I would tell the mom on how she will raise her baby. On what allergease the baby might have and any allergic reactions to any dairy produces, food, bees, etc….. I would tell her to watch very closely on what she gives to her son or daughter. The kind of allergic reactions that can happen to a newborn child or to an infant can cause shortness of breath, swelling in his or hers mouth, swelling to the baby’s or to the infant's body. I’ll tell mom and the other doctors to be careful also to see if the baby or infant is allergic or has a allergic reactions to medications given to the child and mom.
“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. The only way to do great work is to love what you do!” ~ Steve Jobs. By receiving this scholarship by becoming a labor and delivery nurse I will need what I do is great work and that I will love what I
My ambition is to graduate St. Francis College as a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s degree in the upcoming years. Although majoring in nursing will not be easy, I feel I am prepared for the challenge. At this time in my life I cannot see myself majoring in anything else. As a young girl, with a mother working in the medical field, I was always fascinated going to work with her. Working in a doctor’s office these past two and a half years myself has given me much experience with patients and has made it more to clear to me that this is what I want to pursue as a career. I wish to be a nurse because I seem to get a feeling of warmth and internal satisfaction when helping those in need. I have begun to learn that medicine is not the only cure for people’s ailments. It is the care they receive by those around them whether it is in a hospital, nursing home, or even their own home. This is where I believe that I can make a great difference in people 's lives by helping them recover.
“Definition of a nurse: To go above and beyond the call of duty. The first to work and the last to leave. The heart and soul of caring. A unique soul who will pass through your life for a minute and impact it for an eternity. An empowered individual whom you may meet only for a 12-hour period, but who will put you and yours above theirs”-Anonymous. For the past year and a half, I have volunteered at Blaire E. Batson Children’s Hospital. It has been an amazing experience! My passion for the medical field and career of nursing has been magnified. I know without a doubt that nursing is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I long for the opportunity to care for my future patients and their families. I want to touch other people’s lives just as I have witnessed nurses do throughout my time volunteering. God has given me a passion for nursing. With my passion and compassion for others, I know I will be successful if admitted into the BSN program.
I deserve to be selected for the Jordan Hackett Memorial Scholarship because as a hard-working student, I will commit myself to effectively take advantage of the opportunity that this scholarship will provide me. As a student, I not only persistently work hard academically but also try to improve my work ethic and people skills. I believe education is the key to success, and I try to connect my passion for education with my desire for helping others. As a result, I have decided to pursue a career as a neonatal nurse practitioner. I wish to get the opportunity to bring life into this world and care for the sick newborns to the best of my ability.
I want to be a neonatal nurse because I lost my twin nephews before they were born and because I really enjoy working with babies. I also enjoy the challenges that will come with trying to figure out what needs to be done to care for each baby. I will mainly be working with the physical aspect of the babies because my main concern will be the health of the infants. Some strengths of the job will be that I will constantly be challenged and that I will be able to work with an age group that I love. Some of the challenges will be trying to understand what the infants need and any patient lost will be a huge challenge. Because I will only work with young babies, most parts of the age group are genetics related. At the point they will be at, everything they will be doing is based off instincts. Although the loss of my nephews was a terrible time, their memory has inspired me to pick a career where I can keep other families from feeling the same
Registered Nurses have a lot of responsibilities and other jobs, the career I chose is a NICU Nurse. They work in the rooms with babies to monitor any complications, but mostly premature babies. I chose this career because I love babies and I would love to be the reason why a baby got better. This career will be a great fit for my life goals because I’ve always wanted to be a nurse and I love working with babies so why not put both the things I love into one.
I am passionate of becoming a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. I got inspired to work in this field when I interned at hospitals such as the Veterans and at Community Regional Center in the children's clinic. I have always worked with children and like being part of their lives. Ever since I volunteered at Storey Elementary After school Program with kids on their homework, it assured me that working with children is what makes me happy. I want to impacts others lives positively. I am serious about my career path and I take every advantage to learn more about it. This was one of the reasons why I had taken part of the UCSF Doctors Academy program, because I wanted to learn more about the health profession and be exposed to it. Being part of the
The course I wish to study is Nursing because I have always had a fascination as a child watching those in the health industry help those that were sick and at their most vulnerable become better again. As a child my younger brother and I both spent our first months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and my dream is to be able to work in women’s health as well as working with infants and children who are sick and in need of help like we were. I have never doubted if Nursing would be the right career choice for
The factor that made my decision to choose nursing as my major was mother, Esther. My mother has been a registered nurse for as long as I can remember. When I was younger, my mom would bring me to work with her on some of her night shifts at A.I DuPont Children’s Hospital. I remember going to each room and visiting the patients. It made me happy that my mom was their nurse, and was there to help them get better. As I got older, that feeling of me wanting to make a difference in someone else’s life never went away. There are many different types of nurses in the nursing field. My field of preference is to become a Neonatal Nurse. I enjoy working with babies, and studying closely on how they grow, and develop. Some of the characteristics my mom
Becoming a labor and delivery nurse may be one of the most challenging things a person could go through. Having to learn how to balance personal life with great movements a person could do. Becoming a Labor and Delivery Nurse is the one thing that I have always wanted to be. Helping all the mothers to be, bring their newborn babies into the world. Bringing happiness to little families starting form. But, as all things, Labor and Delivery nurses need a good and proper education. There are many situations in which a nurse can be caught in. Also, there is a lot of training in which the nurses should accomplish. You see, there are many steps that a future RN should take to make all her dream come true.
I want to become a nurse because as a baby I had many difficulties in coming to this world. From being eight months premature and breech, my mother had a hard time giving birth to me. She had to fly from the island of Kauai to Oahu to give birth to me and because I was eight months premature I almost didn't survive. I would not be here today if it weren't for the nurses at Kapiolani Medical Center who took care of me and nursed me into a healthy little baby. These nurses helped me fight for my life and when I was discharged, they gave me a little green doll that I still hold onto until this very day. For this reason, I have the desire to work hard and become the neonatal nurse that I always wanted to be. Being a neonatal nurse will give me the opportunity to
At the beginning of nursing school I had thought that labor and deliver is where I want to be. However, I realized after my first clinical rotation on the floor that, L&D is just not for me. I really enjoy working with children but L&D is not my cup of tea. However, being an L&D nurse is a big deal as that mother in labor relies on you for coaching and being there for her. It’s really great that all these organizations offer so much to continue a nurse’s education in that specialty. It is best way for nurses to also get current research and evidence based practices that are able to help nurses provide optimal and quality care.
I choose nursing as my future career because I enjoy working with others, helping others feel better, and educating people. These three topics are all involved in what nursing is. I believe that nursing is focused on the holistic care of individuals and their families in order to achieve and maintain an optimal level of health, a great quality of life, and comfort. This is done through the promoting healthy living, providing a safe environment, preventing illness, and the caring for the individual and the family.
My sole motivation to become a midwife is my love and passion for mother and child relationships, my compassion for others, and my passion for childbirth. School has always been an extremely important part of my life, but nursing school is something that I can not wait to be a part of. Eager is an understatement when I think about being able to learn about caring for others in a way that can save lives and better people’s health. I believe that to be a nurse, you need to be a special kind of person: you need to be selfless, dedicated, and passionate. I want to be a midwife so that I can assure that women are receiving the very best care they desire and need. Choosing to study to become a midwife was an obvious choice for me because I desire to experience natural births with families and I want to provide the mothers and families with comfort, compassion, knowledge, and peace. Childbirth is an amazing part of life. It starts so many things such as families, life, and love for another person. My motivation is that I will be able to help create families and
Caring for others has always been a passion of mine, and becoming a nurse has always been my dream. While my dream has turned reality, I can say that nursing has blessed me with the opportunity to not only be a servant to those in my community, but it has also allowed me to be of some comfort to patients and their loved ones during their darkest and most vulnerable moments. Nursing offers a variety of opportunities, where the only restrictions are the ones we set for ourselves. As for myself, all things are possible, for if I want it, I strongly believe it’s already mine. The depths that I will go to reach the latitude of success that I so desire is boundless.
I chose to be a nurse because this allows me to interact more with people. Nursing is a great profession; it allows people to influence and touch lives. I am willing to obtain this significant responsibility. I am keen to be there for the patients through illness, injury pain, loss, grieving, birth, growth, aging, and health. I consider myself as determined and vigorous. I have the desire and determination to accomplish my goal of being a nurse. I am also thoughtful, caring, and open. I believe that my desire and traits would reflect on me being a nurse and would make me successful one.
