Overpopulation is a growing problem all over the world. This is a very important environmental issue and needs to be dealt with. This environmental problem is affecting many countries in the world, but mostly the poor and impoverished countries that don’t have the resources to help deal with these issues. It also affects the environment like plants animal life and air quality. When the population of people expands we need more natural resources from the environment, so we consume more then we can produce. This leads to the lack of resources in many areas. When expanding we create a lot of pollution in the air, water, and land. The pollution affects many humans health. Overpopulation is doing more harm than any other environmental issue. …show more content…
These are only the problems that affect humans because of overpopulation. The environment also suffers because the exponential growth of the humane race. These countries cannot help themselves because they do not have the money. Most countries that are like this usually have a corrupt government. This also makes it hard for them to receive help from other countries and they don’t have government assistance to help them with this problem.
Lack of resources is not good for anyone. This makes living hard for many people in the world. When not having the things we need to survive like shelter, and food. This causes many health problems. When having a limited source of food this leads to malnutrition. Malnutrition is when you are not getting the nutrients that a human needs to be healthy. Water that is polluted and not able to be cleansed properly gives many dieses in your body. When there is not enough land to build a stable home or any type of shelter it is hard to survive out in the wild. All these things are preventable and can be stopped but without the money to get the medicines need or water purifiers many people die in impoverished countries. The Environment suffers in many ways because of overpopulation. One way is over use of resources. With more people living in the world that means we need more things to keep everyone living. Also deforestation people need space to live so we cut down nature to make more space for everyone to
Over population is an extremely serious problem facing the world today. According to an article from Newsweek in Oct. 2009 called “Where do babies come from?”, today’s world population has reached over 6.6 billion people. Also the article mentioned that in 2009 57.4% of all new born babies who were born this year came from Asia alone. This is an issue because over population can lead to hasty consumption of resources. China who has one of the largest population in the world with over 1.3 billion people, has taken a stance against over population.
Probably the world’s largest overlooked problem. You may not realise it, but the scale of this is huge! Many people seem to think it is not a big issue, “we have lots of space” they say. But it is not the space that’s the problem. Overpopulation is the direct cause of poverty, global warming, animal extinction, air and water pollution, plant and animal habitat loss, disease outbreak, etc. and the list goes on. If we do not start making an effort to fix these, then our society may end up like the dystopias we see in the
The world is being over populated with humans not only in China but in the United States of America as well. The problem isn’t as obvious in the United States as in other countries, but I believe over-populated nations will soon become a problem everywhere in the world. Population is not a bad thing in all situations, but I think that our population growth problem is un-healthy and needs to slow down. I believe there are several ways to come about this problem as well. Population can be slowed down in many ways; it’s just how we choose to execute this problem.
In some poor countries, people usually have lots of children in an individual family, and the children can cost a lot of money, due to education, medicine, and nutrition. The family don't have enough money or resources to pay for their children, and then the children can easily become criminals and cause social problems. Overpopulation in a city or a country can cause the people to be unable to find a job and end up unemployed. In the nineteenth or early twentieth century in Europe, people who can not find a good job, went to their colonies such as, America and Asia. Nowadays, the people who are in the poor country can only go to the city. Then huge numbers of people come to the city, and everyone need food, water, and a place that they can live. The needs of the city growing rapidly. However, the natural resources are limited in some countries like China, India, and Pakistan and they do not have enough high-quality resources to support their vast population. As people are using more natural resources, they are also increasing the emission of the pollution. These caused the environmental burden. And the environmental problem is related with the population increasing. As long as the population increases, greater environmental challenges are to
Overpopulation is harming the earth and its atmosphere. First of all, every 10 years, 880 million people are born. The population growth leads to an increase of the amount of natural resources being used. An example is water that is taken from lakes and other bodies of water, and then the lakes run out of water. This causes the dust particles to fly in the air and pollute the atmosphere. That affects the quality of the air we breathe. In addition, the increase in population also means more trash goes to landfills and more land has to be taken to make yet more landfills. This results in toxins coming off the waste, which destroys the soil by killing the nutrients in it. The toxins will also float up into the air making air dangerous to people. When the toxins
It is predicted by the year 2050 the world's population will have increased to over 9 billion people. (International...) If this prediction comes true the world will become overpopulated and cause problems like famine, the world already struggles with feeding the amount of people alive today. A second problem is housing, in underdeveloped countries there is already a struggle with giving people places to live, so companies clear land to build houses but that leads to habitat loss and animal loss. The third reason is disease, if a disease was started and spread when the world was overpopulated the disease could eliminate half of the human population.
Overpopulation is a condition that is undesirable. Overpopulation is one of the problems that people concern it to. One of the serious countries facing this problem is China. Reports in China show that it has about 1.38 billion people in this country (Worldometers, n.d.); it has about one over seven population of world’s population. China is the fourth largest land after Russia, Canada and the United States in the world (Central Intelligence Agency, n.d.). Although China’s land is not as big as Russia or Canada, but their number of people make up more than three countries. Overpopulation in China is one of the serious problems that the world is facing because it brings unemployment, exhaustion of natural resources and also environmental pollution.
The change of population can impact the world on many aspects, and usually it will create adverse effects. According to our situation lately, we have been suffered from overpopulation- one of the main issues that the human race is facing today. It is becoming a problem for people of all races, religions and nationalities. Our population is believed to currently be over seven billion people! That is seven billion people sharing the same planet with us and relying on the same resources as we do. When we reach our ultimate carrying capacity our population is guaranteed to decline due to lack of resources and this would be a bad thing for all of mankind, competing for the same resources generally causes conflict. Thus, whether our primary concern is cleaner air, purer water, the elimination of
The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate how overpopulation causes social problems. To do so you must take many things into consideration, such as different views of racial problems and conflicting definitions of a social problem. Social problems can be defined in many different ways. They effect everyone and some of us encounter problems everyday as a result of our race, religion, gender, or low income. Others experience problems from technological change or declining neighborhoods, others are affected directly by crime and violence in their own neighborhood, and sometimes definitions of social problems are changed by society because of changes around you. Finally in
While overpopulation is a problem that plagues many developing nations, it would be wrong to assume that it is their main problem, or that the countering of overpopulation should receive priority above all else. There are more serious problems facing the third world. Poverty and the unequal distribution of wealth are two that must be dealt with first.
Overpopulation is an undesirable condition where the number of existing human population exceeds the carrying capacity of Earth. Some of the causes to overpopulation can be due to immigration. Nowadays there are more people migrated to developed countries in the western where best facilities can be found there in terms of education, medical, employment and more. Hence more people settling over then had caused the places overcrowded and this gives a rise to shortage of resources. Because of the growing number of people on the planet, most of the environment damage had increased. They are cutting down forests to build more houses, causing pollution and this had leads to more war and terrorist happening as
epletion of Natural Resources: The effects of overpopulation are quite severe. The first of these is the depletion of resources. The Earth can only produce a limited amount of water and food, which is falling short of the current needs. Most of the environmental damage being seen in the last fifty odd years is because of the growing number of people on the planet. They are cutting down forests, hunting wildlife in a reckless manner, causing pollution and creating a host of problems. Those engaged in talking about overpopulation have noticed that acts of violence and aggression outside of a war zone have increased tremendously while competing for resources.
Overpopulation is arguably the world’s most serious environmental problem, because it exacerbates all of the others. The global population grew from 3 billion in 1959 to 6 billion in 1999, an increase of 100 percent in just 40 years. According to current projections, the world population will expand to 9 billion by 2040,
The big question is whether humanity is getting too big and, in the process, endangering the wellbeing of people, and our planet. Overpopulation is a real thing it’s happening right now in some parts of the world. Delay marriage, ending child marriages, and women empowerment might not seem like a lot, but it actually is. All these things can help the overpopulation problem we are facing today in certain parts of the world and in the future. If we all contribute to this we could help the world’s overpopulation issue.
Pollution, overpopulation, deforestation, and global warming are just some of the environmental problems that impact the world. These environmental problems can severely damage our world, and could possibly be the downfall or destruction of the world, as well as the human race. All of the four previously mentioned problems can cause environmental destruction. For example; pollution causes global warming, and the warmer weather from global warming causes the glaciers and polar ice caps to melt. The melting of the glaciers and polar ice caps make the water levels rise, and when the water level rises, people 's homes get destroyed, so then more people have to move inland. With more people inland, there becomes more overpopulation, pollution from all of the cars and factories, deforestation to make more homes, and less room to grow food, or to hold animals that provide food. These environmental problems become an example of the ripple effect, where one event leads into another, which then also leads into another, growing larger and larger. People should confront the environmental problems, because they affect us negatively, damage our world, and population.
