As a requisite to write my feature paper, I interviewed Emma Ann Davey, who’s an eighth grade student at Vilas Middle School. Davey, born on February 25, 2004 at the local Keene hospital, Dartmouth on an early Wednesday morning at 4:30am. She describes herself as organised she thinks of herself as organized because, “I organize all my stuff and my room everyday, I can't sleep in my room if it's a mess.” Being organized can be a difficult task for some but for others is a habit. A highly used website called Merriam-Webster Dictionary, states that being organized is, “having a formal organization to coordinate and carry out activities.” Being an organized person overall can help you in the lang run. When Davey was about 3 ½ years old, she had a major life crisis. She had a lot of mixed feelings because at her age, she was not sure what was going on, so you could say that she was sad. She thinks today that it was a good decision to move away from her dad. Davey’s dad, Daniel Davey, is her biological father. She moved away from her dad because he was not a good role model. She states, “My dad was not hurting my mom physically, but emotionally.” For instance, her father was drunk most of the time and that was not fair to her or her mom. He …show more content…
A couple of things that changed were obviously she did not see her dad much anymore, went to a different school, and moved into a different state, because her dad lived in Springfield, Vermont, and she moved to Charlestown, New Hampshire. As stated earlier, Davey thinks of herself as organized, she thinks that she is organized is, “I guess my life with my dad was just a huge mess, so now I want to get through that and change something.” This is when she started being organized. Another reason is that she has OCD which is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, which is when everything has to be neat and organized or it annoys her so
School communities must have leaders that continually strive to learn, grow, and reflect on their experiences to make a significant impact. I plan to incorporate these same ideas when embarking on my new role as a supervisor. I have expanded and refined my experiences as a teacher since I embarked with cohort four on this leadership journey, and I feel equipped to be the effective leader that will truly make a difference in our schools. This year’s courses and high expectations from our faculty have provided me the opportunities to reflect on my strengths and weaknesses on a scale larger than that of the classroom. Our projects and meaningful discussions have helped shape my leadership philosophy.
Misinterpretation Many female serial killers use covert methods of death, and because of this their crimes are initially misclassified as something other than the homicide that it is (Farrell et al, 2011, p. 245). When a murder is labeled incorrectly, such as being ruled natural, than investigation may cease and evidence could be lost. The longer it takes for them to restart investigation the more likely it is that evidence will have been destroyed or gone missing. That is, if they ever find reason to change their opinion and reopen the case. Female serial killers may be underrepresented for this reason, people do not know that those dead are actually victims and there is a murderer on the loose.
One’s life must be lived, not controlled. Humanity continues to succeed by being able to and strongly in the face of an obstacle. However in two of George Orwell’s most famous novels, the characters are unable to stand against this corrupt force. George Orwell (June 25, 1903-January 21, 1950), a well known British novelist, presents two novels which depict the struggle between a human and his society, where both dig deeper into the effects of propaganda, fear, lack of freedom, and control of people. George Orwell, born in India to British parents in the early 20th century, spent a large time of his 20s in wars and battles, and was surrounded by other Europeans who constantly spoke of totalitarianism and similar forms of governments. After listening to everyone around him speak of these ideas, he began to write many books which revolved around the concept of a government’s absolute power, and one’s struggle to enjoy the simple pleasures of life despite this overarching control. Each novel features a more progressive and aware protagonist, who is cognizant of the unjust and repressive injustices being committed by their government. However, even they have difficulty thwarting the efforts of their unrighteous governments, and eventually succumb to its pressure, proving the immense power that the government possesses. This essay will discuss each novel separately according to the three main supports given.
First, I’m an expert at being organized because I carry an agenda with me. In my agenda, I write down important events that are coming up or just to remind myself of other things. For instance, I write down any important detail
Being well organized not only helps you and your life at your work it also helps at home as well. You’re not constantly worry about where is this or I have to do that. To families it also looks better as well.
There are types of people who are very well organized, and there are others who are not. Without a doubt, everyone has their own method to staying organized. I, for one, am organized, neat, and clean; whereas my twin [Brittany] is the complete opposite. The more I collaborate with Brittany, the more I start to notice our similarities and differences. Staying organized is a perfect method to knowing where everything is; but it can be difficult to work with Brittany in certain situations.
First and foremost, organization has a huge role in your journey. An example would be weight loss, it’s a difficult task to workout three times a day or trying to eat clean while there is a lot of temptation surrounding you. That is why you need to stay organized because you can plan out your meals of head of time and make a workout session where you can exercise once a day and still
The best thing about reading this year was the strict scheduling. I loved that we were supposed to read everyday and we had a concrete foundation where we were able to choose our own book to read and were able to elaborate on it. With the concrete foundation I was able to always know that I had something to do and I always looked forward to reading the book that I chose.
In the article, Perception About Organ Donation Among African American, Hispanic, and White High School Students, was focused on a study which used the Health Belief Model to better understand how aware African Americans, Hispanic, and White high school students are about organ donation. The main population of the study conducted was 18-year-old students.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt once stated, “the only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” This quote is a historical quote from World War II; however to me, its significance goes farther than that. This quote is the story of my transition from a child to an adult. I had a phobia of addressing large crowds; the fact that everyone’s attention would be on me was abashing. This was true until I reflected on how my phobia was keeping me back from a lot of opportunities, such as class presentations and future public speaking events. After deep reflection, I made the courageous decision to audition to speak at my eighth grade promotion ceremony. This was quite a leap for an introvert such as myself; however, I persevered my way through the audition and won the role as the MC. The valiant decision to speak at my promotion ceremony has shaped who I am and what I am able to accomplish today.
The sand is cold, the sky overcast, and the waves crash against the shore echoing harshly through my ears. I see clouds rolling overhead, I can smell the salt of the ocean, feel the texture of the sand, taste the electricity on the air and it all points to the coming storm. Is it real? Can anything be real when seen through someone else's eyes, felt through someone else's skin, tasted through someone else's tongue, Breathed through someone else's nose, heard through someone else's ears? This is what the world looked like to her, felt like to her, but what did it look like to me, feel to me? Was there ever a me or only this continually changing sculpture, patterns of a person and nothing more. I shivered as the cold air caressed the flesh I wore.
Everyone remembers a time in their lives when their mom came through and saved the day. Mine happened to happen at 1:30 AM on a Saturday morning. To fully understand the story I’ll give some background.
This is the story about me. It is a very weird story which, no, I didn’t even want to do. Why am I doing this? It’s because of this school thing I have to do. Well, let’s get this over with.
Racing at night going One-hundred and forty miles an hour on US-27 holding the lead, Shift six gear, speed topped out at two-hundred miles per hour passing by cars smoothly. I chanted I am immortal, I am a god! while I pushed my sports bike to its limit. Suddenly a black car approaches. WHAM! I get Rammed from behind and lose control of my bike slamming into a Semi-truck up ahead. Lights out. When I peeked my eyes, I saw 4 humans around me. Thump after thumb I believe I was in an ambulance rushing down the turnpike. I looked around and the first words that came to my head are “Rick this is just a dream”. This is the story of how I escaped from an illegal laboratory that clones and modifies humans.
Organization means using your space wisely. Using things like computers to hold lots of information and keep
