In order to get a car I will persuade my parents buy using ethos. I will do this by giving them several reasons as to why I think I should have my own car. First, I will tell them that if I’m responsible enough to drive I am responsible enough to have my own car and not depend on them when I need to go somewhere. I will also tell them that I will get my driving permit and make sure I pass my driving test the first time, this way they will see how responsible I really am, and make them see how good of a driver I am. I will also make them understand that by having my own car I can drive myself to school and home from school everyday and not have to ask my friends or my friends parents to give me a ride to school. Not only will I get a job to buy my own car, but I will also put …show more content…
By telling my parents this, they will hopefully see that I'm responsible enough to have my own car. I will also use pathos by telling them that if they could trust my brother having his own car then they should be able to trust me because I get not only good grades but I am a good student at school and I don’t get into trouble. They will hopefully feel guilty and bad for not trusting me enough. I would also include logos by using statistics, I would tell them that if it would be possible I would get two jobs and depending on how much money I make, I can save up $300-$400 every two weeks. Also, I would make my mom understand that me knowing how to cook, clean, and babysit is something good, and if I could cook like her then I would be able to handle having my own car, although having your own car may be a lot of responsibility I think I can handle all the duties, and I would do just fine. Another good reason why I think I should have a car is because, it wouldn’t be safe to walk to school or walk out anywhere else alone, and they wouldn't want my life to be at
To establish ethos I’d discuss my knowledge of cars and my experience of being a member of this family in order to demonstrate my understanding of the family’s needs and expectations. My appeal to logos would be a detailed description of the car, exploitation of the connections between my family’s needs and the car’s characteristics, and customer reviews of the vehicle. I’d appeal to pathos by addressing the difficulties of not having a car and appeal to their desires of not having to waste their time in driving me to numerous locations per day, and I’d also mention the surge of independence I’d feel if I were to have a vehicle to drive myself to school or other
Second is that your parents don’t have to waste gas on you. You can also start looking for a job. Start being reason and you can start paying for your own gas. Alos if you have extra stuff you are in like sports,or band, or something else you can drive yourself
I sat there nervous , thinking this is it I have to do this ,It's now or never . I can feel the sweat coming down my forehead ,my hands also sweaty as I gripped the steering wheel. My shot at getting my drivers license was finally here . I can feel the driving instructor watch my every move . But let's go back a couple of weeks to the one day I decided I was ready to get behind the wheel . My 15th birthday , in my culture when a girl turns 15 they are coming into adult hood and there is a big celebration called Quinceañera. I was not to happy with the celebration all I really wished for was to have my own car . My parents on the other and it being tradition they didn't really ask for my opinion . After all what teenage girl didn't want to have
As a seventeen year old who is currently in between jobs (I’m only babysitting for a family two or three times a month), I do not have to travel very often or very far. It is because of this that I typically only travel to five different locations from my home. On the nights that I am babysitting, I travel 18 miles to the family’s home. I also travel to the local farmer’s market, which is only one mile away, the gym (6.5 miles away), church (18 miles), and to the movies (6 miles). In order to get to these places I drive the family car, which is a 2007 KIA Sportage and it is an efficient means of transportation.
First off, it’s not the size I wanted like I said before. Insurance would be through the roof on this car. The horsepower on this car, I am going to be in high school when I have this car so age is definitely going to be a factor, the price of this car is expensive so I have to have everything insured on it. Back to the price, the price tag of this car is almost seventy-three thousand dollars. I am paying for this car myself, no help from my parents. I am going to work my butt off for this car. Paying for insurance, and the car payment alone is going to be expensive. Not even talking about maintenance or gas but everything is just expensive. That’s why I have to start early and save up for this car. My parents say it’s not possible, even I think that sometimes but I have to at least try. A car is a representation of yourself, I don’t want to shoot low or drive something not worth driving. As they say these days “you only live
A pivotal moment in my life is when I went to go take my driving test. This happened on my birthday, July 12th 2016. I had been practicing with my father and my sister for a couple months, preparing for my first step into adulthood. Up to this point, I had been driving the 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee that my sister and I were sharing. However, the night before my test, it wouldn’t start. We had gotten this car to be our “beater” car, and because it had a hand brake in the middle, which is a requirement for taking the test. But now that the car wasn’t working, I had to use my grandma’s car, which was a car I’ve never driven before. My dad and I left early for my test so I could practice in the car I had never driven before. I was terrified, but determined to pass my first time. My sister had to take her test twice, and usually she was more successful in her endeavors, so this was my chance to prove that I could do at least one thing better than her. Luckily I passed with flying colors, according to my instructor, and to this day I tend to be a designated driver for my friends. I often run errands for my parents and I drive myself to work. This independence and responsibility has helped me grow and has been a critical point in my Big History.
I wanted a car so I wouldn’t have to rely on my dad for taking me to work, school, and other places. I had money saved up from previous summers, but it wasn’t enough to buy a car. I worked at Safeway during this time as a courtesy clerk. I hated this job because I would have to go outside and push carts during the hot summer and rainy days. I dreaded going to work when I saw how hot it was going to be, but I stuck with it. After some very long months at a job I didn’t like, I had saved up enough money to buy my own car. I was very proud of myself that day.
With no vehicle it was challenging to find a job and even harder to attend interviews. My parents tried their best to help me, but most of the time they couldn’t, and due to their time-consuming jobs, they didn’t have the time to assist me with daily rides. I didn’t have a job, and without a job I couldn’t afford a car. It is a vicious cycle that numerous young individuals find themselves
In order to get my parents to let me drive , I will use ethos to persuade them. I will use ethos by showing them that I can be trusted and that I am a responsible person. I will show them that I can be
At the age of 17 all I could think about was having a car. However, I understood that owning a car, I would be required to have a job. This would allow me to pay for insurance, gas and maintenance issues. I also understood buying a car required me to have a driver license. After taking all the necessary steps to purchase my first car. The very first car I bought was a “lemon”.
(Creditability) In the past 25 years I’ve purchase or assisted friends and family in purchasing several new and used cars. I also worked for a car dealership years ago after graduating High School.
In this essay for a privilege for my parents is that for my birthday when I turn 16-19 years old to get a neon green jeep. I’m not asking much but my own car is much easier than you guys drive me where I have to go. Sometimes when dad is at work he doesn’t get home until 8ish and if we need food I can go get it for us. I want to drive to places that I never been before and didn’t have the chance to do it. And I know that you guys don’t want me to grow up because I’m the littlest in the family, but we all have to grow up someday.
Buying a car can be one of the happiest times of a young adult's life, but when they find out the cost of a new car it gets scary. As a young adult, he or she may not be able to buy a brand-new car so they will need to buy a used car. I remember buying my first used car very well, it was About three weeks ago. I was very excited to be able to be my first car, but I quickly noticed that the amount of money that I had saved up was not much. I did not have many options when it came to cars. My parents wanted me to get a safe and reliable car but I went against that and bought my dream car a Ford Mustang GT. It was very hard for me to find a good condition Ford Mustang but with the right resources and help, I was able to buy my dream car.
What is the purpose of having a car? Is it to get you to work, or just for weekend getaways and fun adventures?
The automobile has had a tremendous impact on society and the environment since its development in the beginning of the 20th century. Today, there are over 500 million motor vehicles on the earth. The automobile's efficiency, style, and performance have changed over the years, but there is one thing that has not - the pollution the automobile generates. Because of the pollution, people find themselves asking whether this technology has helped our society or hurt it. Should the consequences of the automobile be cause to eliminate it? Or should science develop technology to eliminate the pollution caused by the car?
