In 2012, about 5.9 million children were admitted into the hospital in the United States. When a child is admitted into the hospital, on average, they have a longer stay than adults. Being admitted in the hospital for an extended period as a child, creates obstacles to have a positive outlook on life. It is hard for parents to be able to take that much time off of work to be there to comfort and support their child. I would like to have the Prairie Meadows Scholarship to help children that have be in the hospital for extensive periods of time, have a better, more positive outlook on life.

Paying for college is an expensive endeavor, and my goal is to complete my education with no loans or debts. My family has saved money for college from the time I was born, but the price tag is still more than we have. I have applied for many scholarships and will continue to do so throughout the next four years; however, the CWEA Scholarship provides me with a unique opportunity to use my talent and love for color guard to fund my education.
I love learning and bettering myself. Also, I believe it is very important to show this to our children instead of just preaching it. Continuing our education info our adult life is one of the best things you can do for your mind and spirit, in my opinion. I am a senior enrolled at Seaman High School; I am deserving of the XYZ Scholarship because I am hard-working, humorous, and intelligent. For example, on top of schooling and extra-curricular activities, I work an average of 25 hours every week. When my work is finished and I have gone home, I help my mother take care of my niece and nephew, whom my parents are taking care of permanently. Your scholarship asks for those who strive to make it in life, and hard work will bring me there. In addition, many of my superiors and peers tell me I possess a humorous personality. Currently, I participate in an improv troupe at my local community theater and have written a comedic short story. This is an important quality because it portrays my compassion
Learning has always been my passion. When I was younger, I would spend hours pouring over dictionary pages, trying to decrypt the hidden messages of jumbled up symbols. I would take a book and invent stories to go along with the pictures. Nothing ever stopped me from trying to understand things. When I turned 4, my dad finally taught me to read. We would sit on the couch, me sounding out each word and my dad correcting me after each mispronunciation. The experience was enthralling. Ever since that moment, I have been passionate about learning. When given the opportunity to learn, I seize it. In this way, I identify most with the Scholarship aspect of the Nation Honors Society. Education has never been the means to gain a degree, but rather the means to expand my knowledge.
As far as I could remember, I have always appreciated by education and wanted to thrive with it. When i was 8 I had the great idea of becoming a mechanical engineer at northwestern.
Education is important to me, because education opens doors for people to be able to get further in life. Education lets people have to opportunity to learn things they actually have interest in or have a passion to do. It leads to better advances one could make at their own extent
