I try to remember that when all I can see is the women who sat , blank and unreadable while her children turns to skin and bones page 8. There are several reasons on how katniss and peeta have a unlike kind of family and background
Before the games start, we find out that Peeta – the male tribute from District 12, has long ago developed romantic feelings for Katniss. They’re advised by their mentor to play along with that outburst, in order to gain more wealthy sponsors. Their story gains a big amount of attention and the Capitol portrays them
Katniss recognizes that she has to separate out her feelings regarding Peeta, but in the book she is never allowed the opportunity to do so. "I haven't even begun to separate out my feelings about Peeta. It's too complicated… Or because of how it would be viewed back in District 12… But I won't have that luxury for who knows how long." (Collins
On page 135 the book had said that “It was my Idea. Says Peeta. Haymitch just helped. You made me look weak. Said Katniss. He made you look desirable. Said Haymitch”. This goes to show that when Peeta said that he had like Katniss he had just said that to turn the tables and hope to get more sponsors. This is a good example to think that Peeta was just playing the audience.
She had love for Peeta, then Gale, then back to Peeta, then back to Gale, and then the Hunger Games arrived and it was back to Peeta. While this was interesting in the first book, the battle between the two seemed so repetitive. Also, as much as Katniss is indecisive between Gale and Peeta, I was upset between the lack of Gales presence in the book. If Katniss was going back and forth between loving the two boys, Gale should have made more of presence in order to fight for her. Peeta is still distant to us as readers and we did not know much about him. The basic thing we did know about him is that he is a baker's son and somewhat loved, and still loves, Katniss.
Katniss never would have left District 12 if the thought her family wasn’t safe. She knew she was very lucky to have someone so close to her, who would do whatever it took to take care of her family while she was fighting for her life
There were many differences, and similarities between the book and movie version of the hunger games by Suzanne Collins. One difference at the start of the movie and book, was that katniss ate warm rolls and hot chocolate, and so did peeta. So every time katniss thought of peeta, she thought of him tossing that bread to her in the rain, and when he was eating the rolls and hot chocolate. She did not do that in the movie though,so every time she thought of
Katniss displays masculine qualities in the movie. She carries a bow and knows how to hunt. She fights and kills when she has too and that is what makes her a survivor. She would rather let her actions speak instead of words, just like a man does. Katniss keeps herself guarded and emotional unavailable to men. Then you have Peeta who lets you see more feminine qualities during the movie and book. Peeta’s family owns a bakery, so he does know how to bake pies and bread. Peeta is kind and sweet-hearted and that is why he have Katniss bread one time from his bakery (Holmes, 2013).
(Pg. 294), Katniss orders Peeta to become the cook and gatherer in the quote, while she hunts and this portrays how Peeta is seen more as a female role due to this. Since peeta is resting most of the time and Katniss is hunting, it can easily be seen how Katniss is more beneficially set to survive and is Peeta’s hero, while Peeta is not set to survive and Katniss has to protect him due to that and this quote proves it ““I wont be much help with that,” Peeta says. “I’ve never hunted before.”” (Pg. 295) and “I mean we would have been dead, too,” (Pg. 320). My evidence shows how if it wasn’t for Katniss, Peeta would had been dead, because 1.
Katniss is extremely protective over her sister, Primrose. She would basically do anything for her, including risking her own life. Once her mother became a wreck, she had to raise Prim as if she were her own child. She had to provide for Prim, since her mother was incapable to do so. It was a lot to ask for from such a young girl, but with a lot of perseverance, she managed to do it for several years. Katniss could never even fathom leaving Prim: “Who is the only person in the world I’m certain I love... We can’t leave, so why bother talking about it?” (10).
In this section of the novel The Hunger Games written by Suzanne Collins, the topic being compared and contrasted are the character traits and game strategies of Katniss and Peeta from the beginning of the book until the games. Katniss and Peeta have many differences and a few similarities. Earlier in the book we learn that they both come from District 12, and they both have the same intentions to win The Hunger Games, although they have complete opposite strategies to win the game. In this section Peeta aligned himself with the “Careers”, which are a group of tributes who trained their whole lives to compete in The Hunger Games, the careers are the most strongest tributes in the game, he grouped up with them to protect Katniss, which shows
They both became closer when both theirs dads died in the same mine shaft explosion. Why Katniss wont choose Peeta. He told He told the whole world that he like a girl in The Hunger Games which made Katniss look like a fool. She does not really like peeta and had a fake friendship. I think that Peeta and Katniss will win The Hunger Games.
Katniss was always very close to her little sister Prim. Prim meant the world to her and she always did her best to protect her. Katniss loved Prim so much that she even put her own life before hers when she “stepped up to take Prim’s place”(24) as tribute. Katniss’ father was a very influential on her. He taught her how the woods could provide for her but also that they could be dangerous. Even after he had died he was still important to her. After her dad past, Katniss’ mother became drastically depressed and was unable to provide for her children. Katniss never truly forgave her for abandoning them in their time of need. With her mother in a comatose state Katniss decided she would have to protect and provide for Prim. All the hunting, gathering and buying of tesserae was for Prim’s sake. To keep them out of the community home
There are other ways in which the stereotypical gender traits and roles are swapped for Katniss and Peeta. In the first film, Peeta admits that even his mother sees Katniss as stronger than he is. Peeta's camo gifts come from his experience with cake decorating, and he plays forager in the arena while she goes in search of meat. He's emotional and expressive while she's sullen and closed off — "I'm not good at 'saying something,'" she tells him in The Hunger Games at the start of what she understands to be a pretend romance, but which he believes is real. He's the more fragile one, getting seriously wounded by one of the Careers in the first film, and almost dying again in the second, courtesy of an encounter with a force field.
During the game Katniss have to pretend that she loves Peeta, but inside she knows that her real love was Gale and that he was waiting for her. It was hard for all of them because Gale was outside seeing how Peeta kiss his girlfriend, and for Peeta because he knows that Katniss was in love with another boy and not of him, and to Katniss because maybe she was with Gale, but passing time with Peeta and look how he tries to saved her life make her get confused about her feelings so she focused in what is good for her, and not of what she real want.
Neither wants to live without the other. The producers of the game insist that there can only be one winner. Katniss and Peeta end up as the only two tributes left, which creates a conflict. The couple decides that the best option is to die together. As they attempt to eat a handful of poisonous berries, there is an announcement that both Katniss and Peeta are the annual hunger games winners.
