A half a dozen people told FOX25 Investigates they are waiting refunds after their vacations booked through a local company were suddenly canceled. Both Elisa Reynolds and Nikki Bennett booked a vacation at a Bretton Woods ski house through a local company, Our Rental Paradise. They say they found the Massachusetts company during a search on TripAdvisor's vacation home rental site. They paid up front and in full to a local company called Our Rental Paradise. %INLINE% "If I wanted to receive a 20 percent off discount, I would have to the check in, checks, no credit card, by Sept. 1," said Reynolds. "If sent her a check, you needed to received it within three days to secure the weekend. Otherwise she would open her calendar back up," said Bennett. Reynolds paid $3,500 for the home and Bennett paid less because she was only staying for the weekend. Both women have similar stories of how and why their vacation was canceled. %INLINE% "She said she had bad news for me, her assistant double booked the house," said Reynolds. "Said that she had really bad news for me, said that her washer flooded the home...and that we would not be able to go up that weekend."
