Getting into the cosmetology field has always been something I have been interested in. So for my passion project I wanted to “perfect” a balayage. Which is almost looks like an ombre, the difference is that we weave through your hair, so you see some highlights are up higher and the bottom half is all lighter. I did something similar to my friend's hair but with red instead. I got it down pretty fast and then she wanted a blonde balayage. For me to do this I need to understanding color choices, which mesh well with the color she has now, how fast does he hair take (how fast will the bleach show), last but not least is measurements. Measurements is a key factor in dying hair because the client wants a certain color. (Research) In Vero Color
“You haven't done so well with passing classes and that’s an issue, you have a decision to make, you can either stay at lakewood and not graduate on time, or you can move to an alternative school to make up the credits you need.” The words that no high school student want to hear. As a high school student, school was not my best interest. Yes, i can say that i was interested and determined to get done with my high school year and go to college and continue to persuade my dream in either becoming a cosmetologist or become in the culinary fields, but that didn’t go as planned. As the days go by everything becomes a challenge, School work gets harder along with the classes, also understanding everything that you learn even gets harder. Most people
I have chosen cosmetology as my research career. This career particularly interest me because it is something I would like to do with my life. I feel this career is filled with opportunities that can be very beneficial to me financially and emotionally. One specific goal I have in my life is to one day open my own salon.
Every since I was a child I have had a passion for doing other people’s hair. When I was little I would use my baby dolls as clients and work on their hair until it was perfect and neat. I have chosen to be in the cosmetology field because I like to help other people with their needs and wants as well as mine. I am aware that while working in this industry I will work with many different ethnic groups and many different hair types. I feel I can do anything as long as I have the determination to do so. Many people go to cosmetology school to work for someone else, but I would like to open up a mini-salon out of my own home someday.
Most people care a lot about their appearance, and are willing to spend time and money to go get their hair or makeup done, especially for special occasions. That’s why there will always be a need for cosmetologists in mostly every area. Getting a general cosmetology license covers everything including doing hair, nails and makeup. Or, you can get licensed to be a nail technician or esthetician (¨Cosmetologist¨). Personally, I would rather get a general cosmetology license so I have the freedom to do whatever services I want or whatever services are in highest demand by client’s. I’ve also decided that someday in the future I would like to manage a salon, either corporate owned or my own business. For this I will have to go to college and get a degree in business administration along with my cosmetology license. I think being a cosmetologist is a good career for me because I see a lot of positives and very few negatives from the research I’ve done. Even if the education might be challenging, managing a salon will be a satisfying career for me because the labor market outlook is positive, the salary and hours are sustainable, and I will enjoy the challenging and diverse nature of the work and rewarding social interactions.

Being a barber is a big part of society and will only continue to grow all around the world. The reason why it is a big part is because hair will always be around and people like or need to look good. Most people need to look presentable for their jobs or other events and most of them do not have time to cut their own hair or just simply do not know how to. This job will start to get busier and to continue growing because let us admit it, who does not like a flexible schedule you can set on your own without anyone telling you “no”. The longest course to becoming a barber is approximately for about 9 months, and most barbers after that become self-employed and open their own barber shop.
Starting off with my academic choices I decided to fool around in high school. But when I graduated on time I got scared that I would mess up again and not do anything in life so I chose the first career that I thought I would be good at. This career was Cosmetology. I soon realized that I did not agree with their teaching methods and I couldn’t see myself in that career in the future. In deciding this I was now without schooling and stuck in the blank space of not learning anything, the blank space I was so scared of and tried so hard to avoid. As a child I had the dream of becoming a lawyer, I would defend people and fight for justice. Yet as I got older I realized that if I were to become a lawyer I would get very attached to the issues
Remember when you were about eight and you said you wanted to be a police
Attended school until she reached the eighth grade, and she was unprofessionally trained in the field of cosmetology. She attended Fairview Elementary School and Fifer Middle school in Dover, DE. She explained that she was not the best student, but proudly made honor roll the marking period before she dropped out. She learned the basics of cosmetology by watching her mother. This was the basis of why she decided to quit school. In pursuit of her cosmetology career she did not feel the need to finish school.
People who want to work as a beauty therapist require a level 3 NVQ or City&Guild in beauty therapy to be considered as fully qualified. Once they have their certificates, they are in a position to apply for jobs as a therapist in beauty salons and hairdressers, gyms, spas, hotels, cosmetics retailers and cruise lines. They all recruit qualified beauticians, so there are plenty of employment opportunities - both full and part-time - available for skilled and personable staff.
Throughout my 4 years at Texas Women’s University, my passion for the healthcare industry has grown. During my academic years of study, I developed a great interest in pursuing a career in the healthcare industry; specifically, in the area of physician’s assistant. The possibility of being able to delve into that industry as a physician’s assistant became more and more propitious as I continued my education. Being the daughter of immigrant parents who started a new life in the United States, I was given a great opportunity to further my education, which my parents, regrettably were not afforded due to the persecutions they endured as members of the Baha’i faith. Being denied their right to further their education solely due to their religion, forced them to move thousands of miles away. They left everything behind to give my sister and I a chance to become accomplished and successful in society without going through so much viciousness and violence. Watching them painfully endeavor to learn a new language, find jobs in a country where they felt isolated, and struggle to perform simple everyday tasks like paying the bills, I learned how to work hard. I learned that life is often unfair and in order to be successful, I must use my determination to push through obstacles in order to reach the level of success that I seek. As Mike Gafka once said, “To be successful you must accept all challenges that come your way. You can’t just accept the ones that you like”.
The first step in this is probably the easiest out of all of them. Beginning with buying all the products you’ll be using, with only spending some of the money that you would be if you payed a professional to do it. Easily enough to get most of your supplies you can go to sally’s. While here you can either ask someone to help you or find them all yourself. You’ll need: the hair color that you want, a plastic bowl, if you don’t have an old one at home that you want to use, a coloring brush to help make sure that you color gets applied evenly, plastic hair clips because you’ll be parting your hair, depending on the color you’ll need a toning shampoo and conditioner, gloves and tin foil. The last two products, Wal-Mart is always an option.
Numerous steps, major and minor, need considered when doing an all over color application. A few things to remember through the whole process would be that the person applying the color needs to do a thorough job, precision is key, and the person receiving the color can probably kick the applicator’s butt if their hair gets fried off making them look like 2007 Britney Spears. Three major steps to avoid the major butt-kicking includes a client consultation and set-up, application and processing.
