Paul was a slave of Jesus Christ, in prison because of a firm stand for the gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul in prison writes this letter to the church at Philippi, to those set apart by the Anointed one for the work of the gospel. My imprisonment has actually helped spread the good news to new places and populations. It has spread through the ranks of the imperial guard and to everyone else around me, because of my faith in the anointed one. I am a prison of Roman, because of the believing in Jesus the Anointed, but being chosen to suffer for him as well. My prayer is that I soon will be released from this dark place. I do not expect that dishonor and shame will plague me in any way, but I do hope I will be able to speak freely and courageously …show more content…
The way we live our conduct shows how we are and whom we are. There are some who conduct shows they are really enemies of the cross of Christ. Their lives, they only thanks on earthly things, and shameful things, and they are headed for destruction. But we are waiting for the Lord return so we may go to our heavenly home. When the Lord come, he will take our weakness and change them into glory. So why we are here waiting for the return of the Lord, there is still work to do, telling the good news to others about Christ. Always be considerate to others and be full of joy on the way you live. Don’t worry about anything, instead, pray abut everything. Telling God what you need, and thank him for all he has done and you will experience the peace, of God. In order to walk the right path, be true and honorable, pure and lovely, and admirable. Learn to be content in all and every situation. Make a commitment today to servicer the Lord. Think about the sin, pain, and brokenness that comes from lying, stealing, murder, and adultery that can all be traced back to the prior condition when hearts and minds are frustrated and discontent. My brothers and sisters think on the thing you learn from me, everything you heard and saw me do. Keep these things in your heart, I thank God for you and your concern for me. I learn to be content with whatever I
Andersonville Prison, officially named Camp Sumter, was among the largest of the prison camps during the civil war (Holst). Events that took place there and the actions of Captain Henry Wirz, the man in charge of the camp, are of the most speculated incidents that occurred during the war. However, Henry Wirz should not have been found guilty of the war crimes at Andersonville.

Paul was imprisoned, “by restraints and bonds of the Roman Praetorium,” in Rome while writing to the Philippians, now part of modern-day Turkey. For more background, please see above.
The setting of the short story “Paul’s Case” is clear and appropriate for the story. This is because Paul's feelings in the story happen to have a direct connection to the setting of the story. The East Coast of the United States is where the story takes place. From Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Newark, New Jersey, and then on to New York, New York, the exact setting differs throughout the story. “…the dull dawn was beginning to show grey when the engine whistled a mile out of Newark” (Cather). At this point in the story, the main character, Paul, is on board a train which has departed from his hometown of Pittsburgh en route to the Jersey City Station. From there, he plans to make his way to the glamorous New York City, a city
Paul knew the importance of this meeting. He had already been in this before more than once maybe twice. As he sat in complete silence, his last encounter with Principal Sweet played in his mind over and over again.
For over centuries, the only form of punishment and discouragement for humans is through the prison system. Because of this, these humans or inmates, are sentenced to spend a significant part of their life in a confined, small room. With that being said, the prison life can leave a remarkable toll on the inmates life in many different categories. The first and arguably most important comes in the form of mental health. Living in prison with have a great impact on the psychological part of your life. For example, The prison life is a very much different way of life than what us “normal” humans are accustomed to living in our society. Once that inmate takes their first step inside their new society, their whole mindset on how to live and communicate changes. The inmate’s psychological beliefs about what is right and wrong are in questioned as well as everything else they learned in the outside world. In a way, prison is a never ending mind game you are playing against yourself with no chance of wining. Other than the mental aspect of prison, family plays a very important role in an inmate’s sentence. Family can be the “make it or break it” deal for a lot of inmates. It is often said that “when a person gets sentenced to prison, the whole family serves the sentence.” Well, for many inmates that is the exact case. While that prisoner serves their time behind bars, their family is on the outside waiting in anticipation for their loved ones to be released. In a way, the families
Friend…‘Paul began as a prisoner’, BUT ‘he ended as the captain’. What a difference it makes when a person has faith in God! Instead of vainly wishing for a change (Acts 27:29) or selfishly trying to escape (Acts 27:30), Paul got ready for the demands that would come at
My dad used to tell me all the time that we are all a work in progress. At the time I didn’t know exactly know what he meant. As years have passed on and my relationship with Christ matured, I now know what he meant. We as children of God can never be perfect, but what we can do is strive to be like Christ, this is what the definition of a Christian is, “Christ like”. I try to share the good news of Jesus, and when I do I like to talk to people about God’s Grace and through his son Jesus there is no Condemnation.
There are many people who are critical of the US‘s prison sysetm; the idea of locking up those who commit crimes against a society simply to keep them from doing harm.
