Personal Goals Paper
I want to step out of my comfort zone and challenge myself in the arena of public speaking. I want to meet new people. I want to share my ideas with people who haven't always known me. I want a boat. I want to enjoy myself at work as much as possible. I want to grow. I want to learn. I want to feel challenged. I want to create something that is mine. I want to make my parents proud. I want the feeling of accomplishment. I want more responsibility. I want more money.
I find myself on a vaguely familiar road. However, this time, the colors are different, they're brighter. I don't feel like I'm looking into an abyss. I think I can actually see the guy standing there with my diploma waiting for me. I couldn't see him

In the first class, I met some very nice and interesting people from all different backgrounds but with one common goal, a degree. Then my team was created. I met with my team on Tuesday night. Can I tell you how much I dig them? Although one fella couldn't find the place, him and I have spoken via email several times. The other two, Craig and Mike, made it and we chatted and bonded. I learned a lot about each of them. I think the consensus is that we're going to enjoy this class and look forward to the next year and a half. School doesn't feel dark and gray, it feels like an adventure I'm looking forward to embarking on.
Another reason I have returned to finish school is because I've been working towards it for the last decade or so. Like most youth, I thought the world owed me something. Wow, was I wrong. Not that I've reached mid-life but I have survived the quarter-life crisis. I guess that's my generation's way of asking the timeless question "what do I want out of life?" I guess it helps to feel like I'm a part of something bigger and that I'm not alone. It helps explain the apprehension of actually having to grow up and realize that stability and finances are important and that the things I want in life are ever changing, just like me. Life moves on whether I'm ready or not and having the tools to succeed and prosper is not only necessary but immeasurably valuable. These tools help to ultimately transition into adulthood.
At my
I decided to go to college because I believe that education is an important part of life and that being educated has many advantages. Like many, one of the biggest reasons for deciding to attend college is to create a better future for myself. Being a first-generation college student my parents have implanted on me the importance of college education, as it is something they wish they would have done themselves. As the first of four children to go to college, I feel that it is my responsibility to be a good example to my younger siblings, and show them that it is important to have goals in life and to better yourself as a person through education. I understand that an university education may not be for everyone, but it felt like the right choice for me. What I hope to get out of college is a life-changing experience, not only to get a better education, but to find something I am truly passionate about. I think it is important when choosing a career or a major to find something your heart truly wants and not just a career that will make you able to afford expensive things. I also hope that somewhere along the path to graduation and adulthood, I find myself as a person and develop ideas, opinions, and to be able to approach the world with an
I decided to go back to school for many reasons. First of all, it's always been a personal goal of mine to get a bachelor's degree. Over the years, I have taken courses to get close to that goal but I haven't been successful with completing it yet due to life experiences. Another reason I have decided to return to school is because I realize it's going to help with my career. I know getting a degree won't necessarily guarantee a promotion or raise but I believe it will provide more opportunities along the way. My ultimate goal for obtaining this degree is to use it towards getting a Master's degree.
I went back to school with the simple goal of getting my degree and moving ahead in my career. School, education and obtaining my degree were always important to me, since my profession requires a bachelor degree to qualify for national certification, it was a better
Some goals that I have set for myself are finishing my bachelor’s degree and get a good job that I
In order to be successful in life, many young adults feel as if they need to go to school and complete
The third reason why I’ve decided to return to school is to inspire. When I know that I have inspired someone I know that I have shown them that not only can I secure the future they can too. It is said that college-educated employees often meet job requirements and that is what I’m willing to show whoever is looking up to me. Not only will I be able to secure the future or set a good example, but I will also show that if you work hard those increasing in earnings will also be available. So, what better way to show the importance of a degree than to do it
I have two life goals. One is to be a doctor and the other is to be happy. For the purposes of this paper I am researching which major and medical school are best for me.
Life events rarely make memorable landmarks, that help determine your future and how to pursue life goals. However, in this very season of life I find myself consumed by the idea of fulfilling my purpose as God intended it. The life altering event of taking on a pastorate, brings everything into a new perspective. Bearing in mind that now there is a congregation I must give accounts for, makes me rethink life as I knew it. I am compelled to become as scholarly equipped as my mind can handle. My life has undertaken a reboot, and God’s mercy helps me perceive, and I P-U-S-H (pray until something happens) until God gives the answer.
As a child and even as a teenager one tends to make dreams and set goals for life. On occasion these goals are far stretched and sometimes even fairy-tale like, we tend to see life through a rose-colored glass, not taking into account the many sidetracks life throws our way. At that stage in life our goals tend to be less focused and somewhat unreachable. However, the process of growing up, or maturing, tends organized and center our goals, we learn to make compromises and set goals for our goals. There are different types of goals, short term and long term. I have learned to separate the many goals I have into three main categories: family, professional and personal.
One of the best ways to follow a successful path is to set goals for yourself. They are important to keep yourself on task and to get to a desired point of self fulfillment. The issue can be how to achieve goals in a successful manner. The issue is "Although people may desire or intend to attain some outcome, they are not committed to that as a goal until they are willing to invest affect, cognition, and behavior in attaining it" (Traci Mann, 2013). This is why it is important to have a set path on how to accomplish important goals. I have chosen three goals that I want to accomplish to demonstrate a Process known as SMART, to help accomplish them. There goals are that I want to finally earn a college degree(personal), I want to make it
Goal setting has always been an important factor in my life, because of that I have accomplished things that I am very proud of. Without goals it would make it very hard to succeed in life because there is nothing to work hard for. Goal setting is a constant reminder of the things that are important to you. It gives me the motivation to work hard every day so that I can achieve my goals. Goals are what keeps each of us different. Throughout my life, I hope to continue to set goals.
By going back to school and getting my degree I am opening up potentially lots of doors for myself in the future. I am setting a good example for my boys and that no matter what age you are, it is never too late to go back to school and further your education. Education is the key to opening up positions in the workplace that someone without an education would not be able to pursue. The benefits will far out way the time and work that it will take for me to complete my degree. This will be something that I can be proud of and prove to myself and others that no matter how hard the goal may seem or how long it may take you to reach the end results, it is always worth it to follow your dreams. I am extremely motivated to accomplish this goal for myself.
My personal goal as a student at the University of Phoenix is to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management within the next two years. This goal is very important to me because of the impact it will have on my family, work and personal life. In my family it will set a positive example for my daughters, grandchildren, and youngest sister. My family has been a source of support throughout my years in college as I have pursued this degree while maintaining a full time job. Obtaining the degree will be an accomplishment not only for me but also for my family who has given me the encouragement to reach my goal. I would like for my grandchildren to remember their grandmother as a strong and educated woman.
In life, purpose helps drive your passions in life and take you wherever you may want to go. Everyone has their purposes that guide them and keep the light at the end of the tunnel lit. There are many different purposes that can hold a place in your life’s journey such as academic, career, and personal purposes. My overall purpose in life is to be able to have a life that I am proud of and to have a life that I did not simply settle for. In my career, I hope to be a successful lawyer who has changed other’s lives for the better. My academic goal is to always be a student in all situations with a desire to learn at every opportunity that arises. Finally, my personal goal in life is to never settle for anything and to always
My whole life I have always wanted to become a successful engineer, and graduate from the University of Cincinnati. Some of my goals in life are to go to the University of Cincinnati. Another one of my goals is to become some type of engineer. But as of right now I would like to be a aerospace engineer. To be honest I really don’t know what influenced me to want to become and engineer. But something about engineering always appealed to me for some reason. But lately my engineering teacher has had a positive impact on me and is really making me like engineering and the overall field. So I guess that Mr. Smith has influenced me into being an engineer. My plan b is to be an engineer too. But this type of engineering would just be easier to
