“Knock, knock! Ding-dong! Ding-dong!” It was my sister, Karla, and her boyfriend, Celestino. It was 4 in the morning and I thought to myself, “What do they want? Its 4 in the morning.” Then I remembered, “We’re going to Florida, right now!” I quickly grabbed a blanket, pillow, and my suitcase. Then, I went in the van so that we could leave. It took us 1 hour to get everyone settled into the car and ready to go. It was 5 a.m. when we left my house and we were listening to music for little while. It was a 4 to 6 hour drive to get to Panama City, Florida. Since my Karla was pregnant at the time, she would get mad or frustrated during the car ride and to me it made it feel like it was a billion year drive to get to Florida! It was around 11:30 …show more content…
They had many things to choose to eat for breakfast, so I got 1 waffle and 1 mini donut. After breakfast, Victoria, my mom, Edgar, and I went back upstairs to change and go to the pool. We were on one of the top floors, so we took the stairs down to the pool instead of the elevator. I am honestly happy that we took the stairs because, while we were walking, I saw a flyer with an orca on it. I quickly picked up the pamphlet that was underneath the flyer and showed it to my mom. Sadly, my mom said that we couldn’t go to “Gulf …show more content…
We went to the beach one last time, but we also went to the pool and to the hot tub. While we were swimming, we were talking about how much fun we had while we were there. We also talked about all the amazing stuff we saw and how it was a very fun experience for all of us. We swam a little longer, then went back to our hotel room to take showers and get ready to leave. It was around 6 o’clock when we went to the check-in desk, only this time we were checking out. We weren’t supposed to check out until 6:30p.m., but we checked out at 6:00 because we were planning to drive around a little bit and go out to eat before we started our trip back to Georgia, so we were just driving around and going to eat. By 7:00p.m., we had started our trip back to our home in Georgia. While we were in the car, I quickly thanked my mom for letting us go to Florida and for paying for the
Baghdad, Iraq is where I was born and raised; I lived there for about 6 years during the most pivotal years of the war. My dad left when I was about 7 months. He went to Lebanon to live for a few years before settling in the United States. My mom took care of me and my siblings. War was going on in Iraq; people walked with a dying heart. Iraq was split into Shiite, Sunni, and Christianity. Sunni and Shiite do not have any issues with one another, but there are people who do not like the Shiites and caused civil strife between the two divisions of Islam. My family is Shiite and we do not believe in a separation between anyone because we are one, they are
Sitting in a hospital waiting room, alone, afraid; and waiting for the news; would she be ok? Would she even survive? My nerves were out of control; my heart was beating through my chest, you could literally see it thumping through my top. The beads of sweat racing down my forehead, as if I was in the middle of the Safari dessert. I have been an athlete my entire life, yet I have never felt so physically drained. I look around, my eyes opening, then closing; as if I am coming in and out of consciousness, then suddenly echoed words begin to ring around my ear drums….” Sir…...sir, can you hear me? Sir please, we need to know what happened. We need to know what happened to her. Maybe my motionless state showed my
I was ready. This was how we were going to start off the season. Everyone was ready, thinking this was it. We wanted to be the best team on the ice. The coaches came into the room saying, “Let’s go, boys. Let’s start the season off on fire . . . big win today!”
I been through a lot to be of assistance for this awesome police officer in Chicago, Illinois. I went through being distributed from Cupertino, California to Chicago, to being manufactured in South Korea, being made into many different parts to be an intermediate good, and being different parts as a raw material. I’m starting with who I am ,I am a iPhone 7 Red.{I know, I know, I am fancy} I am with this officer where I go all around Chicago with my owner Officer Jentson and we go fight crime and help other around our community. I came to Officer Jentson through the FedEx mail. I originally came from different parts of the world. Before I got to Officer Jentson I was in Cupertino, California going through the distribution process, that process
I arrived at practice with my shoes laced, hair pulled back, and the mindset that I was unstoppable. I could play against every member of my team and come out the victor on any given day. It was the first day of practice that week, and challenge matches were scheduled to begin. The team went through our daily shuffle of drills, conditioning, and running to prepare for what was lying ahead. While warming up with my friends, I felt great, talking about homecoming, boys, and a variety of irrelevant events. I felt ready. The odds were in my favor and nobody could stop me.
It was just the beginning of February. The winter cold, brutal, and yet normal for the people living in Michigan. My best friend Brian, his uncle Craig, and I were driving back together from Craig’s up north cottage. Brian and I were riding passenger with Craig in his Chevy Silverado pick-up. We were coming back from the annual Perchville Polar Bear Plunge that took place in Tawas, Michigan. A lot was on my mind since it was the second semester of my senior year, and graduation was right around the corner. I had no idea what I wanted to do, or where my future would take me.
Were I to name one thing unique about me, it would be that I’m one of the only people I know who can say from experience which is more difficult; writing a personal essay or surviving a life-or-death, take-no-prisoners spy shootout, complete with a crowd of bad guys, laser guns, and of course, a hero and a sidekick. I’m the sidekick.
About two years ago, my husband, my two sons and I lived in a small village, where we had our own farm that we took care of. My husband was a farmer, and we provided food that was sold to gain money. Our farm was prospering, and it did not seem like anything bad would happen. We spoke too soon. It was a tragic day; our crops wilted and died due to the dry, hot climate. With the loss of our crops, we could not make profit, so we did not have enough money to pay for our farm. In the end we lost everything. Luckily, we had enough money to rent land. This certainly was not the life I wanted for my family.
‘’I was on my way to back to school night I was extremely nervous to meet my teacher and when I got there I heard Andrew then I turned around and…’’ One time when I was in second grade I was on my way to back to school night I went to meet my teacher her name was Ms. Pepler. She was nice at helping me put my stuff in my desk but I thought she would be meaner in the school year so when me and my mom got back in the car I said ‘’I think Ms. pepler is going to be mean this year.’’ My mom said ‘’ she seemed really nice at back to school night’’ then I said maybe you're right.’’ Now it is the first day of school and I was nervous because I thought I had a mean teacher and I didn't have any friends it was just me and my cousin. The first day of
I was not an intentionally bigoted twelve-year-old. I was raised in an affluent suburban community where the vast majority of people are white. The 100% white private nursery school which I attended was chosen by my parents largely due to its proximity to our home. My public elementary school was about 70% white as it was populated with students who resided nearby. Finally, the private middle school which I attended, located almost an hour from my home, provided me with exposure to the most diverse student body of my youth as it was comprised of about 65% Caucasian children. What each of these formative academic experiences shared in common was both that their student bodies were disproportionately Caucasian, as well as that their senior administrators
First, we had to go to the airport which was Kci. We had all of our luggage packed and we were ready to get to Florida so we can get on the boat. Before we even think about getting on the boat we have to take a plane to Florida. The plane ride took four hours but the time flew by with the things we did on the plane,
Ring! Ring! My alarm rang at 5:15 am. I enthusiastically ran downstairs trying to let my legs get moving. The first thing I see is loads of bags and luggage. “Good morning, Ashley!” Mom and Dad cheered at me. I waved my hand and wondered about how they could be still efficacious with all the packing. Andrew is on the couch napping with a sausage
“Hello?, wake up!” I slightly opened my eyes to find a man in my face, I bolted up right “what are you doing!” I questioned. Then I started to remember I had been on a bus to Stanford. He must be the driver. I apologized for my rudeness and got up, and grabbed my bags. After again apologizing, I went off to find my dorm.
One Sunny morning in March 2010 I woke up getting ready for work. I couldn’t find where I put my keys to the apartment, but I found the keys. I arrived at work around 7:45 a.m. thinking and preparing for the school day. I entered the school and returned to my workstation to eat an apple and donut before starting bus duty. I walked up front to receive the students off the bus and carpool. Receiving the students with a warm good morning and a great big smile, ‘wow’ without my teeth showing, funny huh! While waiting for the last carpool, a person said to me, you didn’t have to go down like that. Meaning you did not deserve that. I said to the person, what are you talking about, I became confused. The person said to me you come to work on time,
It seemed like the weekend would never come. It did, and now she had to scramble to get preparations ready for Ray’s arrival this morning and Fiona and Emily’s for lunch.
