Pediatric anesthesiologists are specialist that treats children from the newborn period through the teenage years, years 0-18. A pediatric anesthesiologist is a fully trained anesthesiologist who has completed at least 1 year of specialized training in anesthesia care of infants and children. They usually work alongside pediatric surgeons in an operating room.
To become a Pediatric Anesthesiologist, you must first graduate from high school and then complete four years in college. After this, you will then need to complete at least 4 years of medical school one year of internship and 3 years of residency in anesthesiology, additional specialty training in pediatric anesthesiology, and receive your certification from the American Board of Anesthesiologists.
