Every year during the summer, my friends and I travel to Manchester, TN. What is in Manchester, TN one might ask? A 700 acre farm solely kept beautiful for us and another 80,000 people from across the nation. We camped four days on this farm and revel in the several amounts of activities, music, and art. The event is called Bonnaroo Music Festival, which holds a big place in my heart. On the farm, I felt a part of a community and a family. The Farm, and or Bonnaroo Music Festival has changed my life as well as my perspective because I feel free to express myself, free to enjoy an array of cultures as well as music and food, and appreciate everyone’s uniqueness. I would hope everyone could try to experience Bonnaroo, and experience what I have on the farm someday. There is a certain ambiance I felt when I first arrived at the farm that I always take with me anywhere I go. For …show more content…
Thus, my first experience in the festival changed how I am because of that message and the fact that people on the farm clearly follow that way of thinking and being. It resonated with me on a huge scale that I knew that this is how I should be outside of the farm. The everyday people that volunteer, who are incredibly important to how the festival functions, are what make the festival feel genuine. When entering the festival, I would receive endless and nonstop high fives, smiles, and laughs from volunteers to the festival-goers. Once I am inside of what Bonnaroo calls “centeroo” I notice everyone’s willingness to be themselves from dancing and dressing how they please. In that, being on the farm made me feel that I could do that as well, and I did. Everyone has such different faces and different ways of expressing who they are that I could not help but smile. Whenever I could I walked around barefoot because on the first day when the
On this somewhat rainy weekend, nearly 500,000 people came together for the largest music festival of its time on a dairy farm in Bethel, New York, and was simply known as Woodstock. The festival included 32 acts and was “widely considered to be the definitive nexus for the larger counterculture generation”. This was a weekend in which peace and acceptance throughout the country was celebrated and communicated through love and music, just like during the Watts and Altamont music festival. The man who owned the dairy farm even mentioned that “the near half million group of young people that came to Woodstock proved to the world that they can get together for fun and music, nothing but fun and
“Dallas is an amazing city, so I hope that when people come here they don’t see this as the Wild Wild West in terms as the cowboy stereotype,” King said. Hopefully this festival will achieve just that, for people from all over the world have expressed interest in Dallas, and this festival gives incentive for tourists and Dallasites to explore the
Have you seen those weird music festival T-shirts that people wear and wonder what someone could possibly want to wear that for? While they’re sometimes meant to catch attention of people so they may want to look up the festival, it also serves as a reminder for many amazing memories for the two or three-day event. For a long time now music has changed people’s lives in many ways. It has brought people to fame and lifted many out of depressions. But, to those who haven’t experienced a festival, or even live music in general, you have been missing out an amazing social experience like no other. From the kings of festivals like Woodstock or Coachella to the lesser known ones like Rock on the Range (Hard rock/metal based) and Day for Night (variety) there are hundreds to pick from. One of my favorites is Carolina Rebellion which takes place right in this state.
Hi folks, thanks for the response to my previous blog. However, my slothful ways have caught up to me and need to finish this blog that’s a few weeks overdue for the Minnesota State Fair. Although, I enjoyed my time at the Minnesota State Fair, I didn’t get a chance to go to the Renaissance Fair as I was worn down from the fair and was tired of hordes of people. However, I was able to go to the Fair and partake in the music, the culture, and the delicious food. Although my dental regime was not on par for the toothache that commenced after eating those sweet awesome cookies. I will explain later in the blog, by all means read further on some tips for you to go to next year’s fair.
Guitars were strumming. Vendors were yelling. Voices were singing. You probably do not know what those three things have in common. You may have a rough idea, but not anything about where it was, or what happened there. Here is what I think about when given these three ideas: a Luke Bryan concert at Wrigley Field. Many people groan at the thought of country music, however many others, along with artists, love the sound of country music. As Maren Morris beautifully serenades in her hit,"My Church", "I find my soul revival, singing every single verse. Yeah, I guess that 's my church." This song is about how listening and singing country music relaxes her and makes her forget about all of her problems. I feel the exact same way, though I had
It was advertised as three days of peace, love, and music, but was it really? The Woodstock Music and Arts Fair was held in New York in August of 1969. The crowd, formed by mostly drug-addicted youth, yearned for a peaceful weekend away from the constraints of society, however, the gathering turned out to be overcrowded and chaotic. Despite the unpredicted crowd and logistical problems with the venue, the audience made the festival memorable when they came together to enjoy the reason they came in the first place: the performances. With performances by stars like Joan Baez, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, and the Who, the Woodstock Music and Arts Fair became one of the most popular music festivals of the 1960s (“Hippies” 4).
Bonnaroo is one of the most popular summer music festival located in the United States. It has been going on for the last 15 years in Manchester, TN just 30 minutes outside of Nashville. It is also one of the most organized festivals I have been to and that is why I keep going back. They are well organized from the second you get there till everyone is gone. The way they have you enter and go through security at the entrance, wristbands they can scan, and a number of people they have directing people. One thing you cannot forget about is the food trucks they have and how well organized they even have that with what foods they have. Of course with any festivals there are always some negatives and the only one that comes to mind besides the traffic,
It’s 2001 and bluegrass is playing from a stereo in the back. The room is draped in brown hues, with dark wooden paneling that seems to come straight from some 70’s interior decorating magazine, illumed into caramel by the vestigial light of a sun recently set behind gold-licked Pennsylvania fields and mountains of blue. It’s warm to the point that just a degree more would be uncomfortable, but for now the smooth waves of heat thrumming from a low fire in the hearth contribute to that familiar air of peaceful post-dinner drowsiness, soft conversation buzzing among family. A 3-year-old sits on the carpet. Her ears naturally tune out those words that, being without pitch, bore her. Instead, they lead her to that stereo out of which banjos and clear-cut notes blare, and she sways as she sits.
The visual art piece “Adventure” by Sarah Ann Johnson is a part of her project called Field Trip which being exhibited at the Julie Saul Gallery. Field Trip intent to visualise the unreal psychological state of modern day music festival attendees, who are gather to celebrate their freedom through music and nature despite going against the social norms.
These past three years in the band have had an incredible impact on my life. Although it all started in 6th grade, when I first picked up a flute, I feel that I have grown more in these three years than I have in the total of my 6 years in band.
The Woodstock festival descended on Bethel, New York promising three days of peace and music. Event organizers anticipated 15,000 people would attend but were overwhelmed by the 300,000 people that flooded this rural area of New York state from August 15 -17, 1969. While these facts are well known and indisputable, the festival itself has proven to be a controversial endeavor. What began as a small business venture was soon brimming with the controversy of an entire decade. It becomes clear when examining the strikingly different accounts of the festival that reactions varied depending on the fundamental values and personal circumstances specific to each observer and to the

Initial Preview: Throughout this speech you will learn about the birth and development of the modern music festival, how they have transformed, and why they have.
On this particular night, locals are given an opportunity to share their passion with the world. And I’ve been fortunate enough to see it all-- from the emotional teenager reading their shitty poetry, to the
