The guardian online analyst and comparison compared to the Australian newspaper
The guardian has successfully made their home page look extremely appealing. Sectioning off every article making them look exclusive. The guardian has also used the space very effectively while making the page not look crowded. They have cleverly accompanied pictures with articles trying to coax the reading into finding out more and larger pictures accompany more important articles. The guardian focuses on relevant and important stories which really make it an appealing news publication for people who want to get the whole story, predominately adults probably. The guardian has a very simple style with a very sophisticated overtone, it’s also like a jig soar of a

Wow this article is very attractive and forces the reader to investigate what the article is all about. Titled “Taylor Swift/ Signer accused of racism in African colonial fantasy video”, the reader knows that such an attractive girl as portrayed in the picture would never do such a thing but wants to make certain and proceeds to read the article. What a useful way to attract the reader’s attention by leaving the reader in to minds weather to believe the picture or the article.
Everyone knows about bad boy Nick Kyrgios’ behaviour and would be interested to investigate this article because of the tile “ Not the tonic Nick Kyrgois hoped for, but an admirable display nevertheless.” Instantly the reader is hooked because it seems that Nick Kygrios has finally grown up and behaved for once. Wow again until you read the fantastic orangre strip which reveals that he has been throwing his raquet and recevied an umpire code vialation, again the article forces the reader into two minds has Nick Kyrgios really changed or not because of the conflicting

They use appealing and conflicting titles to put the reader in two minds and forces them to read on and find out if the articles tilte was accurate. They also use larger fonts for titles to express their importance and force them to be read first. They also only place pictures on articles which are important or are supposed to be important and the larger images are usually only confined to one per page.
The differences are numerous though including the guardian tends to report on a wider varity of stories and are not as focused on specific news, buissness and sport. They tend to report on articles that will impress a wide varity of audiences and also tend to be aryou lot of lifestyle and celebrity news which is irelevent to the Australian who focus on buissness, relevent news and sport. If you read the Australian newspaper from front to back you would barely find any news relating to celebrities or lifestyle, although it would be hard to miss the buissness journal or the articles which usually refer to tax cuts or politics. Even the sport is sometimes different even though some of the content is similar it is amost 100% certain that some articles featured will be different. The content of the articles are writing style is similar both very formal and sophisticated. They both cover the articles indepth and allow the
Have you ever read a book that catches you off guard with a certain ending or maybe just a character passing. This is called suspense and we have all experienced suspense at least once. They have to have an image and different ways it could possibly end either good or bad. The book that can catch the reader with a lot of suspense is a book called "Unbroken". Throughout history things have changed in society, especially in the past fifty years. Society has allowed the creators to either cater to the consumers wants or to do as they please. By allowing the creators to have this power, the society that is known today has both people pleasers and people that like to be in control. Newspapers have went from trying to cater to their audience to choosing to provide the information the way that they believe will attract more views. Cell phone creators were able to change how contacting someone over the phone from only a specific place into being able to do so at anytime and anywhere. Newspaper creators of The Onion take a different approach than the makers of cell phones on how they attract their consumers but they have both changed to adhere to the time period.
Some observations I have made about news articles and magazines when searching for information myself, is these type of sources tends to use enticing titles to grab the reader’s attention, which I have personally found to be very effective. Also, these sources use language and vocabulary that makes it easy for individuals who have never heard of the topic to understand. Organizationally, these sources do not typically have different subheadings, instead it usually is a writing with various paragraphs. Being that these type of sources could be considered less “formal”
Comparing two newspaper articles, one from a tabloid and one from a broadsheet will convey the different techniques that tabloids and broadsheets use to present stories. Media in general, aim to inform and interest the audience which consist of many different types. Diverse emotions and ideas are created by the media; foremost tabloids. Tabloids are papers like ‘The Sun’, ‘The Mirror’, ‘The Daily Mail’, ‘The Express’ and ‘The Star’. In contrast to these are broadsheets like ‘The Times’, ‘The Guardian’ and ‘The Daily Telegraph’. Broadsheets are often known as the ‘quality press’ being more informing and formal in the manner they convey information and news stories.
As “journalism is built on credibility,” (Cassidy, 2007, p. 478) one of the main comparisons between print and online is the ability that online media provides for following up sources. Cassidy states that “online journalists …. Make allowances for interactivity, and asses ways of connecting related stories to each other via hyperlinks,” (Cassidy, 2007, p. 482) which can be shown in the Guardian as stories related to the article can be seen hyperlinked to the left. Similarly by using the Guardian’s online archive, the reader is able to search for previous articles on the subject, as well as look up the credibility alongside the article. As the Australian is print, the only way to be able to see previous editions and articles would be to find a collection of the papers. Similarly, the availability of linking similar texts is constrained to only the stories already mentioned in the current edition, meaning that if the reader is interested in finding out more on the topic they will have to find another source. The format of each differs significantly, as the Guardian has each article linked from a quote and sometimes a picture, and despite the Australian having continued stories on later pages, the format is constrained to small text boxes. Having articles online allows for large amounts of space and easy to read text along with a colourful format to
The layout and design of a newspaper are the most important elements to attract readership and optimize the newspaper’s effectiveness in presenting information (Holmes, Hadwin & Mottershead, 2014).
The Grapes of Wrath is a great example of the historical events that have happened in America. The book focused of the things that took place in the 1930s when the book was written. Steinbeck focuses on three main events that took place and they were the Depression, Dust Bowl, and the New Deal. All of these things have had a great impact on everyone’s life that have survived through the great ordeals. This book let you in on what the people went through in the 1930s and how they moved on from it.
One of the articles that was given to see if the article was credible was by the Huffington Post. The article has some credibility to it but it was not a lot. The Huffington post is not credible because it has accessibility issues. Meaning that reading the articles is a difficult. In the article, there was a lot of advertisements that were present. Advertisements in the article are lining the sides in the beginning of article. Advertisements are trying to attract the eye of the consumer. Which is distracting to the reader. Also there is an advertisement in the middle of the article which it makes it harder to read the article continuously. The article need to be accessible for it to be reliable. If the article has little accessibility it makes it
Throughout the past year I went through a great deal of undertakings that caused me to become more experienced with my skills and how to overcome various challenges. These really built up my character and the way I am today. In all aspects, this past year consisted of going to Killington, Vermont, my brother going into the Air Force, meeting him in Texas for his graduation of basic training, completing a double backflip on a trampoline, landing a front flip on flat ground, accomplishment of a 2 ½ front flip on a diving board, getting 2nd at leagues, and competing in districts. All of these activities have advanced me in a skill or challenged me to an extent.
The title page looks like it is created by a non-professional, freelance kind of group. It doesn’t look very organized, the website looks like it was created in less than a day by a generic website constructor. Throughout the title screen there are many clickbait titles that appear to be biased and look like they are written the way they are to get more hits on the page, rather than actually show information to it’s readers. The titles of each section also commonly have buzzwords which trigger people’s emotions which should generate more clicks on the website, I am just not sure how much actual news the site shares. By looking at the title screen, it is hard to see which bias they are holding before reading the articles because it appears
More news is coming out about Rob Kardashian and his marriage to Blac Chyna and it does not leave one with a warm fuzzy feeling of support. Kim Kardashian West expresses her outrage over one vital element that everyone entering marriage must have in place. According to Radar Online, April 14, 2016, Rob wants to marry Blac Chyna without a prenuptial agreement and his family is extremely worried that she will take everything that Rob has.
When first visited, the site is seen to be broadsheet formatted; the articles are organized into cubes. Each cube contains a minor summary and a picture to associate with the the article’s main purpose. If readers are to be intrigued then, with a simple click, they will have access to the entire article. The website today still grasps onto its traditional ways; business and finances. It is most likely that the audience will be slapped in the face with business and stock news before any other. After previewing several articles, it can be assured that Wall Street Journal exercises professionalism through their articles; they use exceptionally high vocabulary while still maintaining appropriate and attention grabbing content. Just like the neighboring La Times or the New York Times, the articles are set-up in a very similar fashion. Inceptive to the articles are the headlines, followed by the subheadings, then the publisher(s) along with the dates, and finally the article
It was a frigid March evening in the mountains of Colorado when I began to see life in a new way. While on a youth ski trip hiding from an armed man outside the cabin, I came to a point in my life that changed my way of living. This experience brought me to the realization that I will not always be guaranteed tomorrow so live each day I have to the fullest. I never thought a trip to the mountains of Colorado would help me see life from a new perspective; however, I thought wrong.
The moment I laid eyes on that place, I knew that would regret ever coming here in the first place. It was a hot June in the summer of 2015, and even hotter in the southern state of Alabama. I had arrived at Marion Military Institute, my home for the next dreaded two weeks which seemed to be hurling at me faster than ever before. I was still a kid then. And I know what you must be thinking, “How can someone turn from a kid to an adult in just two weeks?” Well, that answer takes a lot more than just words on a paper to explain to someone. You would have to experience it, the heat, the screaming Marine Core drill instructor, the temptation to give up, all of it.
Human development is an essential aspect in early childhood education. This essay is going to discuss the theories of three human development theorists, Urie Bronfenbrenner, John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth’s. Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems theory is concerned with family, cultural and social influences and all the other environmental elements. Bowlby’s Attachment theory and Stages of attachment and Ainsworth’s “Strange Situation” research which breaks down attachment into three types are related to the relationship between adults and children. These theories are all associated with socio-cultural theory, which is throughout the New Zealand early childhood curriculum Te whariki (Ministry of Education, 1996).
