fact that they feel comfortable enough to speak to you about the crimes they have committed is insane. That just goes to show how committed you are to helping them better themselves. In addition to
We haven't talked in a while so I thought I send you a quick e-mail. My life has been school, running, sleep, and music! School is going well like all my teachers (for the most part)! I haven't raced yet in cross country because I got sick a few week ago... I am just not getting over it, and I was supposed to have a meet on Saturday, but it was canceled due to horrible course conditions. I have been spending a lot of time producing music... Over this last summer, I got very serious about it. Realistically, I don't think it will be a career field for me, but you never know, and I really enjoy it. I've thought myself a lot, but I think I will be meeting with some actual audio engineers to learn even more. Right now music production
Better Living Industries took over in the fall of 2012 right after Halloween. They seemed to think they deserved full control after extinguishing massive fires. They slipped a bunch of Better Living Pills into the kids candy, the kids were then taken and told to give the pills to their parents without them knowing. The pills were to get rid of “unwanted emotions and to strengthen the body,” once the parents took the pills, everything went downhill. We were struggling to maintain our planet but after the pills were consumed, everyone was brainwashed to think Better Living Ind. was the best thing to happen to us. I might be one of the only people who saw pasted the pills, i didn’t go trick or treating that year, I went to my best friend Anna’s house and we stayed in and
Growing up, I will admit that I struggled at times to communicate with individuals from other areas because of my southern drawl. I spent much of my time growing up around farmers and livestock, and never had to articulate words. It was not until my junior year of high school that I even recognized this as a problem. An individual from up North moved to my school and pointed this out to me. As I began my freshman year of college, I found this to be a noticeable problem as I had to repeat myself on numerous occasions. Over the course of my four years at UNC Charlotte, I have grown by leaps and bounds in this area. I can contribute much of the improvement to working in corporate America. Having interned at three companies, each one helped me
