At the core of every organization are the human, physical, technological and financial resources that enable it to function. In this unit you learn the importance organizations place on managing their resources efficiently in order to achieve their objectives.

1. You need to explain how Wrotham School manages its human, physical and technological resources to improve its performance. In particular, explain how the schools physical and technological resources have:
• Planned maintenance
• Refurbishment
• Protection and security.
2. Also explain how the school selects and trains it staff. Consider how targeting, measuring and monitoring the performance its teaching staff could improve results.

A business is only as good as its employees. This could be especially true for a business in the tertiary sector such as Wrotham School.

Wrotham School’s performance is judged not by the amount of profit it generates, but by the level of education its pupils leave with. The method used to measure this are A level and GCSE results.

In this task, I will be evaluating how managing resources and controlling budget costs can improve the performance of a business. I will also be exploring the strengths and limitations of managing resources and budgets.

The text refers to resources, technology and effergy as the top three items to evaluate (Nassar, 2007). All three components work together to create an organization. The key is to create an even balance with all three components.
The roles of each employee are clearly outlined to ensure that they stay focused to achieve the objectives of the organization. Human resource is a major resource in achievement of organizational goals. Through planning the organization is able to allocate the resources required to achieve the objectives. Effective planning ensures that the organization maximizes the use of the organization resources. The Villa care real estate has been able to maximize the use of the resources. Effective and efficient utilization of resources ensures that the organization remains competitive.
The school’s structure and location is one of the most envied and well-designed schools on the island. It is equipped with laboratories for Physics, chemistry and Biology. There are two Information Technology labs and a multi-media room that are fully equipped with desktops and high speed Internet. The Agriculture Department has four greenhouses to manage, a poultry and a rabbit hutch. There is also a fully equipped woodwork room, Auto Mechanics room, Technical Drawing room, clothing and Textile room and Food and Nutrition lab. The school operates a self-sustained canteen. 44 members of staff are employed at the school but only eight are qualified and trained. The material resources available at the school are not put to full use.
Physical & financial resources – developing goals for the organizations resources ( plant, equipment, inventory, capital) to effectively compete in the market place.

For the successful functioning of my business organization, finance, machines, materials and manpower resources are essentials. Human resource practice deals with all the above mentioned.
