It was a hot Tuesday in Downtown Miami. Pablo Marino cruised down Main street in 66’ Cobra. He lowered his blue and white Oakleys which matched his ride. He pulled over in front of the West bank and hopped out of his car. He quickly glanced at the security cameras that surrounded the building. He made sure he didn't make eye contact or look too suspicious.of the 3 story stone building. The West bank was the oldest building on main street Miami. A camera at every corner and window. Three at the entrance, not a problem. To Pablo Marino this was just part of the routine. He pulled on his black leather gloves and his signature blue and white balaclava. He pulled on his extra large blue jacket which fit tightly on his husky body. He rubbed his stubby mustache, quickly going over the plan. He would try to keep it clean. No blood necessary. The AK-74U in his jacket wasn’t part of the plan. This would be an easy grab. The plan, walk up to the tellers and put a pistol to their head. After that just grab the crash and cruise away. It would be a little harder after the terror threat from “Black Mamba”. Black Mamba was more into fear and destruction than profit. They had no real goal except to cause fear. The heightened security wasn’t strong as the threat level was dying down. Pablo had done this many times and being the …show more content…
It turned out there advertised “Heavily armed guards” were decently armed but 1 guards per 2 floors left only 5 guards against 4 skilled robbers. It wouldn’t be the easiest thing ever with the Miami-Dade police waiting as backup a few minutes away. The busy Friday traffic let them slip up to the Seybold roof unnoticed. There total 300 million dollar load could be held in 4 backpacks but that was in no way the plan. They placed 5 special crates onto the roof and sleekly slipped back into the traffic. After a quick double check of the stores they would hit, all 3 of Pablo’s amigos hopped in the Land Rover and drove back to Pablo’s
Oscar Casares made Mr. Perez a believable by describing her features “she measured five feet two inches and weighed 164 pounds,” (Casares line14) he also gives us a vivid detailed on how people watched her every time to bowl. In his short story Mr. Perez is the main character who is from a little town called Brownsville’s located in the board of Texas and Mexico. He opens the story with her at the bowling alley where everyone stops to watch her paly, Casares say “the ball’s cherry red and gold swirls made it look as if it were catching fire when released down the lane… People stopped to watch when she was up” (Casares line 2-4) in which the reader fells as if they can see her roll her ball.
This is the location where the robbers first entered and started to fire. Both robbers made an illegal withdrawal at the bank and held people hostage inside the bank’s volt. One of the bank’s personnel was held at gunpoint and forced to fill up a duffle bag with money from the volt. They caused thousands and thousands of dollars of damage to the bank. The parking of Bank of America would be a crime scene as well, this is the area in which multiple police officers and civilians were shot and injured. In this location there were approximately 50 police officers involved in the shootout. The residential area in which both robbers lead officials would be another crime scene. Here both individuals were gun downed and killed. Phillips one of the armed robbers was killed by a semi-truck after his AK 47 failed on him and he used a small pistol to fire back at officers. Mătăsăreanu was shot multiple times in the middle of a street, in which later caused his
There were two men inside the modest one-story building; the bank cashier and a lawyer named William McDowell. One of the robbers, possibly Jesse, walked up to the cashier and asked to have a $100 banknote changed. As the cashier wrote out a receipt, the robber drew his revolver and fired two shots, one into the man's chest and another into his forehead. As McDowell ran for the door, he was shot in the arm. Jesse grabbed a portfolio of bank paper and raced outside.”
Surana parked his Mercedes in his garage, he got out and started to retrieve his wife’s walker from the trunk. At that point, an African-American man wearing dark clothing jumped out, pushed Mr. Surana down to the ground, and demanded his wallet. The assailant said “give me money, give me money,” and then ripped Mr. Surana’s wallet out of his left pants pocket, tearing the pocket in the process. Mr. Surana testified that his wallet contained his driver’s license, insurance information, $460.00 in currency, and two credit cards, one of which was an American Express card in his wife’s name, and the other, a U.S. Bank FlexPerks card in his name. After taking the wallet, the man fled towards a waiting vehicle. That vehicle subsequently left the area, driving away with his headlights off. According to the 911 call that was played for the jury, Mr. Surana reported the robbery to police at approximately 12:33 a.m. on August 13,
The life of Richard Ramirez began on February 29, 1960 in El Paso, Texas. Born to Mercedes and Julian Ramirez, he was the youngest of seven siblings. Growing up he had a traumatic childhood because of an ill-tempered father that would abuse him. The environment at home continued to get worse and would often spend the night at cemeteries to avoid his family.
An Akron man robbed the First Union Bank in Cuyahoga Falls on Monday. The suspect claimed to have a shotgun under his raincoat. The bank teller gave him the money in a paper bag that he was carrying with him. Along with the money, the bank teller included an exploding dye pack in the bag, which exploded as the man left the bank. The robber fled on foot after he threw the bag of money into the bushes.
The robbery was carried out by Jeral Wayne Williams, Donald Weems, Samuel Brown, Samuel Smith, Nathaniel Burns, Cecilio Ferguson, David Gilbert, Judith Alice Clark, Kathy Boudin, and Marilyn Buck, and some unknown accomplices. At 3:55 PM, they stole $1.6 million dollars from a Brink’s armored car at the Nanuet Mall. Two police officers died and a Brink’s guard died. There were multiple gunfights between the robbers and the police. Chris Dobbs, Samuel Brown, and Judith Alice Clark crashed their getaway vehicle and they were arrested by police chief Alan Colsey. Officer Colsey found $800,000 and a 9mm gun in the car. Two days later, NYPD found Samuel Smith and Sekou Odinga. The two groups engaged in a gunfight leaving Smith dead and Odinga captured. In the next few months, three more robbers were arrested. The investigation for the robbery continued on for many years after. In 1985, Buck was arrested and the ring leader, Williams, was arrested in 1986. Nathaniel Burns, who had already been convicted for multiple bank robberies, was found guilty and sentenced to serve a 40 year prison sentence. Clark, Gilbert and Weems, were also found guilty by the same Jury. Judge Ritter in October 6, 1983, sentenced these three to consecutive 25 year to life sentences and making them eligible for parole in 2058. In 2006. Clark was granted a new trial in a district court because she had no
It is a casual day in Los Angeles,California...for most people. No one knew what Demarco Genemi was planning that day. He was planning a huge heist that would affect the whole entire L.A.P.D. Demarco has been planning this robbery for over a year, but he had another one coming that was even bigger. Demarco had been stealing since he was little and had never been caught, he plans his heist very well knowing every little detail about where he is going. Demarco started the heist at seven a.m on a Tuesday. He was on his way to MaZe Bank in his 1997 Ford Escort that was very old. When he arrived at the bank, he was sitting in his parking spot hacking the secruity system. He stepped out of the car with his mask in his pocket and a gun as well he looked

Around the time of 1978, a business was developing that would soon be wealthy enough to profit up to 60 million a month (Kelley). Despite its wealth, the Medellin Cartel was not exactly a legal enterprise. It devoted infinite amounts of time, money, and manpower to produce, sell, and distribute drugs throughout vast areas. At the head was Pablo Escobar, who was admired by many inside and outside of the cartel. Countless people were involved in his business, both voluntarily and involuntarily (Kelley). While countless people looked up to him as a hero, Pablo Escobar took vicious measures while running his business, due to his thirst for power and wealth; however, he did not receive a satisfying punishment for the crimes he committed.
Thank you, Ian, for this wonderful article. You are certainly right about how smart Pablo Escobar was. He chose to smuggle cocaine into The United States instead of selling it in his home country so he can make 10 times the profit. He used many different routes to smuggle drugs into the United States. He even bought a small plane and used it to traffic drugs to Panama himself. The first plan he ever bought was put on top of the entrance to his famous ranch of Napoles. He later hired an American CIA agent name Barry Seal, who later became an informant and was killed by Pablo's hitmen. He also had submarines built and used various cartels in Mexico to smuggle his product to the United States. I think the smartest thing about him was that he never
They removed the gun and he took his final step. He started falling, the blindfold fell off, and they watched Jorge as he grabbed a tree roots that was sticking out. Jorge was holding on by a root, but the root wasn’t stable, and it cracked off, and Jorge fell about 30 feet. Jorge hit the ground and was dead. After that, the Black Bandits stayed in the warehouse, drawing the blueprints of a dream mansion they someday hope to build for themselves. They stopped stealing for a few months, so no one would get suspicious. Soon they felt they needed more money, so they thought they would strike the Museum again. They went in from the roof like they did last time. This time they snuck into the Geological section, and stole diamonds, and other valuable rocks. They were almost out the back door, when one of them hit an alarm that triggered all the alarms. It took no time for the police to get there. By the time, they got the valuables into the car, they could hear guns being drawn from behind them. They knew that they had got caught and they were definitely going to jail! The police had connected them to the first robbery. They questioned them about Jorge, a couple days later the authorities found the abandoned warehouse and Jorge’s body. His family was happy to have found Jorge, even though he was dead. In memory of Jorge, the Field Museum of Natural History asked if they could put Jorge’s
As of the most powerful and important position in the world, the President of the United States has a duty and obligation to present the truth to the American people and the rest of the world. But as shown from the 2016 election cycle and current presidency, it appears that the truth can be substituted by “alternative facts”.
I choose to research “El Pablo Escobar”, because his lifestyle caught my eye. I instantly caught interest in wanting to know more of what he’s like. Other people in the world think El Pablo Escobar was born from hell, I think he was a person trying to survive in this cruel world. We all do things that we’re not proud of, but that’s just the nature of life. We do unusual things that some people just don’t understand, some of us grew up poor or mentally abused in our own mind. Creates people like El Pablo Escobar who become so violent in nature, they become the wolf not the sheep. I’ll be also writing about the way he grew up to become so successful in the person he became, and the ways he gained power.
Throughout time many mentally disabled and people who have been wrongfully accused of a crime have faced the death penalty, which is cruel and unconstitutional punishment; countless court cases such as Furman vs. Georgia and the O.J. Simpson murder trial have led to change within states to the outlawing of the death penalty.
